About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- lauraste10 contributionsAmazing tour!It was great tour! Lydia showed us as much as possible and gave us so many information about the island! She was also very kind!Written December 17, 2024
- lushchica0 contributionsJust do it...its really greatI had booked a trip with another provider, but they told me that where i was staying was too far for them to travel. So i booked this...woop woop. Lovely Dutch guide/driver who was really knowledgable, fantastic views, a juice factory that turns out to be lots of alcoholic drinks, and honestly Morea is possibly the most beautiful island in the world. What could not be fantastic.Written December 15, 2024
- AprilForbes0 contributionsFantastic 😍This was a wonderful island trip and so much fun, as well as very informative about the history. The pineapple plantation was amazing and no exporting, all for the islanders. The pineapple was so sweet and very refreshing, $5 for freshly squeezed, which to me was worth it 😊. The garden in the hills was a little different but certainly worth it, the ride at times was a bit nerve racking. Could also see our cruise ship from that high up. Small river we stopped at, saw some eels, which freaked me out but my friend stroked them. Overall an amazing trip which I would thoroughly recommend.Written December 9, 2024
- John_B99_Oz0 contributionsMoorea off the beaten trackWe loved the 4WD half-day adventure tour of beautiful Moorea. Ron was very helpful and knowledgeable about the island, its people and culture. As we were staying in a resort with limited travel options, we really wanted to see the interior of the island. The highlight was the drive up the rugged, bumpy road to Magic Mountain, where we were rewarded with spectacular views over the entrance to Opunohu Bay. And the smoothies at the Magic Mountain refreshment stop were to die for. Highly recommended.Written December 1, 2024
- hprovenc0 contributionsGreat intro to MooreaRon was an excellent tour guide. There was only one other couple on the tour and we really got to move at our own pace. The stops were varied and it’s a great way to see the inland island highlights if you don’t have your own vehicle (or even if you do - the roads were quite bumpy)! Great view points and stops for fruit tasting and juice/liquor tasting. Ron was very knowledgeable about the island and answered all of our questions. Lovely way to spend an afternoonWritten November 20, 2024
- 285elissac0 contributionsMoorea Island SafariWe had an amazing day touring and learning about Moorea with our guides, Vai and Ron on the Moorea Island Safari. The tour included stops at a variety of locations, including Magic Mountain’s spectacular views, visiting a pineapple plantation, a distillery, and a local stand where we tasted local fruits and homemade jams. It was an unforgettable day!Written November 17, 2024
- sarahrP4760TP0 contributionsGreat time!We had such a great time. Vie was a wonderful guide, sharing with us history of the island and providing insights into the plants and vegetation. The climb up to many of the lookout areas is very steep with heavy traffic so would highly recommend going with a guide.Written November 8, 2024
- 31delbertg0 contributionsInteresting tour of MooreaWe had a great time on the tour and our tour guide was excellent. Figured out why it’s called “ Magic Mountain“ during the tour! What a ride! Wonderful scenic views. Although our final stop was only a 15 minute visit to a black sand beach, it was great. This was an afternoon tour, and there was some confusion as to whether the tour would get back to the cruise ship in a timely fashion. However, our travel agent was able to communicate with the tour, and we were assured that our return would be timely. Once we landed at the wharf, it was easy to find the tour, especially when we saw our names written on a display that was easy to see.Written November 4, 2024
- szonj0 contributionsGreat guideWe had a great time discovering the inner island of Moorea with our guide Ron. He as a guide and his stories were real added value to our experience. We definitely recommend him and this trip!Written October 23, 2024
- 571patiencel0 contributionsHelpful knowledgeable hosts.Very thorough. And his driving was fantastic. He went down roads I would never try! He and his wife were quite thorough. I wish there was a little more English spoken between stops about the people and the culture. But all n all I would recommend it anytime. Also to note we had an elderly woman 81 who had previously hurt her hip and they we very gracious and helpful to be sure she saw all she could. Thank you again!!Written October 20, 2024
- Happiness346410162970 contributionsGreat tour!Great tour! We went all through the mountains and got to see all the sites! Fun going off road and climbing the mountains in the back of the truck. The 4 hour trip toured the northern half of the island and was awesome. Our tour guide was great, informative, nice and funny. It started to rain on us toward the end of our trip and the truck had roll down covers to help keep us dry. All in all I would highly recommend going on this tour!Written October 12, 2024
- 936celestel0 contributionsWonderful TourOur guide, Ron, was wonderful! My favorite part was actually not the views from on top of the mountain, but the abandoned Tahitian Temple! Winding roads up and down mountains, small amount of walking, ideal for any age.Written September 9, 2024
- EstherW10460 contributionsThe best way to get to know and get around MooreaHighly recommend this tour to get around local businesses ( juice, rum, pineapple champagne, fruits, vanilla, etc) with tasting and shopping opportunities. Also with the 4WD high up for amazing views of Cook Bay from Magic Mountain and Le Belvedere. A fun half day tour, good way to see a bit of the island.Written September 7, 2024
- Voyage6460230 contributionsMemorable tour of Moorea's history, nature and culture.I like guides with good local knowledge and that has an emotional tie to the place. This tour will take you through some key view points of the island and let you sample local delicacies along the way. The highlight (for me) was the Magic Mountain. The jeep takes you up on a narrow mountain ridge on ots way to the overlook. Somply amazing. Dont miss this!Written August 16, 2024
- colineh920 contributionsSecond Time Around - JULY 2024My SECOND time around on this tour with Fav Guide Ron, THIS time with my daughter who was itching to see ALL that Moorea had to offer - this Tour COVERS ALOT in half a day and the LOCAL knowledge is awesome, relatable, interesting from the spot where the Bounty was filmed to use of plants, natural and geological history of the islands, human history.... very orsumm tour! HIGHLY Recommended.... not sure if theres anything to see on the other side of the Island yet but we have that gap to shrink in our brains now - so we'll be back to Moorea. :)Written August 4, 2024

