Excellent tour, excellent food, excellent guide, and a great value
The tour was perfect for what we wanted. We got to see the town, the monkey house, the boat tour was fabulous, the bus was comfortable. The driver was good and Hazel our tour guide was unbelievable! Knowledgeable, friendly, sweet, interesting. Then we went up to a restaurant on a hill with breathtaking views of the mountains, and the ocean and the food was fabulous! I would highly recommend this tour. They were very responsible in getting us back to our ship with plenty of time to spare. The pick up was simple, right at the end of the dock and they were waiting there for us. I can only say wonderful things about our guide Hazel, our driver and the tour. Very reputable tour company Odyssey Tours,!

        A day at the rainforest!
Very professional. Prompt Comfortable van Two thumbs way, way up to our guide, Hazel, who was incredible. Very knowledgeable and informative with a keen eye for spotting wildlife. She took the time to ensure we all got opportunities to see the wildlife and answered all our questions. If we return, I would ask for her by name.

Always a wonderful time with Odyssey Tours Tours!
We had a fabulous day doing the 10 in 1 tour. Our guide, Hazel and our driver, Michael were amazing! We had a group of 15 and everyone had a great time. All Odyssey Tours are fantastic. We have done many and would highly recommend Odyssey Tours in Costa Rica. Alvaro and Diego are the greatest! We saw so many monkeys, crocodiles and 18 spieces of birds. The lunch was delicious!

        Jaco - Costa Rica
I had a great trip to Jaco - it rained every day that I was there but I still got to see the monkeys and butterflies. I also went to a chocolate class. I don't think I will go back but that's just because there are so many other places I want to go. I would recommend going but not during the rainy season.

        Just OK at best
I was disappointed in this tour. First of all, I tried to communicate with Odyssey tours in the days leading up to our cruise, because I wanted to confirm the meeting point for the tour before we boarded a ship with limited , but they did not respond to messages through their email link and did not answer their phone. I finally contacted Viator and someone from Odyssey finally got back to me. Then, while on our cruise ship, the evening before we were to dock in Costa Rica, we got an email that they wanted us to meet at 0730 instead of 0800 "due to a change in the ship arrival and departure times" (there was no change in our cruise itinerary, so this was obviously for the convenience of Odyssey Tours). We did arrive at the meeting point at 0730, but obviously not everyone got the message, because we sat on the bus until 0800 anyway, waiting for the last passengers. The bus: A 22-passenger minibus with tiny seats and no leg room. I am only 5'8", but my knees were smashed against the seat in front of me. I can't imagine a 6'2" dude sitting in those seats. The back row of seats were raised, even though the ceiling back there was low, and the last couple to get on the bus looked at the seating and said, "No way" and left the bus. I can't imagine anyone over 5 feet tall fitting into those back seats. Our guide Hazel did speak English, but was sometimes difficult to understand due to her accent. The biggest problem though was that she did not use a microphone or amplifier, so we could not hear most of what she said over the noise of the engine. We asked her at least three times to speak louder, and she would, briefly, and then revert to her normal volume. She actually spent most of the drive talking only to the passengers in front of the bus. She never repeated their questions for the rest of us to hear, so we had no idea what she was speaking about. The "scenic overlook" we stopped at was mostly blocked by trees, but we did get a glimpse of the ocean. We went to something called "Monkey House" (according to the handprinted sign on a piece of old wood), which appeared to be someone's back yard. There were capuchin monkeys running and swinging around everywhere. Some jumped onto the guests' shoulders. If you like that sort of thing, great, but it was a little overwhelming for me. I got a few good pictures of monkeys. Next we went to the Hotel Villa Lapas, where they had a re-creation of a jungle village, with a cantina and a chapel. We did see some interesting plants there, but it was a re-creation, with a gift shop (of course). Next we took a river cruise on a tour boat. Had to wait 10 or 15 minutes in the heat to board the boat. We did see 3 crocodiles, though none of them were out of the water. We also saw several birds. The tour boat basically stayed fairly near the dock, going upriver a bit, then downriver a bit, and appeared to have engine trouble at one point, as there were 4 guys leaning out the back doing something to the motor for awhile. The boat was shaded, so that was a good thing. Lunch at an open-air restaurant was good. Chicken, beef, or seafood over rice and salad (though no salad dressing) with some sort of flavored lemonade to drink. After lunch, most of our stops were for shopping (3 stops). If we went into or through Carara National Park, I was not specifically aware of it and did not see any signs. I'm still not exactly sure what the 10 things in this 10-in-1 tour were. I counted the scenic overlook, the monkey house, the hotel with re-created village, the river cruise, lunch, and 3 shopping stops. This company needs to at least put a microphone/amplifier on their bus and not sell the back row of seats to anyone over the age of 8. I would not take this tour again.

