- Pioneer561675886020 contributionsAwesome adventureFantastic experience from start to finish. Kevin did a great job guiding us through the hanging bridges trail. He pointed out lots of wildlife and helped us get awesome pictures. The zip line staff was wonderful. Encouraging, positive and fun. Highly recommend!Written September 13, 2024
- Debra S0 contributionsWonderful Nature Tour- you will not be disappointed!Had a great day on the river either Victor, Fernando and Jose. They were able to show us some amazing wildlife— monkeys, sloths, iguanas, cayman and much more! It was a very peaceful day and learned a lot. The tour was great— I highly recommend this tour— make sure to ask for Victor!Written September 12, 2024
- Sherpa5743230 contributionsWonderful hike Nd swim! What a wonderful trip. José our guide and Marvin our driver were awesome. Jose knows his stuff and his stories about what his grandfather taught him were worth the trip alone. The lunch was fantastic and a wonderful way to finish the trip. Highly recommend this trip - and request José and Marvin - years of local knowledge and very safe and welcoming accommodations.Written September 10, 2024
- HomeSweetCO0 contributionsWonderful Full Day ExperienceWonderful full day experience! Our guide, Cindy, was AMAZING. Highly recommend requesting her if you can! She was so knowledgeable, attentive, engaging with our kids (7 & 11) and an overall joy to hang out with all day. We saw many creatures on the hanging bridges hike, most of which was well shaded. The waterfall hike is no joke… it’s 500 steps down to the base of the falls and… yes… 500 steps back up. No elevator. The water was VERY cold, but warmer a few meters down from the actual base of the falls. The traditional lunch was delicious, served in an intimate and beautiful setting on the company’s finquita (little farm). The volcano hike was more of a nature walk than a hike (no elevation change, or very little), but it was a welcome way to end the day. Highly recommend!!Written September 6, 2024
- HomeSweetCO0 contributionsRafting Spectacular! ATV’ing Not So Much.PROS: The rafting portion of this was absolutely fantastic! Our shuttle driver (Javier) was so fun and taught us a lot about the Costa Rican landscape, culture and economy as we drove the ~45 mins from ATV’ing to the raft put-in. James, our raft guide, was awesome! Friendly, a lot of fun, very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna. Our kids (7 & 11) had a blast on this trip! James’ colleague taking pics from a kayak was great as well… scoping out wildlife for us and engaging with the kids. This was the best part of our 7 day Costa Rican vacation. The included lunch was surprisingly outstanding. Delicious local food, very clean and cute restaurant facility next to the river, and clean and private shower/bathroom/changing facilities (at pull out, none at put in). CONS: The ATV tour was somewhat blah… no engagement from the “guides” and we drove mostly on roads accessible by normal cars. The views were gorgeous, but we could have achieved the same by just driving ourselves in the car. We liked the cultural stop (though the items for sale were wildly overpriced), and the ATVs were fun, but overall probably not worth the price of the tour.Written September 6, 2024

- Sandy G0 contributionsAmazing, PeacefulWe just finished the tour with Jario and Albany. They were amazing. Jario met us in the parking lot and immediately greeted us. They were both very professional. Jario was knowledgeable about the flora and animals. We saw monkeys, iguanas, a sloth and a variety of birds. The river was beautiful and peaceful! We went to a ranch and had the absolute best banana bread ever, we had to leave with extra.. hahaWritten August 24, 2024
- chrisdZ6009VZ0 contributionsHighlight of our tripWe agree with all the prior great reviews. We took the 9am class and were picked up promptly by Hugo, who spoke fluent English and stayed with us the whole time. We were the only people booked, so the farm invited four of their friends to cook with us, which made it feel very inviting. We made yucca and plantain chips with a dipping sauce, annatto chicken and pico de gallo, which we ate off banana leaves. We also made and cooked tortillas from scratch. We got a lot of information about the cooking techniques, how you could modify them, and how to adapt the recipe to what ingredients might be available. We very much enjoyed this class.Written August 21, 2024
- Q2938XRtaylorh0 contributionsThe best of the best!Pablo was the best guide we could have asked for! On our ride to the river he told us so much information and history of Costa Rica, he had the van pull over so we could watch howler monkeys cross the hanging bridge and even bought us rambutans. 10000/10 experience and we will for sure be back!Written August 21, 2024

Please take the guided tour and ask for Elias...he is WONDERFUL. If available, also attend the indigenous tribe lecture - well worth the time. (Know that the road into this delightful sanctuary is a bit on the rough side but don't turn around...you are NOT lost...you will soon see the signs up in the trees on the right !) Our group was fortunate to participate in the rescue of a mother sloth when she fell clutching her baby and couldn't get turned over...she and baby were fine and watching her climb back into her safe place became the most memorable moment of our entire two week adventure...if not my entire life!! Not a dry eye in the bunch!

My mother and I thoroughly enjoyed our Xmas morning walk with Mario at the Ecocenter. After a bit of an uphill hike the day before, we (and our legs) were quite happy to stroll along the flat, well-kept trails in this lovely reserve. Sure, you could do the walk by yourself—but then you would most definitely miss most of what we got to see, which included iguanas, caimans, owls, agouti, a two-toed sloth, boat-billed herons, leaf cutter ants, a woodpecker, and many many gorgeous, colorful song birds. Mario was a fount of knowledge and really took the time to make sure we had a great experience.
If you are serious about your nature, not in any rush, and want to learn more about the flora and fauna in this beautiful country, then Mom and I definitely recommend this tour!
