Fernando Moss, our guide for the day was excellent from the start. He arrived spot on time and greeted us in the hotel lobby with enthusiasm. He wanted everyone to enjoy the day and worked hard to make that happen.
Our tour group was 7 people (up to 10 seats in the van), so a good size to chat and get to know your companions for the day.
Fernando is fully bilingual (Spanish/English), which makes a huge difference because it allowed him to share a lot of local color and history during our trip.
We started with a stop at a coffee plantation and heard how the beans are grown and harvested. Next stop was for coffee and great shots of local bird life at a cafe. Next a quick 5 min stop at an impressive waterfall. Another 10 min stop for iguana watching.
Our lunch was a simple but filling local meal (rice beans plantains and fish/beef/chicken.
The highlight was the zip lining after lunch. 9 platforms with a group of about 25 people. Don’t try and bring your camera, they take good actions shots of your zips for only $10 (they will try and sell you on $10 per person, but they give you all the group pics in the package)
After swinging thru the jungle we went to the hot springs for about 99 mins. The hot soak was nice but the facility was really just a group of 4 different pools at different temperatures (not the river hot springs we had been imagining)
The return to San Jose took about 4 hours over bumpy mountain roads including a stop for dinner.
Overall great trip, thanks Fernando !

Thank you very much for these comments and for a detailed explanation about your Arenal Volcano Full-Day Combo Tour. We are very happy to know that Fernando was excellent from the start and you noticed that he wanted everyone to enjoy the day and worked hard to make that happen, it is great that his English allowed him to share a lot of information with you. As you said, we start visiting the coffee plantation and then we provide a coffee degustation with typical snacks; the views of La Paz and San Fernando waterfalls and the iguanas are also some of the activities on this trip. It makes us very happy to know that you liked our typical food, the zip lining, and the hot springs.
Thank you very much for coming, it will be a pleasure to assist you the next time you come to enjoy more nature tours in Costa Rica.

Our tour guide Juan was very helpful as my friend got sick the night before the trip and they gladly switched the date of our trip free of charge. He picked up on time and made the trip very fun. He was very informed about the area and told us about so much. We received a snack at our third stop that was delicious. The drive was very comfortable while the twists and turns on the mountains made me a little nauseous but he made the best of it by driving cautiously. The vegetarian lunch and dinners were very good too. The zip lining and hot springs were beautiful. The day started at 7 am and we got dropped back off by 9pm. Overall this tour was definitely worth the price because we did so many things in one day. I love Costa Rica and can not wait to go back again soon.

We had such a great time with our tour guide Juan. He was so helpful and very easy to talk to. He really makes you feel comfortable with him especially if this is your first time in Costa Rica on an excursion. He helped us order food and drinks and seemed very knowledgeable about the places we visited and it's history. He was very attentive and checked in with us throughout our excursion to make sure we were well looked after. He kept us well informed about our itinerary and ordered food and drinks ahead of time so when we arrived at our restaurant and cafe spots our food was ready by the time we were seated. I highly recommend this agency and recommend Juan as a guide especially if you don't know any English or have a group of people who do and do not know Spanish. He was very good at keeping all parties informed and made sure everyone understood what or where we were traveling next. He was very organized and had great time management. Thank you Juan!

Couldn't ask for more for my last day in Costa Rica! We did so much and just the ride was enjoyable, everything is so lush and green. Alex was by far the best tour guide I've ever had on any trips anywhere in the world. He was friendly, funny and very knowledgeable about Costa Rica. He went out of his way to tell us about his beautiful country and make sure everyone had an amazing time. I would recommend this tour if you are short on time and need to pack as much as you can in one day. Thanks again Alex for this great experience and looking forward to seeing you again soon!

