      Chicago meets CR
Kenneth was very engaging and excitable. The tour was extremely informative. I had a lot of fun and saw a ton of cool animals (without disturbing their natural habitats). I definitely recommend the early morning tour to get out there before the other groups and before the sun hits its peak. The beach was a single cherry on top 😘

      Great night jungle safari tour
Excellent tour, Kenneth was an excellent guide. We took our 6 year old daughter and spotted a sloth, crocodile, boa, and numerous other jungle creatures. Highly recommend as part of your visit to Manuel Antonio.

Breathtaking Wildlife with the best guide Elias!
Elias was the simply the best tour guide we could have asked for. His enthusiasm and passion for the nature and wildlife at Manuel Antonio made this such a fun experience for my wife and me. His knowledge was superb and the sights were amazing!

      ATV Tour and Waterfalls!!
This was our last tour in Costa Rica and what a treat it was! My husband and I had so much fun going through the streams and viewing the wildlife on the atv’s. We also took a short hike in Rainmaker to see the pools and waterfalls. So refreshing after a long ride. Our tour guide, Armando, was amazing!! Made sure we knew what we were doing and stopped to explain vegetation and the animals. He also took some amazing pictures! Bring Colones to tip, they deserve it! Lunch was also superb! Was so nice and serene, complete opposite of the tourism chaos of Manuel Antonio! Pura vida! Thanks Armando 🙏

      Great way to see wildlife!!
Such a great experience!!! We did the 8:00 AM tour and it was such a great way to spend the morning. We saw monkeys, crabs, a baby crocodile, lizards (that ran on water), lots of birds, butterflies, a snake and at the end we saw a sloth! So fun. They provided us a delicious meal afterwards as well. We had Bayron as our tour guide and he was so great and knowledgeable!!! 10/10 would recommend.

What a great morning expedition with our tour guide, Byron. Highly recommend, as he clearly enjoys what he does and brings you along for the ride. I still can’t get over how he can spot the wildlife that is camouflaged against the jungle backdrop.

      Amazing tour!! Must do!
Had the best time on the night jungle tour with the people we only just met on the bus and our amazing tour guide, Byron!!! It was so much fun; we saw beautiful creatures and learned a ton in the process. The dinner and drinks provided were fabulous and tasty too. Definitely a must do tour in Costa Rica!!!

What a wonderful experience. My husband and I were hosted by Jade Tours to participate in a kayak trip. They were very helpful in contacting us ahead of time, ensuring we knew what time was the trip, asking if we wanted a double or single kayaks (we took the double). They sent reminders to us prior to the trip. When they picked us up in the van, our guide, Edgar, asked us questions to learn our knowledge of kayaking and how skilled we were. He tailored our trip length to our skill level. Our guide was so wonderful, we would highly recommend him for any tour you can get with him. He was so knowledge about the area, vegetation, animal habits, and spoke amazing English. He really wanted us to have a good time, and paced the trip so that we never felt too exhausted. While we’ve kayaked many times, he gave us some pointers to improve our skill level, along with using a laser pointer to help us identify small animals in the wild. After the trip we had a lovely dinner, and the opportunity to talk with others who had signed up for the boat cruise. As opposed to the boat tour, we really believe we saw so much more in our kayak experience. Thank you to Edgar for being a wonderful guide, and for Jade Tours for arranging an amazing and enriching experience.

The mangrove kayak tour was fun, and an excellent way to see monkeys and other animals up close! Our guide, Edward, was wonderful at pointing out signs along the way, even during the bus ride to the kayak landing! I can’t recommend him highly enough for his knowledge of the area and its flora and fauna. He even was able to recommend tours for the rest of our time there! The trip ended in a lovely lunch at a delicious typical restaurant, which we enjoyed. I do note some issues. First, the explanation said we would be given instruction in how to paddle, but that was not done at all on our trip. I could have used a refresher, the path was pretty narrow and I got jammed up against the other kayaks or the bushes in spots and had trouble turning around. It is also quite hot at the beginning of the trip because of where you start, which is in a muddy field that has no shade. You have to paddle for a while before you get to the actual shady mangrove area you see in the pictures. I am not sure, but it is possible other operators get you closer to the mangroves to begin with; our starting spot appeared to be behind someone’s private home that the company was allowed to use. Be sure and wear plenty of sunscreen! Also, this trip is not a loop, you paddle out and back. Therefore, you see the same things on the way back as you did going out, so the second half of the paddle is not interesting.

