Best combo tour, worth every penny
Best bang for your buck. So glad I did this tour. Each activity took about 45 mins , transportation in between. Was a jam packed and efficiently run day.

    Beautiful hike and area
The waterfall is beautiful, about a mile hike each way. The hike is relatively easy with not much elevation gain, but there are alot of stairs to go down and then back up to get closer to the waterfall, not for people with knee issues. It is fun walking through the rainforest trying to look for creatures. We only saw two snakes, but that was exciting and entertained by 8 yr old daughter. With the vines, everything looks like a snake and it was awesome that my dtr and I spotted on on our own. It is a long drive, I only recommend doing the tour if you don't have a rental car. You could do the waterfall hike, and sloth sanctuary and restaurant/bufferfly garden on your own and it would be much cheaper. It took around 3 hours to get there. At the sloth sanctuary you will walk with another guide there. Make sure to tip him, he made sure we saw several sloths, frogs, and toucans. We saw both two and three toed sloths. He was a young local that lives nearby. You will cross the continental divide. Our guide was very knowledgeable about CR and it's history and been in the biz for 30 years.

Good boat tour of the mangroves
5 minute or less ride from the Diria, it starts where the river starts. We didn't see any crocodiles, but saw lots of birds, crabs, and monkeys on the walk. We went in the morning, it was very hot if in the sun. It has a shade canopy, but with the angle of the sun and what side of the boat your are sitting on., you may be in the sun until you get into the mangroves. The boat goes slow on the way there, so not much of a breeze. Bring bug repellant and something you could pour water on to use to cool off. The guide cut pineapple on the way back on boat, which was nice!

    Great Estuary Boat Safari
Luis, our guide was excellent and had great knowledge about the nature and animals we encountered during the trip. We were able to see the mangrove forest and went up into some of the smaller channels of the river to get up close and personal with the forest. We saw crocodiles, crabs, howler monkeys, iguanas and many birds. We had cold water and delicious fruit too for the journey. It was a slow, relaxing tour and we had good sun protection from the canvas roof of the boat. Definitely worth checking it out!

    Great excursion!!!
Well organized, punctual, great crew and great experience!!! These guys do it right! From pick up to drop off, they had it handled! Boat was comfortable, bar was open and well stocked! The food was really well prepared, especially the barbecue chicken! Safety was always a consideration, and the captain and crew maintained control over a very “happy” group of people. Snorkeling was nice, saw a spotted eagle ray and a lot of tropical fish. A wonderful day trip, and the coastal scenery was fantastic! Highest recommendations!!!

    Brilliant in every way
Around 10 zip lines with the opportunity to stop before the really long ones. Fantastic safety and incredible views over the cloud forest. Do the superman, it is really worth the views. Not to be missed.

Fun tour to three beaches with kids!
We had a great experience with Jason, our guide, visiting three beaches on the ATVs. We brought along our 11 YO and 9 YO boys to ride with myself and husband. They loved riding the ATVs and then playing in the water at each beach.

    Wonderful
Our guide Ivan was great! Waterfall views were amazing and highly recommend the sloth sanctuary. Danny was almost superhuman in his ability to locate sloths, birds and frogs for us! Bring some snacks because lunch is served late.

    Best Excursion Ever
Someone at our resort recommended this excursion. My husband and I think it is the best excursion we have ever gone on. With the variety of activities, the awesome guides even a tropical storm could not take away the enjoyment. We would do it again.

Tour was exactly as described. Long day in a van but the waterfall, hike, lunch and jungle animal, sites were all great. Wish we had more time at the wildlife sanctuary.

    Very rushed along
There was a long drive to the first stop with a driver who may have thought that he was in a race! All the stops were well worth visiting but the tour was really rushed at every place we were rushed along.