Mario was a terrific tour guide. We had many interesting stops and he went into great detail to describe the history and working of everything we saw. Because of his vehicle we went places regular tour busses could not. I took tons of pictures and had unbelievable views at most of our stops. The road to the top of a mountain was very rough but Mario maneuvered it quite well. We had a terrific time and highly recommended this tour.

The tour is really interesting and is explained by those who have lived and known the island for many years. The tour is in Italian but if there are foreign people in the group (in our case French), Mario manages to explain by calmly switching from Italian to French without forgetting anyone, always involving the whole group. The safari is exciting, fun and educational. Mario manages to entertain without ever boring, managing to communicate concepts about the island that remain thanks to the ironic style of those who tell it. I read someone's comments about vulgar sarcasm, the writer certainly did not understand the spirit of the safari which is intended to be a fun part of a relaxing holiday. To sum up: nice fun safari that I would do again! Alexios and Sabrina (the Romans).

The sites were great. But our driver left a lot to be desired. The trucks are ones with manual transmission that our driver did not seem to know how to handle the main transmission. He would pop the clutch every time a shift gears, bouncing people around in the back. He also spent a lot of time across the center line spoke very limited English, and so we are having to follow another truck for the information on the stops.

A super interesting tour that allows you to learn about the origins of Moorea and the most scenic places on the island, as well as tasting typical local products.
It is he, Mario, who makes the difference, the most engaging guide you will meet who, between one joke and another, allows you to learn about the history of the island in a fun and very accurate way!
If you are in Moorea, don't miss this tour!

We only had two days on Moorea so we looked for a 1/2 day trip that would let us see some inland sites. This was the perfect trip for that. Ron and his wife Vy were our drivers and both of them had a wealth of knowledge about the island, its history, and the sites they took us to see. The mix of locations that we saw was just right - from pure scenic stops to seeing a working pineapple plantation and its distillery where we got to taste great samples of rum drinks. Be prepared for some real off roading but both Ron and Vy are extremely experienced drivers with great trucks. We highly recommend this trip!

My wife and I along with another couple recently visited Moorea on cruise vacation. This was our second time to this amazing island. While there this time, we took this 4x4 tour. Each vehicle had eight people and they were pretty comfortable and not crowded. We traveled to several different locations and each was interesting with great views. We took many pictures of this beautiful island during our excursion. They stopped at several places for bathroom breaks and refreshment opportunities. This is an excellent way to explore Moorea and see some outstanding sights.

This was a fun tour as we went around the island of Moorea island. We saw all the beautiful views and our guide told us all about the flora and fauna of the island. We learned how the vanilla is hand-pollinated and saw the beautiful flowers and plants of the island.

Beautiful excursion with Mario in person for the group of Italians. We were 4 couples on the 4x4 pickup, 3 young couples on their honeymoon and we who as an age could be their parents. Mario gave explanations as a real professor , with joy and involvement of those present in Italian and French . 4 hours fun and rich in naturalistic historical notions. Highly recommended tour , and in Italian is a luxury .

Our ship docks in Papeete at 8 am on Sept 6th, 2022. We would plan to take the 1st available ferry to Moorea for your 4 hour 4x4 tour. Is that possible or will we be too late arriving? Thank you in advance for your attention.

My name is Kathryn and we are a party of four (4) people travelling on board the RADIANCE OF THE SEAS arriving in Moreea at 8.00 am. We would love to take the 4WD Tour including the Belvedere Pineapple Farm and Magic Mountain but were wondering if you could meet us at the ferry - not sure where we are landing at Moorea but think we may get across there by ferry. We arrive in Moorea at 8.00 am and need to be back at the ship by 5.00 pm (for a 6.00 pm departure). Your name was recommended to us by information brochure from RADIANCE OF THE SEAS. Have you got a private email address we can contact - it won't take my email on this site and I don't know how else to contact you.