        Not a good experience
We had a very disappointing experience with Odyssey. We book the tour several weeks in advance and were told to arrive at 8 in the morning. We arrived at 7:45 and was greeted by Diego. He said there were three seats left in the back. The back seats have a bulkhead so only people under 5 feet 6 inches could sit there. My husband is over 6 feet tall and would not fit. The bus left without us and Diego said that we were late arriving and that the seats remaining would have be adequate. I got upset and told him otherwise. DO NOT BOOK WITH ODYSSEY.

Costa Rica is a Nature Lover's Dream
Excellent trip for anyone who wants to see nature, flora and fauna of Costa Rica and Central America. We visited San Jose, the rain forest, dry forest, the beach and Pacific ocean. We learned so much and saw so much on this 11 day trip: Plants, flowers, trees, animals, monkeys, crocodiles, butterflies, bats, much more. The country is beautiful, and the people are welcoming. We highly recommend Odyssey Unlimited for this small group trip (18 max).

Good trip but not 10 activities
The trip was good but we didn't get to do everything that was advertised, which was disappointing. We got back just after 3pm , so we had enough time to do all 10 activities. We only did 7.

Great all-around taste of Costa Rica in just a few hours.
Fantastic small group tour! Our driver, Pablo, was so skillful getting around, and our guide, Alberto, was so nice and knowledgeable. I think my favorite part of the tour was the Monkey House. Imagine living in the jungle with all of those monkeys as neighbors! We saw a lot of different birds on the river. The crocodiles were scarce and lazy, which was fine by me. Lunch was delicious! The scenery is spectacular. Thank you, Odyssey Day Tours. Well done!

        Park and beach tour
I joined 11 other folks on this tour of Manuel Antonio Park. This is one of the tours that originates in Jaco, so I was able to get picked up in Esterillos Oueste. We stopped at a little bakery in Parrita where I got a delicious spicy and savory arreglada and some coffee. The guide let us know our lunch choices and put in the order ahead of time so the meal was ready when we arrived at the restaurant in Quepos after the park tour. The walk in the park followed the main path to the beach. We walked slowly and our guide expertly picked out multiple flora and fauna. He took photos through the scope and shared them with us after. We saw all the usuals. At the beach we had an hour to swim or walk around. **Notes about the park: Lunch wasn’t until 2 (no food allowed in the park ), so plan accordingly. I would have eaten two arregladas! Even if you have been traveling with and reusing the same plastic water bottle for two weeks, if it is of the sort that can be bought already containing water, it is not allowed in the park. You will have to buy an expensive, cheaply made plastic or metal bottle just outside the entrance, which the vendor will fill from plastic disposable water bottles. Lol.

Our tour Guide was on time and waiting outside of the ship port gate. It was a very hot day, and the van that carried about 14 to 16 people was full, comfortable, and had good air conditioning. Our tour guide Flora was excellent as well as the driver handling very difficult gridlock in traffic. It was a holiday weekend and this was unavoidable. This tour was an incredible buy for the price. We had a close encounter with white face monkeys who were friendly and jumped on your head or shoulder. We then went to see the crocodiles. From there, we went to a special spot to look for the Macaws. The guide knew where we could find them and we saw several beautiful macaws. From there, we went on a winding road high in the mountains where we stopped at a restaurant where for three dollars per passenger additional we had a beautiful beautiful view of the cloud forest below us. Despite the Easter weekend traffic, we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this guide, driver, and company. It is highly doubtful that a cruise ship tour at a much higher price could have given us a comparable experience as the sites we visited did not have adequate access to a huge bus!