The landscape on the entire drive was beautiful, especially the waterfall and volcano. Zip lining was by far the best zip lining experience that I have had, and the hot springs were very relaxing after the zip line adventure. Tour guide, Juan, was very knowledgeable and thorough, while also keeping the tour moving so we could experience every aspect of the itinerary to the fullest. Great day overall!
**Only suggestion would be to provide bottled water or make it clear that no drinks are provided between stops.

Good things first. Waterfalls great, zip lining fun, hot springs fabulous. So if you’re wondering why it’s a 1 rating, it’s because of how these excursions were packaged which isn’t the fault of the tour guide or driver. The day is unnecessarily too long and if you are the unlucky souls that are in the back row and your fellow passengers are rude and recline. You are trapped on a shuttle / van for 10+ hours with inadequate air conditioning and packed 4 deep shoulder to shoulder. Although the shuttle / van can technically accommodate 13 adults it should NOT considering the length of time spent on the road. The hotel pick ups probably start 5:30/6am and tour starts around 7am. You get a snack at 9:30-10am, lunch was at 12-12:30pm and dinner wasn’t until 7:45pm, back to hotel around 9:30-10pm. Snack blah, lunch okay, dinner blah. Although we were reminded to use the bathroom at certain spots and we were told when to meet back, Passengers required additional stops and didn’t return at the stated time so additional 1+ hr was spent waiting at additional stops. This has the potential to be great but needs modifications to its itinerary and limits on number of passengers. The back row of the shuttle /van should not be used.

Thank you for your nice words, we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the waterfalls and the hot springs, and it’s also great that you found the zip-lining fun.
As to your comment about the long day, please understand that for some traveling it’s necessary to cover everything we do/observe on this tour: the coffee plantation, the waterfalls, the animals’ viewing points, the zip lining in the lush rainforest environment (there is nothing like this near San Jose), the hot springs and the conic shaped volcano: Arenal. We wish all of these things could be found in a single place, but unfortunately, it’s not the reality in our country, some traveling has to be done to be able to enjoy all of these things in one single day.
With regards to the rest of your comments, we appreciate your feedback, we will look closely for opportunities to improve so we can make the trip more enjoyable.

I went on this tour yesterday, and i’ve been on several tours in many countries and Alex is by far the most personable guide i’ve ever had. He is there to make your experience great. Alex is very knowledgeable about Costa Rica and can answer any question you have, which pairs well with his outstanding energy and charisma the entirety of the long day on the Arenal tour. On top of everything he has outstanding photography skills a huge plus for any social media user! My day was amazing filled with adventure and laughs thanks to Alex! Not mention how great the food was, I had the vegetarian option for both lunch and dinner, phenomenal.

This tour was amazing and very well thought out. We took a scenic route to Arenal as opposed to the highway and the tour guide would describe farms : plantations : crops and animals as we spotted them. We stopped at a wonderful coffee shop, gift shop and bomb
Spot for lunch all before zip line adventure.
The zip line crew was fun and high energy and the safety measures for both COVID and the zip line adventure were fantastic and we had nothing to worry about at any time.
Juan was a wonderful tour guide! He was always on time, gave clear instructions, had a very good plan for all the stops and overall was very accommodating.
Would highly recommend to anyone. 10/10.

Fabulous day with so many things to see and do! We started at the coffee plantation where you can order coffee and some great homemade coffee cake before setting out. We then stopped several other places with snacks at each. My favorite of the trip was the "hummingbird" stop - you have to visit to grasp how unique it was. Ziplining with Juan was amazing - I was worried and he double strapped me up to ease my concern. I ended up loving every minute! Buy the photo/video deal so you have some memories to share - it was emailed by the time I was back from the tour. Lunch was delicious and the stop to soak in mineral spas was the perfect ending to a long but adventurous days. This will NOT disappoint!

I had one day in La Fortuna, so I wanted to pick the most productive day tour. What an amazing time!! Zip lining, rappelling, and the hot springs were all wonderful, as well as the cafe we stopped by to see many birds and a beautiful waterfall. Communication from Go Tours was also great and very prompt for booking and pick up.
