- E3690LFeduardos00Cheated by a better offerHonestly, I'm still surprised with this. We booked a herping tour with Manuel one month in advance. I had been chatting with him the day before. He wrote me confirming everything was perfect, we share even pictures of previous spots in other areas. We were in the parking place at the agreed time. We started to write him by WhatsApp 5 minutes later saying there was no problem with the delay, but no answer received...until I received directly a confirmation of the cancellation. No answer to the chat we used before, no explanation. We had avoid other activities because of this. My children were obviously sad. We expected an explanation. My son said maybe something happens to him(what could be understood), but if he was able to cancel the visit, he was able to send a short message. I spoken with people in Manuel Antonio that confirmed that this is his modus operandi: if he received later a better offer, he cancel the tour with the previous people with no advise. Indeed, in Monteverde(long distance from Manuel Antonio), another person confirmed me this. I waited some days an explanation, but he never do it. Very disappointed
- 583austinw00An Amazing Experience! We had an amazing time with Andrew! He answered all questions, found amazing animals and also, took time with us to ensure we had the best experience! We would highly recommend it and ask for him! First time in Costa Rica was made because of him!
- rikkis45300A little pricey But a memory we will treasure 🥰🥰🥰🥰The tour was fun! I wish we could’ve seen more. It is not in the National park but in the outskirts near some local hotels. Our guide was so knowledgeable and funny! Look for animals as he looks so you can see as much as possible!! Wait til you see the scorpions. So cool!
- stephaniep9100Worth the super early morning startOur guide, Johan, was extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to finding us all the birds possible. We hesitated to book because of the extremely early (5:30 am) start time. However, after other disappointing experiences where we thought we would see lots of birds but saw none, we bit the bullet. And, WOW, was it worth it! The reason I only gave it 3 stars was because the description on the tour said it was 6 hours long, included breakfast, and gave us access to the Equipulas rain forest reserve. Our tour, while amazing, was only 2.5 hours long, did not include breakfast, and we never actually went into the reserve. Johan found us lots of birds between Quepos (we stopped and got out of the car) and the reserve but he told us the tour was done about 2km from the entrance. Again, Johan was amazing but $135 per person is much to steep of a price for 2.5 hours and no entrance to the park
- ej51000Don’t miss this.Excellent tour. We didn’t see what we expected, but we saw many things that were unexpected — a taranchula, a baby viper, and the ogre-faced spider were my favorite. That spider spins a blue square net which she uses to throw onto her prey. Importantly, the guides were well educated and had safety in mind — when we spotted the viper close to the trail, he marked it and communicated with the other guides and groups so they wouldn’t miss it for safety or viewing reasons. Highly recommend.
- Jet9066000Save you money and time!!!Waste of time and money. Hardly any interesting wildlife. Guide was 30 min late. He hardly spot any animals, mostly were spotted by people on the tour :/
- LisaM1067900Excellent!My tour with Manuel was excellent! He was extremely knowledgeable and took us to many beautiful locations where we were able to see many of the amazing birds in the area. We spotted hummingbirds, numerous tanagers, a bucket list Trogan, and even a King Vulture. We finished the tour with a lovely traditional Costa Rican breakfast. I highly recommend this tour. It was definitely a highlight of our Costa Rica trip.
- jackjE5530EQ00Awesome to try- amazing guidesReally excellent tour with amazing photos and the best guide ever! Totally worth doing especially if it’s your first time.
- 497julianz00Excellent experience with a passionate guide!Manuel was a great guide! We chose the no transportation option and picked him up without a problem close by our hotel. We drove in the esquipilas rainforest and made stops to watch for birds. He is obviously very passionate about birding and we were able to see some fascinating birds we never would have seen without him and his scope. Very friendly and easy to talk to. We saw just as many birds at the feeders sitting for breakfast at the esquipulas rainforest lodge including a white-crested coquette hummingbird. Bring your own binoculars and get ready to drive on some gravely roads. All in all, definitely worth getting up early in the morning.
- CJanelS00AmazingManuel did an amazing job! This up from our hotel, and was with us the entire trip. We saw so many animals. He is very knowledgeable and his enthusiasm is contagious! It is a long trip to Corcovado from Quepos, but well worth it.
- kennethsT9857OD00An amazing birding tour led by a professionalI was blown away at how Manuel tailored my tour specific to my needs. Before we began, he asked what I wanted to do, and he delivered beyond my wildest dreams. I photographed a total of 17 species with my Z9 and 800mm lens. If you're searching for a really good tour guide, look no further that Manuel's Tours. Thank you Manuel!
- wichowskellem00Encounters with critters we'll remember forever! Our night tour was amazing. Fabio set our safety ground rules and took us into the park, where we saw amazing critters at every turn. Fabio was enthusiastic and excited to find the critters on the trees and under leaves, high in the trees and on the ground, and had an amazing eye for finding them in the dark. He had tons of information to share and knew the answers to all our questions. He also had a great sense of humor so we were laughing as we encountered all these wonderful creatures. And he took so many spectacular pictures through his spotting scope and shared them with us right after the tour. It was definitely a highlight and something we'll always remember.
- kathycL9350FM00Amazing experience! Highly recommended. What an amazing day! From pick-up to drop-off everything went smoothly and the guides were wonderful! It is thanks to them that I have some amazing pictures of the wildlife we saw which included a boa constrictor, coatis, tapirs, agoutis, spider monkeys, squirrel monkeys, an anteater (up a tree!), a golden orb spider, heaps of birds and butterflies, a bat, a sloth, an owl, hermit crabs, peccaries and even dolphins on the boat trip there. It was the most wonderful day with great people and will be a special and lifelong memory for me.
- jmwrmw00Pricey but worth itThe small group experience was fantastic. While there were other groups navigating the trail at the same time, our guide helped us to feel individually special and unique. Plus, they were an expert at taking photos through their monocular, and it was amazing seeing some things super up close through the lenses. They provided everything we needed, and were great at finding so many things, and telling us all about them.
- Flyer1250034056400Great tour to Corcovado parkOne of best trips we took in Costa Rica. Corcovado park is really great, we saw plenty of animals in park, as well as some dolphins from boat on a way back. Our guide Dylan was very cool, we had so much fun.