There are two parts to this review

    1. I would give 4.5 stars to the tour company. Overall no big complaints, obviously very reputable company with easy booking, prompt confirmation, good organization. The only thing is I sent them my exact address through emails in advance but on day of the information the driver and the guide had lead them to a different nearby location and a lady called me asking where I'm at and saying the whole bus is waiting. Well it's not my fault. anyway this got sorted out quickly and the driver and the guide were nice about it.

    2. I give the actual kayaking experience in Mangrove a 3 star. We saw a few crabs ,that's all, no other wildlife seen. and obviously this is not the tour company's fault and such is nature, but just keep that in mind when you book, because it's not easy to see wildlife here. The second half of the kayaking was so difficult, as we were against current. Everyone in the tour group ranging all fitness levels was beyond tired. So essentially all we could focus on in the second half of the tour was rowing the boat instead of enjoying the forest itself.

I would book other tours with the same company but I wouldn't do this kayak tour again.

We had a great time on this kayak adventure! We had a group of 15, ages 5-75, and we all loved it. Our 12 year old daughter managed a kayak just fine on her own, but I would recommend that anyone under 12 do a double kayak with an adult or older teen. The tour lasted about 2 hours, and we were able to see a few animals and the beautiful mangrove forest. Royvin Arce was our tour guide, and he was wonderful! He was very patient with our large group, especially with all the various ages and skill levels in our family. He was knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the area as well. I would definitely recommend this for a fun family adventure!

We had a wonderful time kayaking the mangroves with my 7year old girl. Edgar was a fantastic guide. The water was very mellow and relaxed, and my daughter was able to sit between us in the 3 person kayak. Edgar's voice was excellent at projecting and his knowledge was deep, especially about the salinity of the water and the ecosystem's response and coping strategies. We found it useful to stay near his boat to hear descriptions and see the wildlife (as I am hard of hearing). The restaurant we ate at was fabulous! Highly recommend for a satisfying day out in a completely unique environment!

Out of eight tours we went on in Costa Rica, this was by far the most expensive and the one where we saw the least wildlife.

There were only me and my fiancé on the tour (sounds like there are normally 7 people), yet we were constantly left behind by the guide who traveled 200 meters ahead of us. It was grueling with very little reward as we saw almost no wildlife.

Would have much preferred spending the extra time in Manuel Antonio National Park than going on this tour.

They took us to lunch afterwards but a $20 lunch did very little to alleviate the disappointment and a wasted 3hrs.

Hello dear client, Your tour guide was Edgar. He is one of the best guides and naturalist in all Costa Rica. He explained us about your complete experience. Your tour was private, as there weren't other people besides the two of you, so you had all Edgar's attention for your self. Edgar says that he told you the paddle-ding on the way back was gonna be a bit faster, as the tide was getting low, and you don't want to get stocked in the mud at the middle of the mangroves. This makes me think that probably you didn't pay attention to your tour guide explanations. On the other hand Edgar says that you did see a lot of animals during your tour. You got to keep in mind that a tour is not a warranty for seeing wild life. Kind regards!! Jade Tours Team

We did the Mangrove Kayak Tour this morning, and had an amazing time. Our guide, Edgar, was professional and very knowledgeable about the animals and plants along our tour. Most of all, Edgar was very patient and kind given that this was only my 2nd time kayaking and I was nervous for much of the time. My boyfriend, a far more experienced kayaker didn't need all the encouragement I did.

We would highly reccomended this tour, and Edgar as a guide.

We planned for a kayak tour, but due to the tide, we ended up taking a boat tour instead and did not regret it for a minute. Edgar guided us like a pro spotting out more wildlife than we ever thought we would get to see. We got up close to a small snake and a baby croc. We had a brief encounter with some monkeys and made a lot of great memories. CR Jade Tours was great to work with. Whenever we get the chance to revisit, we will use them for sure. Thanks, Edgar for all of your hard work and for making our trip awesome!

What a wonderful, relaxing kayak trip through the mangroves seeing animals in their natural habitats. Roy, our tour guide, was knowledgeable and professional. White faced monkeys jumped across the river, came close to us to check us out. Also saw ibis and herons, and interesting flora. Equipment was in excellent condition. We had to have an early start (6:30 am) as trips only occur around a high tide. After 90 minutes we drove to Quepos for a Costa Rican breakfast that was enjoyed by all.
