- melaniemG7010GM0 contributionsPerfect tourTour guide Val was amazing and was the perfect adventure for active hikers! Was very rainy so we didn’t get to swim or see the top of the volcano. Bring water proof shoes!Written January 16, 2025
- Patty S0 contributionsFantastic day! Enjoyed this excursion w my husband and our two adult children & their spouses. HIGHLY recommend! Our guide, Angelique, was so personable & engaging. She answered all our questions and was excellent at pointing out monkeys, sloths, snakes, a tarantula, wild pigs. She had a great sense of humor and easily interacted with all the members of our group. The lunch was very tasty and filling. Overall my entire family agreed that it was a spectacular way to spend our day!Written January 14, 2025
- Resort355395835150 contributionsFun all-day tour!It was raining so we didn’t see the volcano but Angelica made this a great tour for us. She was very knowledgeable and funny. The provided lunch was great. We couldn’t swim by the waterfall because of the rain but it was still worth it overall. Definitely pack ponchos if it’s going to rain!Written January 14, 2025
- H4530DTemilyw0 contributionsBest part of the tripJuan Carlos is the best guide ever. He went above and beyond to make sure the group was enjoying themselves and spotted a ton of animals that we otherwise would not have seen. He is also super funny and kind. It was the best introduction to CR that we could’ve asked for, book here only!!Written January 13, 2025
- 439neals0 contributionsAmazing tourVal was really knowledgable and entertaining, and she pointed out a lot of wildlife that we otherwise would not have seen. Loved the tourWritten January 12, 2025
- WashingtonianNative0 contributionsHighly RecommendWe had a wonderful tour guide! She was professional and very knowledgeable. The hanging bridges offer a great view into the rain forest. Unfortunately it was raining, which the tour guide explained makes it more difficult to see the animals. We did see the yellow viper and a monkey though. Then we toured around the volcano and the rainy weather obscured the view of the volcano but fortunately we did get a momentary glimpse, long enough to snap a few photos. We skipped the waterfall part because swimming was prohibited because of the weather and because we had already glimpsed the waterfall on a different day. We had a lovely lunch through the tour at nice little restaurant. The tour guide did an A-plus job.Written January 11, 2025

- jasoncX615XJ0 contributionsIgnacio "Nacho" made this trip fantastic. The park is amazing. What an amazing tour. My large family (5 boys ages 14-24 plus my 85 year old mom) spent a half day at the park. Our guide Ignacio ("Nacho") was fantastic. With a degree in wildlife biology he knew something about pretty much everything we were looking at. He was very helpful in arranging a shorter route for my mom and enlisted the driver to help with that. The scenery is jaw dropping and the bridges are fantastic. We got very lucky at the end and saw a large group of spider monkeys (at least 13) moving through the canopy right over our heads on the last bridge of the day. One even made a bridge with her body between two trees for a juvenile monkey to cross over on. What a special experience!Written January 3, 2025

- D1288BBannep0 contributionsMagic moment on a rainy dayOur guide did his best to make the most of a very rainy day, but we weren't able to fully enjoy the forest due to the heavy downpour. For future visitors, I recommend dressing appropriately for the unpredictable weather. Layer up: Wear a light shirt and bring a warm hoodie to stay comfortable. Footwear matters: Sandals and open-toed shoes are not permitted within the bridge forest. If rain is in the forecast, bring waterproof boots instead of running shoes, as they can get soaked and stay wet for the rest of the day. Overall, I highly recommend this tour. The bridges are truly impressive, and the forest itself is breathtaking. The trails leading to the volcano are unique, even though we weren't able to see the volcano itself. The tour is really informative. My only suggestion for the guide: Encourage participants to occasionally pause and listen to the sounds of the environment. This would allow everyone to fully appreciate the natural soundscape.Written December 25, 2024
- Tammy D0 contributionsInformative and funDespite the rain, we really enjoyed the three activities, as well as lunch. Juan Carlos was a great tour guide was very informative on the sites, vegetation, animals, and history. He made sure to stop with his scope to help us find animals that we would not have seen on our own.I would recommend this tour.Written December 19, 2024

We loved our tour with Raul. It felt like a perfect option to do with kids - it lasted about 4 hours in total (including driving there and back from The Springs Resort) and was a pretty relaxing way to see wildlife and experience the beautiful and peaceful river. We saw tiger herons, a basilisk, bats, howler monkeys and iguanas. It was a bonus to visit a local cafe at the end of the tour where we enjoyed some absolutely delicious snacks - I will be thinking about the banana bread for a long time! Thank you Raul for being such a wonderful guide. Pura Vida!

