- 388maudea00WORSE COMPAGNY EVERWorse compagny ever. We had not been warned that the tour would be cancelled prior to showing up 30 minutes early and looking for the group all around the marina! Luckily, we met someone (about 40 minutes after running around the marina) that knew the guy and called him. He gave us a poor excuse and still haven't processed a refund for a tour they didn't even show up to! DO NOT CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPAGNY!
- F8792NFzoem00Lots of funI was a little nervous that this was going to be a waste of money, but it was a fantastic way to start off our Costa Rican vacation. The crew were friendly, professional and super helpful. It was a fun, family friendly party vibe on the boat. All the snorkeling equipment was provided (the water was very murky that day but we managed to see some fish and coral). The drinks and lunch served were a big hit with everyone in our group. Fun and relaxing way to see the coastline. Good for all ages and abilities.
- Freedom2521570878400Such a great experienceWe booked a private catamaran for our family of 6. We went along the shoreline, including Manuel Antonio park. We did not want to snorkel, so instead they took us to a beach area where we swam and there were so many monkeys in the trees at the beach. We were able to get within a few feet of them. Our crew, manuel was amazing.
- Max M00DisappointingThis was quite disappointing. Was very much an over priced tourist trap. When we arrived at the snorkelling location you could see the port where we started the journey from so it’s not much of a boat tour as it says in the description. Nothing to see in the water too. Whilst reading the description I also note they have put scuba-diving yet that service was not offered at all and they didn’t event bring the equipment for it. The food was great with pasta and kebabs, it was the best thing about the trip and the only reason this scraps a 3/5 instead of a 2/5. Overall, I feel very disappointed about the whole experience and left a little gutted I spent 400 dollars for my family of 5 to go on this.
- Mobile2792081170400Wonderful experience! Fun boat ride, great snorkeling, yummy lunch! We had such a wonderful time on this trip! We saw spotted dolphins, brown footed boobies and lots of fish while snorkeling! Miguel even helped us identify the bird waking us up every morning just from our recording of it! He was incredibly knowledgeable about all the animals & birds! Lunch was delicious, drinks were yummy and the whole vibe was just great! Highly recommend!
- ashmarpo100Planet Dolphin SnorklingWe used planet dolphin for a catamaran ride and snorkeling. Views were amazing staff was very friendly and accommodating. Food that was served for lunch was incredible! Would highly recommend!!
- R5840ZBfranciscov00to summarize it is a good choice 100% recommendedI decide to carry out the activity of the catamaran with the idea of evaluating the possibility of offering such an activity to my clients and I am nothing but super satisfied, super recommended
- Storyteller73255300MixedThe zip lines were very fun. Nice group of guys. The catamaran tour was fun. The snorkeling was short though and not great. Beautiful views. The timing said until 430 but it’s until 6. We waited 2 hours from when the zip line dropped us off to the boat and we could have gone back to our hotel. We also had no idea where to meet our tour. We did not see dolphins or whales which is why I booked it.
- mlobbsc00Fantastic - must doWe did the sunset 4 hr Catamaran cruise out of Manual Antonio marina. Highlight of our trip. Cannot say enough about the staff and the fantastic dinner they prepared. Fun all around
- eatingtime00Birthday FunWe went to celebrate my birthday and was a super fun experience! Delicious food and Cocktails were catered. Very attentive Staff…
- keithcharles198100Mind blowing experience! The tour we went on today was otherworldly! I have never experienced anything like this in my entire life! The boat, “the Spanish dancer“ was absolutely beautiful. The boat captain, Jeison, made it so enjoyable, and Francisco, our tour guide was filled with an incredible vast knowledge about the ecosystem and the animals that we had seen today! Viewing a humpback whale in real life is very humbling to see. We went, snorkeling, seem beautiful fish in the water, we watch the sunset. It’s really hard to say what was the biggest highlight of the tour! Francisco and Jeison we’re so accommodating and nice, and made us feel so safe! I would recommend this to absolutely any of one of my friends or family! Once, in a lifetime, experience is all I gotta say!
- JimGPortland_Oregon00Spectacular wedding party excursionWe were in Manuel Antonio for a destination wedding and selected the private catamaran sunset tour as the excursion the day before the wedding. The level of communication before the event and the ease of booking was great. The staff on board and the food were even better. We were a group of 50 guests and every single guest had an amazing time. They asked if we had a play list that we wanted and when we didn’t, they had an enjoyable mix of songs. Our age range was 22-87 and throughout the 3.5 hours there were non stop smiles. We followed several pods of dolphins and even had a brown-footed booby that sat on our roof for awhile as our navigator. When we stopped in the bay we were allowed the opportunity to jump off the second story deck or use the water slide and many of us did both. I would pass on the snorkeling and just spend time around the boat as the snorkeling wasn’t very good. They did have all of the equipment and we tried but weren’t successful finding the fish. We felt very safe in everything we did and the crew were all very friendly and accommodating. And the food was very satisfying. I can’t say enough about how we were treated. Thank you Planet Dolphin
- janetterick00Fun TripGreat trip out of Quepos. First, out to sea, where we saw a humpback whale and her calf and sea turtles, then off to a cove for a swim or snorkel, and then a traditional Costa Rican lunch on board. Staff was friendly and informative. Would recommend.
- erinc053100AdventureWe had a blast on this tour! We enjoyed getting to see the beautiful waterfalls of Costa Rica, jumping off some of them, and driving along the coast. Our tour guides were wonderful and gave us great insight into some history of Costa Rica along our drive.
- apanase00Tourist trapDon’t take the trip if you expect to see dolphins or any sea-life at all. We were promised a family-friendly snorkel trip. Instead we didn’t go snorkeling due to a bad water visibility (but nobody warned us in advance). They had charged full $80 per person and after a 2-hour boat trip announced that snorkeling wasn’t an option. They had known this long before departure. The music was hard and at 10:00 a.m. fist passengers were drunk already. It turned out to be more of a party boat than a family excursion. The lunch was very nice with a tasteful pasta salad and delicious tuna skewers, accompanied by fresh fruit. The drinks were also nice. So if you love (very) hard Latino music and cocktails in the morning, you will probably entertain yourself.

