      A must !’n
This was the best experience. I booked a private tour for the end of a long work week before our flights. We saw all the off the beaten path sites. Our guides were amazing and took great care to explain all that we were seeing and kept everyone in the group engaged.

      Modern Art Walking Tour:Private Guide
A very pleasant two hours with a friendly, polite guide who spoke excellent English. The Museum is focused on Chinese art and the guide helped me to understand it better.

      Fantastic Tour!!!
This was a fantastic tour!!! Mary was our guide and was phenomenal. She is very knowledgeable, personable, and funny. My husband cracks jokes constantly and by mid morning,Mary was cracking them right back at him. We had a lot of fun with her. The private tour was the way to go. You could completely customize it to your liking at the beginning of the day and even change and request things as you went along. We were pretty zonked by the end of the tour as it was our last tour of our 3 week trip, so, Mary arranged a couple of semi relaxing activities for us and then even arranged for us to be dropped off in a little area where we could eat, shop, and bar hop instead of dropping us back at our hotel. She made sure we were completely comfortable with the location and how to get back to our hotel before leaving us, but gave us her number if we had any issues. This was a great tour experience and I highly recommend Mary as a guide!!!

      Interesting and Fun
I enjoyed this walking tour with Mary. She had excellent English and shared a lot of interesting information about the area we covered. It was a good way to see and learn about a part of Old Shanghai.

Zhouzhuang and Jinxi Water Town Tour from Shanghai
Had a 19 hour layover in Shanghai and decided to book this tour. Hadn’t been advised it was a public holiday and the roads would be busy... took much longer to get there than anticipated and it was packed with locals. But our guide was helpful and it was a good group, 2 Germans and a Brazilian girl; all English speaking which was good. We did get a lot of attention from the Chinese, lots were taking pictures and videos of us 😬 We did get a feel for China and a lovely local lunch that was delicious.. we couldn’t have found a place like it without a guide.. also the guides can get to the front of lines for tickets which did save a huge amount of time. The tour was 10 hours with all the travelling.

A must walk back into the dark history of the Jewish people
The bravery of the Chinese people, in spite of their own occupation by the Japanese, managed to save thousands of Jews from the Nazi holocaust.

      Something different
Take this tour if you wanna see something different than the glamorous and modern Shanghai. We met our guide at a fixed location (you need to travel to the location on your own), the whole idea is that this is a walking tour. You walk the old Shanghai and get to see how the old houses (which only the rich could afford) and how they moved from being single family homes to multiple families sharing the single house. While walking the pathways, you get all the historical info from the guide, as she’s from that part of Shanghai. I would say this tour is more of an adult tour (even though we had our kids with us and the didn’t mind the walk). I would recommend this tour if you wanna see something different in Shanghai.

      Fantastic!
I had no idea what to expect when I signed up for this private class. My mother had expressed interest in taking a Tai Chi class for beginners, and neither of us really knew anything about the practice. This class was amazing, and it was taught in a beautiful park. The teacher was exceptional and very kind and the class was so much fun. The teacher's translator was fantastic, and the class included not just the basics of Tai Chi movement but also interesting facts and the history of the practice. I highly recommend this, it is great fun, a true cultural experience, and you will learn a lot.

Learn the Basics of Tai Chi and Become Kungfu Panda!
Have you ever been taught something that completely changes your preconceived notion of how the world works? Well, that’s how I felt after taking a two hour introductory course from a local tai chi master in Shanghai earlier today! First the principles of tai chi are based upon Taoism (Ying-Yang). It is an ancient martial art that mimics the movements of animals—particularly the tiger. Like most people I thought that tai chi mostly consists of arm and leg movements. The master demonstrated, though, that this is completely wrong. The most important part of tai chi is based upon controlling one’s center of gravity and learning how to move properly your hips and spine. Throughout the two hour lesson I learned the basics of moving muscles and bones that I never knew I could control. We even spent 30 minutes learning how to climb and go down stairs without using your knees—if that makes any sense! One of our business partners in China heard that I had signed up for this class and nicknamed me Kungfu Panda as a joke. While it was meant as a joke, it turns out, however, that there is a lot of hidden symbolism in this cartoon. The animals are actually practicing tai chi throughout the movie, and the director spent 4 years in a Taoist temple studying tai chi. Thus this nickname turned out to be quite appropriate! While I have not yet mastered anything, the great thing about tai chi is that it is possible to practice anywhere! The master, Mike Yuen, expects me to send him short video clips via WeChat to check my progress! If you are ever in Shanghai and have some free time, I would strongly recommend trying tai chi, and Shanghai Pathways made it easy to sign up.

Great course to pick up the basics of Wok Cooking
Jamie was our chef, and he made cooking our meals an absolute joy. We are average cooks, but wok cooking has always been an interest as the food is freshly cooked and easy, IF you know what to use. Jamie made it easy for us. He cooked the dishes first, we tasted them, and could then judge whether we would like more spice or less. Then we cooked the dishes following his directions. The kitchen is spacious, scrupulously clean and well equipped. We were made to feel welcome, and had such fun making and tasting our wok dishes. We were supplied with take away containers, as we had cooked so much food that we couldn't eat it all. We came home this week and went straight to the Chinese Grocery in Devonport and bought all the sauces and noodles for our three dishes. Its great to be able to have confidence enough to just jump in and cook!

      Night Ferry Lightings Attractive
I have experience so much ferries but this is one of the best ferries according to the views and lighting in the both sides of the river most relaxing and calm experience. The night walk was also amazing through nanjing road to the river amazing and relaxing experience with the busiest street and then to the calm and relaxing river. But the ferry should include songs or music in it and some halal snacks to offer as well.

Great guided tour of old Shanghai lanes
My colleague and I signed up for a guided tour of the southern city. Mason was a fabulous guide and was very knowledgeable. Even though I had previously lived in Shanghai I learned a great deal. Would recommend!

      So much fun!
This class was really fun to do and we really learned how to make dumplings and spring rolls that we can re-create at home. The staff is warm and friendly and we laughed alot. One of the highlights of our trip.

Must see if you want to learn more about local life in Shanghai
Great option to get a better understanding of local life in Shanghai. First we walked around the alleyways, markets, shops, shared houses/kitchens. Afterwards we saw one of the houses from the inside. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and explained daily life, food, culture, etc.

      Wonderful Day with Rita!
My partner and I booked two tours with Shanghai Pathways (will be with Janny tomorrow and very much looking forward to it!) starting with a city intro. Our guide Rita was terrific. She showed us places we would not have thought to ask to see, provided extensive background on everything we saw, and even became a delightful lunch companion who shared her perspective on life in Shanghai. We know that Janny has many guides working for her, and often when you book a tour like this, you are taking a chance on getting someone who is less than hoped for. Rita far exceeded our hopes and made our first day in Shanghai truly memorable! Thank you, Rita. And thank you Janny for assigning her to be our guide!
