Lovely snorkelling trip to Las Catalinas islands (not what we were expecting as the trip was advertised as being a beach snorkel). On the boat trip to the islands we saw turtles near their nesting beaches and rays playing in the waves. The trip is really targeted at divers but we had a dedicated snorkel guide & all the other scuba guides were friendly & helpful. We were fortunate that the visibility was reasonably good for snorkelling at both the dive sites and we saw lots of beautiful fish. I wouldn't say this trip is an introduction to snorkelling as there is quite a swell around the rocky islands. Not recommended for those who get seasick as you're ok the boat for about 4hrs.

Ale has taken myself, my brother and my best friend to Witch’s and Ollies Point a few times over the years and every time was magical! The surf, the friends and the stories I still tell about those trips!! Life Changing!

First of all I'd like to apologize to Alejandro for not writing this review way sooner. Now realizing that I had never done so after we got back home, but I guess better late then never.. That being said I would like to thank him for a very professional, patient, knowledgeable and fun experience. From picking my wife and I up at our villa to taking his time to teach us basic fundamentals and safety on the beach and then getting in the water to surf. We had an awesome time and made many memories that day. Alejandro is a true teacher and this is something you can see he genuinely enjoys doing. We both agree our favorite part of the day were the couple party waves we caught together. I would not hesitate to recommend Alejandro and Seafari. We both cannot wait to get back to this beautiful country and especially Tamarindo. Thank you again! Ken and Stephanie W.

Our family of four had a great snorkeling trip with Alejandro at Playa Mina, a beautiful secluded beach near Tamarindo. Alejandro was a fantastic guide. He was personable and shared his love and knowledge of Costa Rica with us. It felt like we were out with a good friend. We hired many guides on our trip and he was definitely our favorite. Book him if you can!

Our instructor,and tour guide Alejandro was great as we are novices at snorkeling. His instructions and assistance made us comfortable with the snorkeling experience. He picked us up and drove us to a private k,less touristy location, provided all the necessary equipment and a light lunch/snack and drove us back to our B&B. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Do yourself and a favor and BOOK Alejandro from Seafari Costa Rica if you are visiting Tamarindo. Absolutley the BEST instructor I have ever had with anything. Have tried surfing many times throughout the years with no success.. but Alejandro’s gift of patience, understanding, breaking things down, and really teaching you building blocks step by step until you get it... made it happen for me! I was SURFING...... Yes! Very professional, quick at responding, curb side service (picked us up at our casa), and also played tour guide along the way. Helped with recommendations, and Has many talents. Helped us set up diving and was our guide on that as well. Very honest and would trust him with any member of my family. Works with all ages, body types, and personalities... nothing he cant handle. Feel like we gained a life long friend and look forward crossing paths with him sometime again. Pura Vida!

Did a first time 5 day lesson/camp with Alejandro. He does a great job of putting together a program to introduce you to all aspects of surfing. Highly recommend.

Three girls, 10, 12 and 14 years, did have had their first surflesson. All the girls ruled the waves and they really loved it! Alejandro is a really good theacher and is very much fun. We recommend him very much.

Alejandro was great with our youngster, had surfing tips for our older boys, knew how to keep the young one relaxed and having fun, and was willing to take breaks and just go swimming with him...Alejandro is great!

My girlfriend and I were in Tamarindo for a few days and booked a surf lesson with Alejandro. This in itself was a miracle as my girlfriend is deathly afraid of the ocean. She is a good swimmer, but has an insurmountable sea phobia. Somehow Ale was able to convince her she would be fine and could just basically hang on the board floating while I surfed and that he would NOT let go of her board. I am a riding instructor and greatly appreciate the possible perils of sports that LOOK easy but are fraught with hidden dangers. Alejandro covered all the necessary safety points and took great care to impart the importance of safety. I should mention that I am a self taught " Advanced Beginner " surfer with loads of bad habits. Alejandro patiently addressed them all and got me on track to actually correctly learn to surf. He has a GoPro which he uses to shoot pictures and videos that he sends to you later for great memories. Without those NO ONE would have believed my GF when she said she had gone out in the surf on a board. Alejandro is the best. Very professional and making all the learning lots of fun.

My husband and I took surf lessons with Alejandro and we were very satisfied with his professionalism. He adapted his teaching to our level, but he also adapted to our family situation (we have two young kids and grandparents with us). The lessons went beyond our expectations. If you're for snorkeling, scuba or surfing you must use Safari. Alejandro and Tatiana took us on a private snorkeling trip to The Bay of Pirates, a beautiful pink sand beach with the most amazing rock cliffs. We were able to see dozens of different types of fish as we made our way to a small beach at the end of the cove. After snorkeling for two hours+, we spent some time picking up rocks and enjoying a delicious pineapple before returning to Villa Andaloucia (the best place to stay in Tamerindo.)

My friend and I recently traveled to CR for some relaxation, but mostly for surfing. We were referred to Alejandro and very thankful we were. I recently surfed in Nica and the instructors were good, but not nearly as good as Alejandro. He's a true professional and the passion he has for surfing, diving, etc is reflected in the way he teaches and coaches you. You WILL surf with him and you'll improve even if you've surfed before. He goes above and beyond to document your lessons with his GoPro to help you improve, as well as capturing incredible memories. Book lessons with him. You will be very happy that you did.

Ale is a friendly confident coach who's love of surfing and Costa Rica is inspiring. He provides an excellent experience for every level of surfer. Ale is a wealth of knowledge far more than just surfing. Highly recommended! We hope to share more waves with Ale.

I have surfing for years and not getting any better. So I booked two days of lessons that were photographed so I could review my bad habits and get tips from Alejandro about how to improve. I was so amazed when I saw the pictures and what I needed to work on. The second day was a little better, and I believe that because of these great sessions with a kind, positive and helpful Alejandro I can up my surf level
