Fantastic experience throughout the entire week. There are two guides in particular that I want to highlight and recommend as they really went out of their way to make our honeymoon special: Eric & Edson.

Eric went with us to Laguna Lodge in Tortuguero and at every opportunity, he went out of his way to give us the best experience possible. He took such great care of us!

Edson was our guide for the Hanging Bridges Tour, and the Arenal Volcano hike tour. I don't know how he did it, but he spotted a Glass Frog, Eyelash Pit Viper, and so many other amazing animals and took the time to help us get great pictures of all of them. Thank you for a great experience!

All in all, from the staff at Ecoterra HQ (Jordy & Deiner among others) to the guides (Eric & Edson), our experience was fantastic. We can't wait to get back!

Daniela was our guide for both the Arenal Volcano hike and the Arenal Hanging Bridges tour. She was knowledgeable and engaging. She clearly enjoyed pointing out wildlife in the rainforest and had a sharp eye for small creatures. Both tours were somewhat vigorous hiking, although the purpose was really to see the landscape so the pace was appropriately not fast. Recommend both tours highly!

What an amazing experience! My sister and I weren’t sure what to expect except that we would be walking across suspension bridges, which was true, but it was so much more! Our guide, Francisco, was amazing. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area, and he was incredible at finding animals that we would have missed with the naked eye. We saw snakes, lizards, spiders, birds, bats, monkeys. And all the while, we were hiking through the amazing rain forest. It was just stunning. After the tour, which lasted about 2 hours or so, they had fresh, delicious pineapple and butter cookies for us. It was an incredible tour.

We took a trip to the hanging bridges and while walking the bridges is very interesting, the amount of people there detracted from the experience. You hike in the rainforest and its HOT & Muggy. This would not be an issue normally, but we had to wait up to 15 minutes at each bridge in order to cross due to the volume of people.

We managed to spot some interesting wildlife (blue jeans frogs, a Motmut and some Toucans) but mostly we walked, stopped, crossed bridges. Not what we expected.

The trip from the bridges to the waterfall is about 20-30 min by transport and the guide was excellent (Minor). Before we arrived we placed a lunch order at a local restaurant, hotel where some people changed into bathing suits.

We arrived at 12:20pm and were told that we would be meeting back at the bus at 1:00. It is 500 steps down the bottom and 100% its beautiful. Worth the trip down. We did not swim, however there were a number of people on our tour that did. You can swim for about 10-15 min, then you need to quickly dry off as it takes another 15 minutes + to walk back up the 500 steps.

We then headed to a lunch. The food was excellent but took way too long to arrive. There was also soooo much food. Salads or Ceviche then a huge plate of lunch. The options were decent but took a long time to serve everyone and then depart. The whole tour took from 8:00am to 3:30pm.

Depending on kids, family etc, you may wish to consider if you do this.

Our guide Mainor was absolutely the best! We did an all day tour that consisted of a hike through Arenal Volcano area, then swimming at La Fortuna Waterfull, lunch stop, Arenal Hanging Bridges, then Hot Springs. It was a long but perfect day. Mainor loves his job and was so excited to see all the animals that nature had for us at the Hanging Bridges Tour. He was so informative, funny and fun. He is also a superb photographer and showed us all some tricks on our phones! I highly recommend Ecoterra for your tour needs and definitely recommend the Arenal Hanging Bridges Hiking Tour. A must while in Costa Rica.

We went for the 9am tour and we saw a small amount of wildlife but to be honest I would recommend going for the 8am tour as I think we were a little late
Our guide (Anderson) was excellent both in his english but also how informative he was. We are not really into guided nature walks but both found this really interesting and enjoyed the whole walk
Very safe surroundings and good access for all
Thoroughly recommend a few hours here

Hanging bridges were a bit disappointing to us in that only the odd humming bird, bat and lizard was seen eventhough we had an excellent guide which is essential. Don't try to do this without a guide as you won't see a thing and try to be in a small party, preferably no more than 8 people. The most interesting part for us were the hanging bridges themselves - a long expanse of swaying chained bridges but interesting to look down on the canopy. One thing to note is that they don't allow sandals or any open topped shoes so be sure to wear sturdy shoes.

This was my first time visiting Costa Rica and booking through Ecoterra took all the guesswork out. Transportation was scheduled and easy and all the excursions we booked exceeded our expectations.

The favorite activities were the Arenal hanging bridges tour and hiking Rio Celeste & Tenorio Park. Our guide for both of these activities was Gonzalo who was very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about plants and animals. He did a great job making sure everyone was enjoying themselves and learning about Costa Rican flora and fauna. Jason was along for the Rio Celeste hike and he was also a great guide.

We stayed at Casa Luna which was also booked through Ecoterra and it was beautiful and clean. Again, our expectations we exceeded.

I would not hesitate to book through Ecoterra again and highly recommend them and their tours!

We toured with Daniel, who was amazing! He spotted a sloth in the trees outside our hotel before we got 10 feet down the road. Knew we were in for a treat then. He was an avid naturalist, and identified many birds just by their call before finding them. We saw bats, poisonous frogs, a viper and too many birds to mention. The bridges are a wonderful way to see the forest canopy. This is a must do!
