Robert is the best tour guide! He is easy to talk to and very knowledgeable about all the plants and animals you see. He goes above and beyond to try to make sure you’re having a good time and seeing as much wildlife as possible. We did a Manual Antonio National Park tour and night tour with him and saw more wildlife in one day than any other city we visited. Whenever we return to Costa Rica, we will reach out again to see if we can do more tours with him. Thank you Robert!

I recently did a tour with Travel and Birding in Manuel Antonio, and it was a fantastic experience! Our guide, Robert, was excellent. He had a remarkable eye for spotting wildlife and helped us see birds, sloths, monkeys, and more—things we would've easily missed without his guidance. Robert’s knowledge was impressive, and he explained everything clearly, from animal behavior to the local ecosystem. He also had a great sense of humor and made the tour feel relaxed and enjoyable. The pace was just right, with enough time to take everything in without feeling rushed. Highly recommend!

Robert was an excellent communicator about where to meet, park, and other details about the tour. We met Juan right outside of the park and began this amazing tour. Juan was SO knowledgeable about all of the animals, plants, insects, birds, etc, and he was so good at sharing really interesting facts in a fun way. He taught us so much in a short time- his explanations were really thorough and even though we’ve done several other tours on this trip, we learned so much from him! Juan also was able to find so many animals- we saw sloths (several!), howler and capuchin monkeys, many birds, lizards of all kinds, colorful crabs, birds that were so camouflaged we never would’ve seen them, spiders, bats…etc etc. He also made sure that we knew all about the park and some Costa Rican history that was definitely above and beyond the regular park tour. I highly recommend this tour- totally worth it!!

Great experience! Not only the views were amazing but I learned a lot! The guide was so knowledgeable. He showed us little frogs, spiders and very interesting animals, I would have never seen without him. He sent me the photos of all we seen. I loved it! I highly recommend this company. I just completed this tour today and it was really great. Bernie was our guide and he was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so many great insights and perspectives. And he clearly has super powers because he spotted creatures that were seemingly invisible to the human eye. Amazing! He was so in-tune with his surroundings and he clearly has a big heart for Nature and all of our animal friends. I initially spoke with Robert who was very helpful in coordinating parking, meeting location, etc. I can’t imagine a better time to do this tour than early in the morning. At 8:30 there was already quite a lot of people. But our group was small, just Bernie, myself, and another traveler. We saw bats, iguanas, frogs, beautiful birds, butterflies, spiders, and I saw my first sloth! Our guide took some amazing photos which he sent us via phone when the tour completed - I will post a few. The tour ended at an epic and quiet beach where I spent several hours swimming in the ocean. For someone who is not really into tours, I must say that I really loved this experience. I can recommend Travel & Birding with total confidence. Five stars.

Felix was a delight to tour the park with. His knowledge and enthusiasm made the tour. The trails are very walkable and marked well. The stunning beaches are worth it all.

Me and my family made so many wonderful memories and the tour guide was so passionate and knowledgeable. He spot Toucans, two-toed sloth, white face capuchin monkeys and many different birds we couldn’t see without him. The view on top of the hill is wonderful, as you can see all Manuel Antonio, the ocean and the lush green forests surrounding it. He cut us some fresh sugar care and we enjoyed it while looking at the sunset! On our way down we saw snakes and frogs, and also one scorpion! He was also a great photographer and we have so many nice pictures for our memories! ❤️

Lovely area. Very hot and humid. Really lovely park, didn’t see any sloths tho. Well worth going. Nice beaches, especially Hidden Beach, lots of space, not too crowded, bonus to see toucans, monkeys playing, lots of iguanas. Easy to find shade under trees.

If you are going to Manuel Antonio- book a guide!! If you want to spot wildlife and get more out of the visit, do it. Our guide spotted so many things we would have missed. They also help you take better pictures and speak to other guides so they know where the animals are during your visit. Our guide had something come up and was unable to meet for our scheduled tour. He found a replacement guide. We were so grateful that he honored our booking and saved our visit. (Eiderson was wonderful!) we were a little under the weather at the time and moving slower than usual, but the guide was very patient and understanding. We had a wonderful experience with this company and highly recommend! Very professional. They also offer free parking near the entrance which is a bonus.

Guide was great!! We saw so many different animals that we never would have seen without him! Only down fall was there were soooo many people on the trail trying to see the same things.

Robert was a very friendly and fun tour guide. He helped us find and take pictures of a baby sloth, all three kinds of monkeys, hummingbirds, bats, frogs, and more! I highly recommend booking a tour with him because you'll be with a much smaller group than the other tours through the park (we passed by tour groups of like 30+ people, when we were just 6) and he personalizes it to what you want to see. Very reasonable price and he can offer great deals on other activities as well. Muchas gracias Robert!

Robert was amazing! He was so knowledgeable, friendly, and fun. He is by far the best guide in the park. He is so well spoken & has in depth knowledge on all of the wildlife & ecosystem. We saw tons of animals. Highly recommend!!!

Took the tour this morning with Robert and it went very well and had a great experience. Saw lots of wildlife (both 2 toed and 3 toed, sloth species, Howler & capuchin monkeys, deer, lots of birds, lizards and insects.) Also enjoyed the gorgeous beaches. Robert is extremely friendly, informative and accommodating. I'd recommend you use him.

Booked a tour of Manual Antonio with Robert from Travel and Birding. Robert guided us on an extensive walk through the park and had a remarkably keen eye for spotting all kinds of life from monkeys to sloths to birds to fascinating insects. I can't remember the name but a highlight was a very small bird on the ground that is so well camouflaged it is almost impossible to see. Robert was incredibly patient in ensuring we saw it and grabbed a great photo. Also, first time we've seen a very active, I think young sloth, very close to the ground. Robert was attentive to our needs given the heat and humidity and a great communicator. He also was kind enough to arrange for us to take a whale watching tour at Ballena Marine National Park.

For Robert this isnt a job it's a passion. His enthusiasm about the local nature is contagious. I would highly recommend a day with him. During our tour of Manuel Antonio we saw many sloths, (which I would never have found by myself) 3 species of monkeys, crocodiles and many species of birds including 4 species of hummingbird.