We booked a private guided tour, our guide Henry was engaging, we saw and learned a lot. This was my second visit and it was as enjoyable as the first. Bring water, wear comfortable shoes and plan to spend time after the tour on the fabulous beach!

Did the 8am tour with Manuel, it was so amazing. Manuel seems to know everything about the park, he was so informative and answered all of our groups questions. My main goal was to see a sloth and it was definitely achieved, Manuel made sure of it. Saw both species of sloth! Manuel’s equipment is state of the art, our photos are incredible. The most friendly guide we could’ve hoped for our tour, would not hesitate to use him and his company again! Manuel’s English is amazing!

What an amazing experience! Manuel was incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating. He knew the park really well. He had a very accurate sense of where different animals might be and shared his knowledge about their life patterns. The tour with him was the kind of exploration and learning experience we had been hoping to have and much more. I can’t recommend him strongly enough.

Excellent tour with our skilled guide Harold. He shared tons of great information and we saw all sorts of things - flora, fauna, and fungi - that we never would have seen on our own. This was our second tour with Manuel’s tours and we wouldn’t hesitate to use them again!

Ivan was a fantastic tour guide through the park! It was busy (and hot!) but he kept us distracted with sloths, monkeys, insects, reptiles, jokes, knowledge- it was a great experience! He spoke good English and was able to clearly communicate with us.

Thrilled with my choice! A private tour guide through Manuel Antonio National Park really is the way to go. This tour operator delivered in every way. From the transportation, getting you there and back. Getting us inside the park quickly and then straight away to spotting wildlife and viewing through the scope puts the sloths, monkeys and so much more in “plain view”. Our guide Dylan was amazing! His enthusiasm and passion for nature was apparent. He shared so much of his knowledge about the fauna and flora in the park. Being one-on-one with him, we were able to go at our own pace and never in a hurry or rush at the scope or when stopping to photograph whatever may catch our eye. Thank you Manuel and Dylan for a perfect day!

Henrry was our tour guide, and we had a fantastic time! We weren't planning on paying for a guide, thinking we would see animals on our own, but there is no way we would have spotted all the animals Henrry did! And he was so knowledgeable about the animals, and various history about Costa Rica. And he was able to use our phones to take some great pictures through the telescope!

Fantastic tour lead by Dayana!!!! She was very informative. We choose the option to be picked up at our hotel since we were staying in the area and they came at the scheduled time. I would choose the pickup / dropoff option if you are able to. This was a memorable experience and I highly recommend this tour! Pura Vida!

We are staying in Jacó and noticed the option w roundtrip transportation from our area. About how long is the ride out to the park, how long is the tour, dies tour include the beach? Do we have time to hang out at one of the beaches or do we immediately have to leave to get back to Jaco?

I think it was about an hour ride by car to the park from Jaco. We drove ourselves. The guides finish at the beach. You can stay until the park closes!

We will be staying in Dominical and driving to Manuel Antonio. Where would we go to either get picked up to join the tour or meet the tour prior to entry?

I guess it depends on where you could best park YOUR car. The tour guides will have no problem picking you up as it’s all a short distance. There is a parking lot at the entrance of MA park but I don’t know how much to park there. Best to ask the tour group for recommendations where to best park. We got picked up at the Quepos Marina

It’s a paved trail for the most part. I traveled with my in-laws who are in their late 70’s with back problems as well. They made it through just fine. Plan a little time to rest around the beach area. It’s about half way through and gorgeous. Enjoy!!
