It was pouring with rain, and he made every effort to keep me and my bag dry while he got wet. A very friendly guy making every second of the trip to the airport memorable. - uscimc0 contributionsFirst Class HangZhouIf you want to go see Hangzhou you have to do a tour. Metro is not convenient and taxis charge flat 100-200 RMB because of severe traffic. To see other sites besides West Lake you need to go with private tour. We had private van with AC. Carline was great and fluent in English. She gave amazing detailed historical background on all our sites and knew the best photo spots. Lunch was amazing. Probably the best meal I have had all week in the Shanghai area. All the place we have been were amazing with sufficient and very interesting guide done by a tourgude eho was called Snów. I was able to see a sample of China from quite old water Village to the most moder Shanghai Bund. Transportation was very smooth with a high quality car. We opted for the tour with the lunch option. Food was good traditional dishes. Very nice. The water town is only 1 hour drive from the city. The driver also very good and polite. Very safe drive. Nice town. Glad I bought some of the Nantong calico cloth! The town has many nice shops and restaurants. I would recommend visiting.