There was very little to demonstrate that this was an 'Eco' adventure. During the 4 hour trip there was a 4-5 minute commentary about Manuel Antonio park and a brief close up view of a protected island which is a key place for certain nesting birds. The catamaran then went further out to sea to find some dolphins. A small pod of around 5-6 dolphins was soon located which, along with 2 other catamaran, were followed for around 20 minutes. Each time one of the dolphins was spotted the skippers seemed to race their catamarans to be the first to get the best view for their paying customers. Dolphins will on occasion follow boats around and play in their wake but equally they can be bothered by the underwater noises from 3 large Catamaran engines heading for them.
Other parts of the trip were fine, depending on your viewpoint. The snorkelling part involved up to 150 people in the water (there were 5 catamarans at this spot), all heading for an area where a rock broke the surface. If you don't mind the crowds in the water and also don't expect to see too much marine life then with the warm water and sun on your back I am sure there is enjoyment to be had. Following this there was the chance to jump off the deck of the catamaran into the sea or use the slide and many on board really enjoyed this. The food was fine and the sunset as we returned to port was beautiful.
From chatting to others on the trip most found it enjoyable but please don't expect any demonstration of Eco friendly activities or any great detail of how this company is contributing to help this wonderful environment. This is a business operation much like the other catamarans operating from Quepos port but has just added the Eco label to try to attract more customers. It works because that is the reason I chose it and I certainly fell for it. Just because
you add the word 'Eco' to the company details doesn't mean it is an improvement on the other catamaran operations all of which provide very similar services.

Got picked up from our resort. Driven in a rainstorm to the destination point just to be told they had to cancel due to poor weather. We had two options: get a refund or reschedule in the next day or two. We couldn’t do the second day bc leaving the country so we opted to reschedule the following morning. However one of our children was not able to go due to another planned activity. We were told by two different workers that no problem we would get a refund for one ticket since they cancelled due to weather. The following day we told again we would get a refund for one ticket just keep an eye out for an email in the next few days. Never got an email. Contacted Expedia to request refund. This place told them no refund bc we showed up the following day (we sure did missing one person). Love how now we are out of the country they have no problem keeping our money. Plus I literally broke my tailbone from their gigantic slide that is unsafe (still in extreme pain 2 weeks later) and we couldn’t snorkel bc it would be too cloudy so they said (only reason why my 14 yr old wanted to go..another promise they couldn’t keep). They can keep my $80 and I hope this message deters at least one person from going with this place and will choose another business. Karma!

I do not recommend this tour. They blasted loud club music the entire time, and when I asked to turn it down, they said they would but did not. It ruined the experience of being peacefully surrounded by nature. In addition, we saw no wildlife - dolphins, whales, turtles, tropical fish. I wish I had spent my $160 (for me and my son) elsewhere. I recommend using a company more focused on experiencing the natural environment and not a party atmosphere. I can go to a bar if I want that.