    Great experience!
The Native Way tour to Rincon de la Vieja was AWESOME! Cesar took us on a guided tour through the rainforest, shared lots of information about the vegetation, animals, volcanic activity, etc. He was very nice, communicated well, was patient while folks took pictures and asked questions. We stopped at a gorgeous waterfall and had a chance to swim in the waters, grab a very good traditional Costa Rican lunch and then enjoyed some lovely hot springs. It would have been nice to have spent more time in the hot springs but I understand that we needed to share the space with other folks coming in to experience them as well. Thanks again to Native Way and can't wait to visit CR again and try Rio Celeste!

    Amazing hiking experience
This is truly a must do excursion. An unforgettable experience. Magdalena checked us in and made sure we had everything we needed for our journey. Enoc has to be the best tour guide we’ve ever come across. It wouldn’t have been the same without him. If you’re interested in this excursion please request Enoc, you will not be disappointed. The hike is beautiful all the way to the tremendous waterfall. Truly an adventure.

The tour guide was really nice and excited about nature and the ecosystem! He was knowledgeable about the area and wildlife as well. Kayaking through the area was pretty and we saw a bunch of crabs walking on the roots, some birds (herons and kingfishers to name a couple), and some fish.

This tour was so fun! Our guide was great, very informative and personable. We saw lots of birds and a few other animals. It was a good 2 hours of kayaking though, which is what we were looking for but should definitely be something to think about. Would definitely recommend!!

We participated in three tours in February 2023 (hoping the guide would change) and the below applies to all of them. I shared my feedback in an email with the company a few week ago, but did not get any response.
The tours are advertised as bilingual, but our impression was that one is considered quite a pain if you do not speak English. My son (5.5 years) only speaks Spanish and does neither speak nor understand English. On the first tour, he was the only non-English speaker. The guide expected me to translate for him. This was very disappointing for my son who loves to ask questions about animals and who could not understand why in a Spanish-speaking country he could not attend a Spanish-speaking tour. When I asked the guide to summarize in Spanish for my son, he did that a couple of times, but was rather annoyed and towards the end of the tour the summaries became less and less. To be frank, I did not even ask anymore during the other tours.
When we checked in at their office for the turtle tour, I confirmed with office staff that we would be dropped off at our hotel after the tour and she confirmed and told me to tell the driver where exactly. When I did that on the way back, the guide told me that he did not know about any drop-offs and that this was not his responsibility since he was not responsible for transport. I did find that quite annoying to be honest since it is indicated in the booking process where you are asked to indicate your accommodation and was confirmed by your office staff. Clear communication would be helpful here.
Finally, whereas on all three tours, we saw animals, we unfortunately left quite disappointed. We all felt that the guide was very little engaged while accompanying the tours. Whereas he managed to find animals , he seems to be missing passion and interest in sharing about his country. We felt that his unique objective was to have everyone take the mandatory crocodile picture or turtle nesting video whereas there could be so much more to a tour when a guide is really interested in sharing information about the animals, about the country, about the environment… We did not feel very welcome asking further questions or wanting to engage in a conversation which was unfortunate since this is at least half if not more of a tour experience (and we have met many super dedicated guides all over Costa Rica). His way of managing tours is rather mechanical.

It was really great to paddle through a mature mangrove forest, listening to the birds and spotting wildlife. Our guide was very helpful. We had a double kayak. Make sure you apply lots of sunscreen as these are open kayaks with no shade for your legs!

Kayaking equipment was well maintained and the guides were professional. We saw a lot of birds and went on a brief hike in the mangrove. The guides provided a pineapple slice and water. The guide was very knowledgeable.

This is a wonderful way to see some wild life that you can't see from the beach. A small boat with about 8 seats and a canopy to keep the sun off of you. Our tour guide was a young man about 30 years old. He took us for a tour that lasted about one and a half hours. He was very informative. He knew every bird, tree, plant and animal that we saw. We got out of the boat and walked through the trees to see the monkeys. On our way back he provided fruit and cold water. I would recommend this for all ages
