          Excellent tour with Jeremy
Excellent tour. Jeremy was a great guide. We saw beautiful interesting birds, sloths, monkeys, bats, insects, crabs. Lizards, iguanas, deer, a beautiful beach and more. Jeremy saw things and showed them to us through his spotting scope or through his connected iPhone that we never would have seen. Very informative, pleasant, and responsive. The MA Natl Park is popular and crowded. recommend going as early in the day as possible even if you have to bring breakfast with you.

Get mangrove tour with Tocanes and Jeremy
We really enjoyed the boat ride. Jeremy was our guide and he made it terrific. We have been on a mangrove tour in the Galapagos and learned a lot more from Jeremy. He expertly explained the ecosystem and identified a variety of birds. However this particular time of year is not the best for birding since a lot of the migratory birds have already left. The boat captain spotted several iguanas and a rarely seen Pygmy Anteater, the smallest one in the world. It’s amaziNguyen that he found him since he only weights 1 lb.

          Great adventura
Very well organised from pick up to drop off. They drove us through a palm plantation and then up the hills along the Savegre river. The guides and the driver were really good and we had a great time. Everyone was passionate about their job and really made our day. It was the end of the dry season, so the rapids we more class 2, and they told us at the very beginning. In any case, it was our first rafting experience and we enjoyed it. Swimming in the river and jumping in was also fun. One of the guides follows with a kayak and takes pictures which we bought separately at the end. We then had lunch at their restaurant, which is on the main Costa Rica coastal highway. We could also change into dry clothes there. Food was OK and much appreciated after an adventurous day.

Hugo was absolutely amazing and we were so glad to have chosen this trip, The stables and surroundings are charming and the ride up to the waterfall was a blast. For all levels of riders. Definitely put on your list as a must do while in the Manuel Antonio area. Thank you, Hugo!!!

          GO RAFTING in Costa Rica!!
Our rafting trip on the Naranjo River was AMAZING! Our guide Orlando and our safety kayaker Erick were the best. They were super knowledgeable and friendly. It was just my partner and I on the trip and it was so fun. My partner is a raft guide and they treated him as one of their own! We enjoyed the trip and would highly recommend it if you want to go rafting in Costa Rica. We saw lots of wildlife and the whole operation was smooth and easy.

Incredible guided tour of Manuel Antonio National Park
We had a fabulous tour led by Brenda, an amazing naturalist! Brenda had an incredible way of picking out animals that you could never see in plain sight, grabbing them quickly in her telescopic lens, and making it easy for us to see them close up even though if they were high up in the trees. She also had an uncanny way of being able to obtain pictures on our phone through the scope for us to bring home. She provided tons of information, and taught us about the history of Manuel Antonio National Park, the beaches, and about birds, plants, trees, and animals. She engaged our two young sons, and the tour was incredibly informative and it was super special having her lead us there. We end of the day at Manuel Antonio Beach, which is an amazing place to catch a wave! Highly recommend this tour if you want information that you cannot otherwise know and to see animals you might not otherwise spot just from going to the National Park by yourself.

Tucanes is a full service tour company and their park experience is top notch.
We actually booked all of our Manuel Antonio activities with Tucanes. Melissa was key in helping us fit in everything that we wanted to do. We enjoyed surfing, the park tour, kayaking, and the crocodile tour. We did not rent a car, so having transportation lined up for each of the activities was helpful. Our guides were knowledgable and able to conduct tours and lessons in Spanish and English. I have already recommended our itinerary and Tucanes to our friends at home! The whitewater rafting really is season dependent - be sure to ask what level the water is likely to be during your trip.

Most exciting was the squirrel monkey! Having a guide ensures you see things you would not notice otherwise.
Our guide was fantastic and we saw some interesting things. The park is crowded and it was very hot. At the end we had to choose between staying in the park longer or enjoying the provided snacks and transportation back. We chose to stay in the park, but I think if I had to do it over, I would have returned with the group.

Beautiful day of kayaking and snorkeling in Manuel Antonio!
We kayaked and snorkeled with Warner at Tucanes Tours and it was awesome! Warner was knowledgeable, entertaining and fun. We had beautiful blue skies and the water was smooth. Snorkeling was very relaxing, although water was a little murky. All in all, another perfect day of "pura vida!"

          Magic in the Mangroves
Videos and research didn't quite prepare me for the actual experience of floating through these incredible expressions of strength, resilience, beauty, and pura vida. The road there freaked me the eff out but being greeted by Gustavo and welcomed into his home with his mom, Mary, and dad, William (who runs the boat tours). We got equipped with lifejackets, settled any remaining balances and placed orders for our homemade lunch (yes and it's fabulous) and ushered to the kayaks. Took a tandem with my daughter and we marveled at all that the mangrove offered - from tiger herons to the mangroves themselves - which were navigated one kayak by one kayak and watching my big girl move through a real-life Pandora -- priceless and magical. After the two-hour tour which involved our guide, Gustavo, hanging back for a bit to talk us through what we were seeing or hearing... and sometimes couldn't see like how this ecosystem has protected itself and the land the way it has... the dinner (we had it closer to 5) was magnificent. Yes, another casado. But an excellent one at that. If you got fidgety folks or don't like to get dirty or risk getting wet, take the boat tour. Also there are no croccodiles - do don't fear or don't expect them here. But do it. This is a beautiful fam of guides. Pura vida!

If you are interested in birds,Carara NP is a must.
On 26 March we had a guided tour of Carara National Park with Beto Rojas. It was an excellent tour and Beto was very attentive and knowledgeable about the NP and the wildlife that resides there. We were blown away by the birds Beto found. He took time to explain about the life and habits of the wildlife, including the history of the NP. Thank you for spending time with us. A big thanks too to Marlon our driver. Our tour included lunch at a local restaurant, which was superb. If you want a less crowded location, this the place.