he tour takes you out from Puntarenas into the surrounding countryside, first to a monkey farm to see some rescued capuchin monkeys, then onto a river to view some crocodiles from a road bridge nearby some souvenir and fruit shops, next was a panoramic view from a hilltop bar / restaurant, followed by a large souvenir shop to taste coffee and chocolate, back to Puntarenas to visit the lighthouse and a church. This was the tour guide (Monica) and the tour buses first outing and she was understandably nervous but settled into the role and passed on some useful information. The air con on the bus worked well but it would have been useful to have had curtains in the bus to shield us from the sun which was a strong 32 degrees C. The stop at the church was too long as we couldn't go inside and so could only walk round the outside / gardens looking for shade. Good value for money and certainly cheaper than the similar tours our cruise ship was offering and the pick-up point was adjacent to the pier where our ship had docked.

We were lucky to do a tour that was only us and another couple from the cruise ship. Flores the tour guide and her co worker, who was the driver made the tour very enjoyable. Flores was very pleasant and informative and we felt very safe being driven around. The tour was as good as we had expected it to be after reading many positive reviews. I would definitely do any future excursions with them. The pricing was fair and we were in a newer nicely air conditioned car.

We had the best english speaking your guide today named Ronnie, who went out of his way to make sure you were enjoying yourself and satisfied. The tour company should consider Ronnie very valuable as he recovered a mistake the operator made. Our driver Ricardo was also very good and safe. i would recommend the sightseeing tour but make sure you reconfirm with the tour operator the night before

It is a beautiful December Saturday morning, we joined a “Scenic Costa Rica” shore excursion of our Cruise Lines. Caldera Puerto is the main freight port in the Pacific side of Costa Rica.
Our bus took us through a sightseeing drive to Esparza, a town that is one of the most picturesque in Costa Rica's Central Pacific region.
Upon arrival of Esparza schools (elementary school in daytime and High school in night) a handful of kids dancers in colorful dresses greeting us. Our last stop was at “El Jardin”that’s a local souvenir and had an opportunity to browse around the shop, sample their delicious fruits or taste a Costa Rican cup of coffee.
On the way to the port, the Right Front tire of our Bus was flattened with a loud explosion sound. Luckily our driver managed to move our Bus to roadside safely. About one half hour later, another Bus took us to cruise ship safely.

What a wonderful way to see so much of the area in a short time! Our tour guide, Albert, was absolutely wonderful, so informative and kind. We really enjoyed talking with him and he went out of his way to do things that passengers asked about. He also knew just where to go to see the different animals. The scope was such a nice tough to see the macaws! We were on a cruise ship and had zero concerns about missing the ship, we had plenty of time. The driver even knew how to avoid a lot of the traffic that was backed up for miles and miles! Highly recommend!

Our day with Geraldo was fantastic! He shared a lot of wonderful information with us about the places we visited as well as the local fauna and wildlife. We were a small group of 8 with one member needing mobility assistance and Geraldo was very helpful and patient throughout our tour. Thanks, Geraldo, for being a fun, informative and flexible guide!

Had a great tour Guide Enrico and our driver Kiki they both were the best……. they gave us very special attention at each stop, helps me with getting in and out of the van (a newer Mercedes Step-van). We saw a lot, great shopping stop, took us to a great lunch stop, that I’m sure that only the locals knew about, they made a special stop for me to acquire a special gift that I was looking for then took us to a supermarket to buy adult beverages and water to take back to the cruise ship. Couldn’t have asked for a better day, thank you Enrico and Kiki. !

For a group that wants to take it easy and see sights mostly from a car, this was a great tour! Our guide Geraldo was incredibly friendly and easy to talk to. Each of the stops on the tour were interesting. We especially liked the stop to feed the monkeys and learning about the leaf that looks like an ear. The monkeys were surprisingly gentle and fun to observe. Our group was slow-moving and we never felt like we were being rushed along. Thanks, Geraldo!

Excellent adventure! Monkeys, Macaws, beautiful vistas. We booked a group tour, but my husband & I were the only ones. We asked our driver to stop at a farmers market and he gladly obliged. He was a new driver with this company but was very adept and friendly. For questions, we navigated through pics and typing.
