I just want to express how much we enjoyed this tour. Cesar was the most wonderful guide. The family who owns the plantation were kind enough to accommodate us before the start of the official tour and Cesar our tour guide gave us a shorter version of the tour. We Are so happy we stopped by because we learnt all about the process of making organic chocolate. We danced, we sang, curated our very own bar of chocolate, made and drank hot chocolate like the ancient Incas. We loved the fact that this place was not like one of the commercial tours in La Fortuna. Highly recommend coming here for a coffee tour.

Our MOST favorite tour in Costa Rica!!! Our guide, Yerixa (sp?), was so knowledgeable and friendly. She completely made the experience come alive with her songs and fun details.

We picked this tour over other chocolate tours because of how hands-on you get to be with opening a cacao pod and tasting the fruit, milling the cacao nibs for the drink of the gods, tasting fresh melted dark chocolate making the hot chocolate and the bon bons. It was epic and unforgettable!

This was a really cute and fun tour. We learned about the process of making chocolate and even got to make our own bon bons. You get to try the chocolate with a variety of difference toppings so you will leave with a big sugar rush. I recommend wearing closed toe shoes, having a rain jacket, and bringing insect repellant spray as the tour is on a little farm.

We had a great and delicious time at Eden Organic Farm. We started with a walk through the cacao trees, and learned more about the cacao fruit itself. Then we visited the actual production area of the farm before getting to a covered area where we got to the hands on part of the tour. Everything was set up for us to taste chocolate (with lots of different toppings), make our own candies and make “the drink of the gods” from scratch. We learned more about the historical use of cacao in Mayan and Aztec cultures during this part, and our guide did a great job of keeping her energy up (with singing and chanting!). After the tasting part of the tour, we walked back to the office and bought some delicious souvenirs. It was a fun tour, and I’d recommend this one for anyone looking for a chocolate tour in the Arenal area.

Our guide was very knowledgable and kind on the Chocolate Tour. She suggested we apply bug spray for the tour which we did but there were very few mosquitos. We toured the cocoa farm and learned about the cocoa trees and fruit. I especially enjoyed making bonbons and adding our own custom blend of ingredients. My favorite was cinnamon, cardamom and sea salt. My husband enjoyed peanuts with sea salt. The chocolate was so good we ended up purchasing more in La Fortuna at the Fusion Cafe. We highly recommend this tour. I appreciate this is a small local farm and using organic farming practices.

This tour was not high on my list of things to do while in La Fortuna. I'm a chocoholic and thought I had a decent enough understanding of how it's made, but our friends wanted to go, so my husband and I joined them. I'm happy we did! Our guide walked us through the plantation and explained the entire process, including the challenges in growing and harvesting the cacao. We tasted different variations of chocolate and made some of our own. There was an entertaining little challenge involved with a few who wanted to participate, which made for some good laughs. It was fun and educational in the perfect amount of time. My only suggestion is to wear bug repellent. Our guide suggested it as we started the tour, but we hadn't brought any with us and none was provided. There is only one area on the tour where you'll need it. The mosquitoes weren't too bad, unless you're the type that attracts them...like my husband, who came away with a couple bites.

We had a great time! We were lucky enough to happen to be on a private tour, but based on what our guide said the groups are never large to begin with. It was a lot of fun, and everything we ate was delicious. Wear bug spray!

We went on the chocolate tasting tour and had a fun time. Walked through the small cacao farm and learned about the growing process and then got to make our own chocolates along with learning about the history of chocolate and tried the original “drink if the gods.” Tour guide made sure everyone got involved in the chocolate making and of course the chocolate was very good.

My wife wanted to do a chocolate tour and after I reluctantly agreed, we booked with "Eden" Organic Farm. Our guide (I believe it was Miguel) was exceptional, informational and patient with my two 12-year old boys. We were taken through the intensive process of making dark chocolate and rewarded with creating our own delicious bon bons. Some of the best dark chocolate I've ever tasted.

Unlike some, this was an excursion we're grateful a fellow traveler recommended. It was a good value, and the staff was great. We arrived early for our tour, and they graciously gave us lattes while we waited. The owner was doing some garden maintenance and gave us a little education on pineapples in spite of my terrible Spanish and his limited English. Our tour guide, Ceasar was a delight...an expert in his subject and a born entertainer. He made making our chocolate bon bons fun and educational. Afterwards our granddaughter loved playing in the little playground while we were mesmerized by a number of lizards in the trees around us. We would definitely recommend this one!
