About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- gl0rianaz0 contributionsGreat hotel but could offer better foodExcellent experience at the hotel. Great view of the volcano, lots of hot springs to use and good staff. BUT the food is not that good. We had dinner the first night and we had to return a couple of the plates because they were not good. And the server of that night was not good either. Yet the rest of the staff were real good and the room was super clean and modern. I would definitely come back.Written September 7, 2024
- bela202020 contributionsNice placeIt is a beautiful place to spend time! But in our case my room was beautiful, jut the refrigerator was not working at any time ! The customer service was nice ! A little overpriced for the drinks !Written May 27, 2024
- travel2Colorado0 contributionsDisappointing visitWe decided to stop by at this hot spring based on the good reviews. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed . There are two big pools and a few small ones attached. There was work being done on of them which they didn’t mention on the webpage. The place itself needs updating and you can see it in different areas. I guess most of the reviews were done by visitors who were on tours and got there in the evening. Definitely it not worth the $43 entrance fee.Written May 26, 2024
- aurorawell0 contributionsDon't go for the dinner optionWe went to this place for the evening for the hot springs and dinner. We would recommend skipping the dinner option altogether as the buffet food was not great quality, not well cooked and not very tasty and also with no alternatives for vegetarians/vegans. The hot springs were warm and relaxing and mostly full of young American tourists. The changing rooms and locker facilities were dated and tired. The cocktails were nice but on the expensive side.Written May 17, 2024
- holly21210 contributionsBeautiful hot springs, buffet less than greatMy wife and I spent an evening at Paradise Hot Springs on a day pass. It was absolutely relaxing, beautiful, and refreshing. The only thing we suggest is that you do NOT get the buffet dinner. It was underseasoned and overcooked and definitely the worst meal we had in Costa Rica. The swim up bar has a bunch of “snack” options that could definitely be whole meals - highly recommend doing that instead (it’s also cheaper!).Written March 28, 2024
- Emarie10 contributionsDate night at the hot springsWe had a room for the night and liked the space and the safety of it all. Large rooms and helpful staff. At night the hot springs were perfect for soaking and star gazing after a long day of exploring.Written March 26, 2024
- NikNak23680 contributionsSkip the line Paradise Hope Springs day ticketWe had a great day relaxing at the hot springs. We had been warned it gets really busy and maybe we were just lucky but it was perfectly fine! We got there just before opening time at 11am and stayed till about 2pm. The pools were lovely and clean apart from a few leaves that fall during the day. All areas were spotlessly clean but special mention must go to the bar area at the back with the most fabulous views of the countryside with an uninterrupted view of the volcano - superb.Written February 18, 2024
- pierre-qc0 contributionsHell in Paradise Hot SpringsOutdated. Crowded. Poorly managed pool bar (noisy, drunk people tolerated...) Don't even think you can relax there. The place is an absolute nightmare.Written February 7, 2024
- mommyyoga0 contributionsExcellent Natural Hot Springs, Skip the MealWent to Paradise after a day of white water rafting. Perfect end to the day to just relax and warm our muscles. Went with my family (parents + 2 kids ages 12 and 9). They had pools of various warm to hot temperatures. There was a swim up bar, and kids had a great time. We chose the day pass with meal and likely didn’t need the meal. It was a buffet style - decent food, good variety but not excellent. If you’re looking for a more rustic and natural feeling hot springs, this is the place. It doesn’t have that posh feel, which is exactly what we were looking for.Written January 1, 2024
- H5101IIsarahr0 contributionsA tired hot springs resort with gross food and untrained “massage therapists”.If you’re looking for an affordable day pass to some hot springs, go for it. It’s prettier at night time if you’re going… I don’t recommend upgrading to get the food, or spa services at all. Embarrassed that I bought this for my family.Written December 19, 2023
- juanbX1183UM0 contributionsFavorite Hot Springs!!This place is amazing, private, beautiful grounds and very affordable, the pools and jacuzzi are nice and warming, very welcoming!! 🙏🏼Written December 1, 2023
- James D0 contributionsParadise for a day!We had a wonderful day in Paradise. The name says it all. Warm hot spring pools( Not crowded) great lunch. Our server Guermo was very attentive and the food was authentic Costa Rician. We also enjoyed a 60 min sheepish massage what a great day! If you are in LaFortuna skip the fancy expensive places and come for a great relaxing time here at Paradise.Written November 30, 2023
- TorontoFunSeekers0 contributionsBig disappointment. We booked hot springs and dinner here because of the reviews. 2 middle aged couples. Have to say very disappointed. It’s basically just a bunch of lukewarm swimming pools and very worn facilities. Dinner was a very lame buffet with tasteless food and horrible desert. Really got the feeling they just wanted to do the minimum they could get away with. Considering the number of similar operations in the area I’m sure there are much better options. We paid over $100 each. Big mistake. Would not recommend.Written November 28, 2023
- 449ChrisK0 contributionsRelaxing in Costa RicaVery peaceful, relaxing and soothing. There are 8 hot springs pools that very in temperature. There is access to a pool bar. Clean locker rooms to change in. Would recommend it to anyone.Written October 7, 2023
- DayTrip217159695390 contributionsJust a poolIt was part of the tour package, locker need some remodeling, no changing room and just a shower so open space and no bench . As you walk to the spring water pool areas ( it needs some maintenance , it looks nothing like the photos . Deep cleaning maintenance.Written August 20, 2023