          Excellent guided tour
Jeremy was our guide for 2 couples, meeting us from the hotel. He explained everything thoroughly and we had such an interesting tour. Jeremy's knowledge of the wildlife habitats was excellent patiently enabling us to see what we might have otherwise have walked past, especially the sloths! I can't recommend him enough as a guide.

This tour had the potential to be an amazing day trip, but unfortunately we had a terrible tour guide with us (a woman named Sylvia). She was rude, unprofessional and made inappropriate comments several times. I have worked as a tour guide for several years and Sylvia seemed to lack basic training and protocol. In smaller tours like this one, the tour guide plays a really important role in shaping your trip and we got unlucky. Other than that, the itinerary was good, the park was beautiful and the food served was delicious!

Our group booked the Manuel Antonio National Park hiking tour with Tucane Tours from Jaco. We initially planned on just driving to MA ourselves and walk around. We're so glad we didn't do that because we probably wouldn't have seen a single animal!

We got picked up at our house in Jaco, and took a short drive over to the Tucane Tour restaurant. We were served fresh coffee and a light breakfast. We met our tour guide, Danny. This guy was the man!! He had so much knowledge and you could tell he was passionate about his job, wildlife and Costa Rica. Within 5 minutes we saw bats, birds, butterflies and sloths. We stopped at the beach for a quick, refreshing swim. We hiked back to the gate entrance where our driver took us back to the Tucane Tour restaurant for a delicious local lunch!

This trip was 100% worth it. We saw rare birds, lizards, two and three toed sloths, monkeys and more! The trip included round trip transportation, breakfast, lunch and water bottles. I can't think of a better way to spend 4/20! -Pura Vida!

The driver and tour guide showed up on time, and were very friendly. Along the way from Jaco to Manuel Antonio we stopped a few times to learn about Costa Rica and their palm oil production. We also stopped in Quepos at a very nice place to take pictures of the ocean and then quickly stopped off at their office/restaurant for a breakfast of toast and fresh fruit before heading out to the tour. When we arrived at Manuel Antonio national park we were greeted at the gate by a frog and a big iguana. Touring the park we saw deer, agoutis, bats, sloths, raccoons, and two species of monkeys. The guide, Allan C. was very knowledgeable and you could tell he loved finding the animals and talking about them. When we made it to the Manuel Antonio beach, it was like we arrived in paradise, the most beautiful beach with clear blue water and monkeys running around. We were able to spend 45 minutes at the beach before heading back towards the end of the tour. After the tour was over we headed back to their office for a great lunch...if you get the chance, drink the tamarindo drink, it’s delicious. After lunch they transported us back to Jaco quickly. I do wish there was a little more time at the beach itself, but other than that, excellent tour!

The Manuel Antonio National Park tour was simply outstanding. Our driver met us in Los Suenos on time, stopped to show us a palm plantation and other flora before arriving at the Tucanes Tours office. Our guide met us, explained the activities for the day, and off we went visiting two local sites before arriving at the park. The guide, Maria Teresa, was nothing short of outstanding, knowledgeable, and went way out of her way to show us sloths, two types of monkeys, raccoons, bats, and other historical and interesting facts about the park, climate, and surrounding community. It was by far the best guided tour in many years of such activity. I highly recommend Tucanes Tours and especially Maria Teresa. Five stars plus.

This tour was amazing. Jeremy, our guide, was very knowledgeable and took great pictures of all of the animals we saw, which he shared with us at the end. We saw sloths, howler monkeys and various birds and lizards. I learned so much and throughly enjoyed this tour!

SUCH A FUN EXPERIENCE! Our tour guide, Warner, was an excellent guide! He knew so much about the park and was able to show us so many different animals that we would not have seen without him. If you’re going to Manuel Antonio, I would 100% recommend going with this tour company. We saw sloths, monkeys, different birds (parrots), and an anteater all thanks to our tour guide! They also offer breakfast and lunch with the tour. Very pleased!

Would have rated a 0 if possible. I’m sure the park would have been lovely based on all the stories we have heard and pictures we have seen. That said, if you want to make sure you get to experience it for yourself, DON”T BOOK WITH TOUCANES TOURS. They communicated multiple times prior to the trip, charged our card 48 hours out, and then failed to show up for our scheduled 6:30AM pick up time. We stood on the side of the road starting at 6:20am waiting for them. After nearly 45 minutes of waiting we called them only to find out they were sorry but weren’t coming……. Too many other tour operators offering this trip to Manuel Antonio to risk having this happen to you and your family.

The trip basically goes exactly how it’s described. Picked up from our hotel in a comfy air-conditioned shuttle bus (Jaco and MA are hot and humid!). Picked up more people from 2 other spots. Stopped by the tour company’s restaurant for breakfast, then we were at MA, stopping once to see some sloths (they’re in the tree tops so the guides have telescopes to see them better). I had read it would be crowded during the holidays, but we didn’t wait much at all which I’m assuming was because the guides knew how to be efficient. And we didn’t have to deal with the tickets or parking. Spent about 2.5 hours in the park, saw all the animals in the description, and spent about 45 min at the beach. Then back in the shuttle bus, stopped by the same spot for lunch, and back at our hotel by mid-afternoon.

All in all, would definitely recommend this company if you’re considering an MA tour. On time, efficient, food was good, small group (8 people total). Our guide, Allan (sp? sorry!) was awesome. Knowledgeable, patient, considerate. Gave special attention to my kids.
