We have used AXR for many years on our trip to CR. Keni and Gabriel are excellent guides they have always tried to show us different things on each trip. We prefer the buggy's feel like they are much safer. This past Feb.we had them booked and had to cancel part of our crew were not able to make the trip. Their cancellation policy is horrible and for that I will not use them again tho those two guides are super. Too bad they don't value a good relationship with past customers. I will use Piko travel from now on. They are very honest and trustworthy.

We had a great experience with AXR Jaco! We were able to book on short notice in the week between Christmas and New Years, which was a surprise. Our group of four (two adults and two teenagers) rented two ATVs for a two hour tour with a guide. Our guide Alberto took us up into the mountains and we were able to stop at a few different places to take photos and switch drivers. It was the perfect combo of thrill seeking and still feeling safe. Splashing through mud puddles and crossing a river were some of the highlights! 10/10 recommend.

We had an amazing time during the four hour exterme rainforest tour. Pepe was our tour guide, and he was well versed in the history of the country and the area we traveled. We were the only vechile on the tour, so the experience was not delayed or rushed. During our time, we went to two waterfalls. One had a pool where we swam, an overlook that allowed us to see Manuel National Park Ocean and a restaurant in the mountains with delicious food and coffee. We sped through mud, rivers, dirt, and paved roads and went deep into the jungle. Our time and money were spent. I highly recommend this tour.

Oh my goodness what an adventure! My friend and I were lucky enough to pick this place for an ATV ride. Esteban took such fantastic care of us! Seriously, he customized an adventure that met our wants and time restrictions, the land is beautiful, the waterfalls were refreshing. Hands down a must do adventure with Esteban and his team!

Patchy (Pachito) was our guide and we had the time of our lives. The views were incredible and the trills were endless. We went all the up the mountains, hiked to a rainfall and took the atv buggy through the river. Patchy was very knowledgeable and lots of fun as well. Highly recommend 👍🏼

Second time with AXR and fantastic ride again. Pepe is great as guide. The experience is very organized and the ATV provided works for an experienced rider like me. Thanks for wonderful day and I plan to ride with AXR next time I come back to Costa Rica.

Had a horrible experience. Reading a lot of similar reviews on this place with similar experiences! Major red flags from the start. They took a 7,000 deposit for all the vehicles my friends and I rented . When we got back they tried extorting us and we felt very rushed and pressured! I would not recommend this place at all. It’s a big scam operation and not safe at all ! No horrible communication. BEWARE

AXR (AN EXTREME RIDER) Costa Rica Off Road LTDA I recently had a very disappointing and concerning experience with AXR (AN EXTREME RIDER), also known as Costa Rica Off Road LTDA. On September 26, 2024, my friends and I rented 7 Talons and one ATV, putting down a deposit of $7,000. From the start, there were major red flags. I was pressured to name all the drivers and sign on their behalf, which felt rushed and unprofessional. We received no safety advice, training, or information about the challenging paths we would be navigating. Unfortunately, one of my friends, who was a first-time driver, rolled one of the vehicles. While damages occurred, the management claimed the cost was exactly $7,000—an amount that felt extremely suspicious. They then offered a cash settlement of $5,000, which I refused because I believed the actual damages were around $3,000. I felt immense pressure and decided to leave it on my card, hoping to dispute the charges later. I would NEVER recommend this company or any of its affiliates. They provide no insurance, lack professionalism, and prioritize profit over customer safety. This operation feels like a complete scam. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for an adventure in Costa Rica!

Booked the 3 hour with the waterfall on the buggie. Spent around 30 minutes at the waterfall, 30 minutes at this restaurant/bar at the top of a hill with a nice scenic view. I ordered a nice tequila sunrise and pina colata. The rest of the time driving. The guide offered to take a bunch of pictures and. Really fun tour went during rainy season and was super cool.

Our 2nd time with AXR. Got two side by sides and took off for a couple hours. Danny was our guide is just the best. He took us on a new trail that rocked. Our only regret is we should have gone longer.

AXR and our tour guide Pepe was the BEST PART of our Costa Rica tour. Pepe was genuine, personable, direct, transparent, and professional. He truly deserves a raise! We also did the horseback riding which was peaceful and healing. We appreciate AXR and one day hope to come back to Jaco for another tour!

Absolutely an awesome adventure in the 2 hour buggy ride. Our tour guide was the absolute best. Prepare to get wet and dirty lol. The stop at the bar/restaurant is a great touch. One thing to keep in mind that a hefty deposit is required.

ATV tour with Carlos as a guide was awesome. We took two quads as there were eight of us and some did not want to drive. The road was very scenic and we stopped several times to take photos. The waterfall was beautiful and the hike to see it was very well laid out and safe. Next stop was to jump from a small cliff. The water was very refreshing in both spots. The restaurant on the mountain was so good and probably one of my favorite meals while in Jaco. If you take this tour, make sure you ask for Carlos.

Very professional service and top notch equipment. I highly recommend this place. You can also rent and go out on your own instead of having a tour guide.
