Overview
This white-water rafting trip down the Sarapiqui River lets you see the wilderness that makes Costa Rica famous with the safety of a guide. Even first-time rafters can have fun paddling down 2.5 hours of class II and III rapids while admiring the scenery of the Sarapiqui Canyon. Tour includes lunch, snacks, and optional hotel pickup and drop-off from La Fortuna or San Jose.
What to Expect
Your tour begins with pickup from your San Jose or La Fortuna hotel or when you make your own way to the rafting office in Sarapiqui prior to your selected morning or afternoon tour time. Plentiful parking spaces make it easy for those with private transport to drive.

Upon arrival, go through a quick gear check, safety briefing, and instruction suitable for beginners, and then hit the rapids. Your rafting guide provides clear instruction to ensure a safe and thrilling ride.

At the halfway point, stop for a fresh fruit buffet and a swim before continuing on. The rafting lasts roughly 2.5 hours in total.

Conclude your tour at the rafting office, where a traditional Costa Rican lunch awaits. Those who selected hotel drop-off will be returned to their lodging after lunch.

Fantastic first time Rafting

This was our first time rafting and it was fantastic fun, also when travelling down the river we could see Turtles, Woodpeckers, Eagles and much more. They provided lunch which was very good. ,

It depends on the transportation service but usually ranges from $24-50. Ask your hotel about transportation or the River Rafting company can also provide.