I’m not exactly sure what I was expecting for this cruise….dolphin sightings, maybe even a whale or some sea birds. But when the 8 girls arrived with full back sides and breasts exposed in sight for all the passengers to view it set the tone pretty quick. They spent the first 45 minutes of the trip taking explicit pictures of themselves. It was hard not to notice. I think it completely distracted not only our family but most of the other families on board. Unfortunately the staff did nothing to stop it nor did i hear anything about wildlife.
I’ve been on many catamaran tours and none have been like this. It really wasn’t as advertised. There was no mention of wildlife, culture, shore line features. The snorkeling area was crowded with hundreds of tourists just bobbing in the water. There weren’t too many fish in the area as they have likely been run out by all the tourists.
We did get a decent meal and a beautiful view of the sunset. And I could tell the staff were working hard to give customers drinks and food but that was all.
I just wouldn’t do this cruise again. It was less than what I expected coming on.

We took this trip on our last day in Costa Rica and it was the perfect ending. The staff was great, the food was excellent and of course the scenery was stellar. The snorkeling was a ton of fun and we had a blast cannonballing off the upper deck. Even those who just relaxed on the boat with a tropical drink got a great show as schools of big tropical fish hung out by the boat (probably hoping for some lunch scraps).

We were to be picked up from our hotel at 7:30am. At 6am, I saw the email from Dolphin that the boat was having issues, so they offered the afternoon trip, which we accepted. They told us they would pick us up from our hotel at 1:30 pm, but when no one showed up by 1:50 pm, I called the company. They told me that the boat was still not fixed, and all trips were canceled for the day. But they did not call/email/text us to let us know that. By then, it was too late to find another activity, and the entire day was wasted.
We spent 1 week in Costa Rica, visiting 3 different cities. We scheduled 2 days in Manuel Antonio specifically for the National Park tour and this excursion. But thanks to this company, who did not have the courtesy to let us know the tour was canceled, we lost 1 precious day of our vacation. Had they told us by 12:00, we may have found another activity to do.

Dear Shinhee, we are so sorry about your afternoon plans to sail with us. For some reason the message went to spam and we did not see ur message until we checked the spam about 2:50pm that day... Unfortunately for both of Us this is a rare occurrence and we take full responsibility for this dropped reservation... We will like to make it up to you , can we send to you a gift package to your address? Something that your family would like on Us?
We are more upset about this situation than you are.... We work as hard as we can to ensure that our clients enjoy their time in Costa Rica... The person that you spoke with has been reprimanded. I wish that we could have done more to avoid this problem... Again, We are truly sorry ...

Overall a good time, boat was what I would consider moderately crowded considering similar things in other places. Inclusive drinks are cheap well liquors and beer isn’t included. Staff were amazing, friendly and attentive. Food was quite tasty.

The staff was very kind and made sure we had a drink in our hand at every moment. they spotted a pair of sting rays mating and a pair of humpback whales which was absolutely stunning. lunch was great, the fish kabobs were wahoo which just melted in your mouth. the drinks were basic but good. the tour itself was very nice. the catamaran has a 120 person capacity but our tour only had 8 people so it felt very private it was great

This catamaran cruise advertised snorkeling along with the cruise. Although we did stop for snorkeling, the waters aren't clear, and there isn't much to see. So, if you are booking this exclusively for the snorkeling, I wouldn't recommend it. However, you can swim while the others snorkel, jump off the top deck into the water below, or zip down either of the 2 slides. We took the afternoon cruise, which offered a dinner and cocktails. It was a very relaxing cruise and not too crowded. We saw dolphins too. The food consisted of a fish kebob, pasta salad and fruit. The staff was friendly.

We just got back from our Planet Dolphin catamaran tour, and it’s a must see. From the friendly and attentive guides, to the wildlife you see, the snorkeling and the amazing meal (the meal alone was worth it), this trip has to be on your itinerary. We chased dolphins through the ocean, saw pelicans and flying fish, and were up close to many bright tropical fish while we snorkeled.
Highly recommend this tour!

Yea I believe you can. Ask when you nook. The crew is very kind and hospitable. There may be a lot of people on the boat not in your party so keep that in mind. There is plenty of deck and table space.

No whales potted on our trip either (March) and do not seem to be a priority to the crew. We loved the catamaran and the staff was incredible but next time we will pay the extra to rent a private boat and go where we are interested in going/seeing.