The pools and the layout are very nice and relaxing. We spent the day soaking in various temperature pools. However, the meal we had was substandard to everythung we would hope to have in a meal . After anticapating a nice sit down meal we were sorley disappointed. I'd give one star to the meal maybe. The meal consisted of buffet style serving. Rice of course. The chicken parts, fish , and cooked vegatables were obviously from frozen bag type commercial products. They simply warmed and served from heated stero fired pans. We were sorley disappointed with this meal as it was about a twenty dollar each add on option after the spa fees.. BIG mistake. VERY little effort put into making this a decent meal Maxamizining their profit is obviously the only factor for this operation. Coffee was extra. I would not choose to eat at this resort again for any price as there are many many other options available. My opinion only.

We visited paradise were there at eleven o'clock unfortunately we could not get a cup of coffee. In addition to the baths, construction workers were demolishing paint grinding with flex and all kinds of other construction work we had a (perfect) massage and then left after consultation with the manager got half of our money back
Everything looks dated, the renovation is not a luxury

It was ok but expensive for what it was. Looked better at night, but a bit tacky by day. Nice to experience the thermal waters but an hour or so was plenty of time.
The meal was buffet style and again some of it was ‘ok’, some not great and the dessert wasn’t good.
You can experience the thermal waters for free in the river near the Tabacon and I expect there are other places that offer better value for money.

Price reasonable for an all day ticket, but we went on Volcanuc Summit hike (3 hrs) first and then came to the Hot Springs. It may not look as “flashy” as an entrance as you see with others, but it is very nice inside. Very clean inside and well organized. Several hot baths and small cold baths. Nice pool bar to sit at for a drink (evenings it gets crowded so go by 2:00 ish.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 days. We were so happy with our room, the breakfast buffet, the friendliness of the staff and how quaint and small it felt over other past large resorts we have stayed. We had a view of the volcano. The bed and room temp was very comfortable. We loved sitting in the hot springs at night. They are all different temps. It is not crowded as we are here at the end of their busy season, in May. Highly recommend!

We spent a good amount of the day at Paradise and we’re able to go in and out of the springs as we pleased with little to no other people there. We got lunch and dinner there and both were great. Highly recommend the Brownie desert. We also did a couples massage which was great.

My family and I have been in Costa Rica for the last week, our time here has been nothing short of amazing. We have had the best service everywhere we have been in Costa Rica. We decided to do a tour of the volcanoes and hot springs. We arrived at the Paradise Hot Springs after a perfect day of excursions and a tour of the volcano. The hot springs and the resort are beautiful; so beautiful that we were considering staying here on our trip to Costa Rica next year. However we had a very bad experience at the main swim up bar- The bartender was very unpleasant. He was very passive aggressive, rude, and disrespectful not only to us but to everyone else sitting at the bar. We kindly reported the issue to the front desk lady and asked that the complaint be passed to management. We attended the resort on 04/24/24 between 3:30-5:30 PM. My entire family works in the service industry and we were shocked at the way the bartender treated us. We will not be staying here for that reason alone. For such a beautiful resort it is a-shame that they would employ someone with that level of service. He ruined the vibe for the rest of our night for no reason whatsoever.

The Paradise hot springs was very clean and not crowded, we went around 11:30ish on a Tuesday and left around 3 o clock. The wet bar was awesome, you can enjoy the hot springs while being served tasty drinks. The bartender was very friendly as well. We could’ve spent all day there.

My son and I spent 3 nights here. Everything was above our expectations. We had a ground floor room that was beautiful. It was HC accessible so the bathroom was huge. Spent evenings in the water but busy with surrounding activities during the day. Went zip lining, hanging bridges etc. Rooms have daily housekeeping. Staff was great with making recommendations too. Free breakfast and a swim up bar. Got a burger in the water my last night. This was our last place to stay in Costa Rica on the vacation.

We took a day off our walking about tours to have a relaxing day at Paradise Springs - it was amazing! The pools were so warm and the small round pools all around were all different temperatures. It wasn't too busy and we had a sit out on a lounger with the view of the volcano. We had lunch included which was like a buffet lunch. we sat all day and didn't want to leave!

Can you bring your own food and drink in? Are there lockers?
Written August 18, 2019
There are lockers in the women’s and men’s bathrooms, which have showers. I believe that there are some lockers outside between the two bathroom entrances as well. I am not sure about the food.
