- daniellemL4778EZ0 contributionsPerfect day trip from Shanghai with a great guideWe had a great time visiting and learning about the beautiful city of Suzhou. Sunny and Roy arranged all the transportation and tickets which made everything seamless and enjoyable. Roy was a fantastic and friendly guide—he’s from Shanghai and has family ties to Suzhou, so he has lots of knowledge and personal stories to share. Roy even went back to the train station the day before our tour when our tickets were misprinted. We had lots of questions and he was patient and informative with his answers. We were able to try delicious local cuisine for lunch and overall had a wonderful experience. Definitely recommend booking a tour with Sunny and her team during your next trip to Shanghai!Written October 15, 2024
- isabell6960 contributionsRelaxing and well paced tour!Roy was a great tour guide! He was very patient and accommodating to myself and my parents. He was very informative in a comprehensive way, but also let us look around ourselves. Since my parents are older, we really appreciated having the private car to help us get around.Written October 14, 2024
- BenjaminChiaWL0 contributionsKnowledgeable local born-and-bred Shanghainess guide and driver for dinner + River CruiseWe had a great time with Kalvin, a warm, friendly and knowledgeable 100% local born and bred Shanghainese guide equally fluent in both English and Mandarin. Kalvin was very hospitable and took great care of us (family of 3 - including child and pregnant wife), and provided expert commentary and insights on Shanghai, including its history, the culture, significant landmarks and all of its milestones and heritage. The Shanghainese food dinner was good (part of package) and the Huangpu river cruise had a VIP option for 50 Yuan per person which was well worth it. I would rate 10 stars out of 5 stars if I could - highly highly recommended.Written October 14, 2024
- 852andreay0 contributionsGreat!!Came to Shanghai with a client and had one day to see the entire city before starting our business trip Roy, our guide, was fantastic and took us to all the best places and then took us to a locals place where we had a fantastic lunch. If you only have a short time to spend in Shanghai, I highly recommend this tour. We saw all the highlights, drank tea, visited the silk shop, a Buddhist Temple, and much more! And we had a driver so it made the whole day surprisingly easy.Written October 13, 2024
- amorning10 contributionsWorth every penny!Colleagues in Shanghai recommended this tour to us, and it was worth every penny! Feifei was an ideal tour guide, very knowledgeable and considerate, so it was truly a pleasure to spend the day with her. We visited the Jade Temple, beautiful gardens, the Bund and the French concession. Feifei also ordered an excellent lunch for us and took us to a lovely teahouse. She even helped us do a little shopping! It was a wonderful first day in a city I had never visited before, and where I didn't speak the language. Also, having an air-conditioned car and driver was a Godsend given the hot temperature outdoors. For anyone who is new to Shanghai, I highly recommend this tour!Written October 12, 2024

Navigating the best local foods is almost impossible without an experience guide. Annie led us to several local specials and they are not on the most busiest tourist road. The cruise tour over HuangPu river was a must-see. It was raining in the beginning and we has to stay inside to watch out of the blurring window, but after the rain stopped, we went to the top open floor and the views were fantastic!

We had a nice relaxed time with this tour. Our guide Shirley was patient and knowledgeable about Shanghai. We felt comfortable and safe with her. The tour itinerary was ideal as we saw Shanghai’s famous lighted skyline and experienced iconic flavors all in one evening. Our guide Shirley was terrific and got us on a cruise just before the building lights went on. She explained a little history of the area called The Bund. We worked up an appetite and had delicious tastings of the typical Shanghai cuisine. You can do the tour with food tour then cruise or like we did it, cruise then food. The manager, Sunny, was very organized and set us up for a successful evening. Don’t hesitate to sign up for this tour. Shirley speaks fluent English and and very accommodating. She knows where all the good bathrooms are if you know what I mean.

My wife and I had a great time with Lily. She was very informative and shared a lot of Shanghai history and cultural influence. The food choices were delicious, plentiful, and gave a nice flavourful introduction into Shanghai cuisine. Then to end the night with a cruise on the river viewing the the beautiful architecture and Shanghai lights was absolutely breathtaking. Definitely recommend this tour and will absolutely do it again.

Annie was a great tour guide in Shanghai! She took us on a street food tour and let us sample foods that we would not have otherwise tried. The river cruise is a must see and Annie did a great job explaining the history of both sides of the river. I’d highly recommend touring with Sunny Tours and Annie!

Annie met me at a safe hotel lobby and we walked and ate our way through Shanghai at our own pace. She shared her experiences growing-up in Shanghai and took me to kabob, soup, and dumpling spots… and an old town tour at night. The city came to life with the lights, boat cruise, and good conversation.

Great tour with Annie. It was a pleasure to see Shanghai at night, walk through the old town and taste some of the best street food options. Our favorite was Shanghai dim sum soup. But everything else was also very tasty, although we tried to avoid the spicy dishes. Annie spoke perfectly english and so we had a cheerful conversation all the time. At last there is the boat tour to take some good photos from the river at night.

Our experience began with our meeting with Linda, our guide just for us! What a chance to stroll through the small streets of Shanghai and introduce us to Chinese cuisine. Linda was perfect in her knowledge of the city, and its traditions! The evening ended with a cruise to admire the city’s light show! We had a great time!

We thoroughly enjoyed our Shanghai Walking Food & Cruise Tour. Our guide, Sunny, was friendly, informative and very organised. Each dish we ate was delicious - even our two (often fussy) young children enjoyed it all! It was fantastic to walk through the streets of Shanghai and the night cruise was also wonderful, providing a perspective of Shanghai we had not seen before. Highly recommend this tour. Thanks Sunny!

Due to Covid pandemic, my friends said that China no longer issues Visas for tourists. I was just inquiring to see if Shanghai is opened for foreigners. To my surprise, I found spots available for Friday 9/30/22 Private Shanghai Evening Street Food Walking and Cruise Tour. I' m confused. Is China opened to tourists as of now, September 2022? Thank you.

Is the food walk at a leisurely pace with stops and how long is the food walk itself within the total time of the tour
Written March 17, 2019
Yes, the pace was leisurely. The locations are relatively close together. We had dishes from three restaurants over a little less than 2 hours. I would expect that the guide will adjust for your wishes!
Enjoy!