Our experience with Green Vacations was THE BEST. Even though it was unseasonably rainy during our trip, and the river was a little high and fast, our guide Wilbur and driver Ronald were confident that the trip would be safe, and it definitely was. The river was moving well but not too fast, and we got to see a howler monkey with a baby, white-faced capuchins, several varieties of birds including several toucans, and iguanas. At the end of the trip, a snack from a local cafe (more like a small meal) was delicious. The bird-watching at the cafe was also excellent. Pickup from our resort was on-time, and Wilbur was an excellent source of information about all of the wildlife that we saw. We will definitely book again!

Love this experiences and it was pretty chill! The guide Pepe (I hope the spelling is correct) is super helpful. He would try his best to get the best view of wild animals along the way. We saw multiple kinds of beautiful water birds, as well as monkeys and sloths. Snacks and drinks at the end were quite nice too.

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica. 110% recommend Raul and this tour. Raul has a great energy and enthusiasm. His passion for the outdoors and beautiful Costa Rica are palpable. We were able to see so many animals that we would have completely missed if we had been floating down the river on our own. Not only did Raul find monkeys, but he talked to them as well which was quite entertaining. We came away from the tour with a greater sense of awe for nature and all the wonderful kinds of animals in this world, as well as a greater love for the beautiful country of Costa Rica. Five stars for Raul and the Green Vacations company.

We were picked up at our hotel by a van driver and our guide and driven about 20 minutes to the river ingress point. Anjelica, our wonderful guide, gave us pointers about how to hold the paddles and directed us to where to sit in the inflatable raft. Off we went! The river had a mostly gentle flow, it never got too rough, and we only had to paddle occasionally. As we floated downriver, Anjelica gave us information about the flora and fauna of the area, as well as about all the animals we were seeing. White-faced capuchin monkeys, howler monkeys, caiman alligators, iguanas, huge termite nests, all sorts of birds- we saw them all on this trip.
After getting out of the boat, we had a short walk to a farm where were were served the most delicious banana bread we have ever eaten (I got the recipe from the cook!), delectable fried plantains, and a special cheese that went great with the plantains. Coffee and fresh juice was also on offer. After that, it was back to the hotel.
I would love to do this tour again. It was relaxing, educational and fun. Well worth the price!

This was a great experience for our family!
The tour was well organized including transportation from/to our hotel. Our tour guide, Roy, was very knowledgeable and pleasant. The tour itself was very safe and definitely not crowded. We were able to see a good number of animals along the way while our guide provided a lot of interesting information along the way. At the end of the tour we enjoyed drinks and a small meal made by a local family. Definitely a great experience if you are exploring la Fortuna

This was the perfect excursion for our family. We have 2 young children (2.5 & 4.5 years old) and after the Mistico Hanging Bridges (also great!) were at a bit of a loss as to what to do for our last day in the Arenal area. Green Vacations Wildlife Safari Float was just the ticket! Our guide, Roy, and driver, Hector, were wonderful and we enjoyed every minute of the manageable drive from our hotel, peaceful float (where we saw bats, birds, a turtle, spiders, & tons of howler monkeys), visit to a lovely farm, and the return shuttle trip even included a toucan and scarlet macaws! Thank you also to Karla in booking who helped us tremendously :)

Lovely day with our guide. The 3 of us booked a private tour. Our guide could spot animals and birds that were blending into the environment. I don’t know how he did it, but he did. He kept us safe which is important. The howler monkeys were amazing. They were being chased by another animal. I can’t remember the name but apparently it’s not a usual sighting.

The River Tour was absolutely fantastic! We had a very knowledgeable guide, Angelica, who told us about all the local towns as we drove to the river from our hotel.
Then continued to show us lots of animals whilst we were on the river. It was incredibly peaceful, and we managed to see Howler Monkeys, White Faced Cappuccino Monkeys, Toucans, a Kingfisher, an Osprey. All whilst being told of the local community and history of Costa Rica.
After the tour, we then had a beautiful juice drink and coffee with some corn bread, cheese and the best plantain I've tasted.
Definitely worth the trip if you have the chance!
