Soham is such a wonderful guide! He was very helpful, flexible, and a real professional throughout the entire process (booking, the tour itself, communication, etc). He took us to places we would have never seen as a tourist on our own, and explained everything in a very passionate way including interesting trivia about the city, its culture, its history, and the country as a whole. He took great care of us, considering this was our first trip outside Europe, and was extremely helpful. He listened to all our inquires, and made us at ease from the very beginning.
In other words, we recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kolkata!

From start to finish Soham was just excellent. He was kind and careful for us around traffic and obstacles and showed much concern and kindness. The tour was really wonderful. We saw so many different aspects of the Bara Bazaar market area, and tried different food and drinks along the way. From the publishing/book sellers all around the university area to the markets, vegetables, clothing, etc etc we saw the colours, sites and sounds of Kolkata, definitely the City of Joy. The area is very busy and there is a real buzz of activity. We noticed how friendly and warm the local people were. They smiled and nodded and always responded to a hello from us. Soham told us that people in the area are known for their joy of life and of living a good life not necessarily a life just to make money. That was the feeling. Warmth and happiness. Soham really showed this too in all his help and guidance on the tour. Much appreciate. Highly recommended.

I am so glad I did this tour - definitely a highlight of my time in Kolkata. Soham is so passionate and knowledgable about this city and you can't help but fall in love with Kolkata afer spending a few hours with Soham.
I would never have experienced some of the things I did if I hadn't taken this tour. If you prefer to really experience a place and it's people then this is definitely for you. Soham couldn't have been a better guide, and as a solo female I felt completely safe and at ease throughout the whole tour.
We meandered through the hustle and bustle of the city, with stops for amazing food and drinks, and Soham even managed to find a space of calm and peace in the middle of all of this at a Buddhist temple - amazing.
And at the end of the tour we were able to watch the movements of the city from far above, with views far and wide.
A truly fascinating tour and one I would highly recommend to anyone visiting this city.

It was my second tour with Soham (first one I did was Magic Hour which was amazing as well). The tour is nicely structured, even we covered busy areas, I didnt feel tired as we had some nice breaks. Soham loves the city and very passionate to share the taste of Kolkata with us. I highly recommend to book the tour!

Soham is a wonderful guide, he loves Calcutta and showing the city to visitors. We visited places I would never find on my own and at some fantastic food. The tour was accompanied by a very intelligent commentary on the history, society and economy of Calcutta. Soham is very sensitive to the comforts of his clients and constantly checks that everyone is happy and comfortable. We tasted many different street foods with confidence and Soham has a great formula where he pays for all of your food and drink along the way (comes out of your tour fee) to save on these hassles. He is a very generous and authentic person and I highly recommend you take his tour!

We had an amazing experience with Soham's Calcutta Contrast Tour. Soham was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the city. We were the only two guests on this particular tour, so we were able to take the tour at our pace, soaking in our favorite places, and moving more quickly through other spots. My fiancee's mother grew up in Calcutta, and growing up she visited often. Soham took us to many spots even my fiancee's mother had never seen. When we told her what our itinerary had been, she was extremely impressed.
Our Calcutta Contrast tour ended with us sharing beers with Soham amidst a beautiful view of Calcutta. We had a lovely chat, sharing stories about Calcutta, our families, favorite movies etc. At the end of the day, we really felt we had connected with a new friend. Soham even sent us a list of movies that connected to the places and history we saw on the tour!
Soham's thoughtfulness was really impressive throughout the process. We were originally planning to do the Magic Hour tour, but family circumstances prevented it. When we explained the situation to Soham the night before the tour, he was very gracious and understanding, and we booked the Calcutta Contrast tour instead.
The tour ended on a busy street where it is difficult to get an uber, so Soham went out of his way to take us to a different spot and make sure we were safely in an uber on our way home.
You can’t go wrong with Soham or with Calcutta Capsule-- seeing the city this way is a hugely worthwhile experience.

Calcutta Contrast Tour took us through the contrasts in the Bengali side and Marwadi side of businesses....we visited a very iconic coffee house ... learnt the backstories and anecdotes about many places and shops ... learnt about the fruit market , saw so many book shops ....relished many savouries....in a nutshell had full fun. Mr Soham is a thorough gentleman, has high energy levels , knows how to keep everyone engaged , took beautiful pics of us ....took care of us at each and every step ...he ensured safety and was kind enough to see that we reached our hotel safely after the tour .... Mr Soham comes from a very good educated and intellectual background and it reflects in his knowledge and behaviour. At the end of the tour , he was no longer a tour pilot , but more like a family member showing us around . Kolkata is so beautiful and people are so honest and helpful . I am taking Kolkata with me , and a piece of me will always remain behind in Kolkata.

I learned so much about Calcutta through listening to stories, visiting tea shops, eating delicious street food, and walking through many neighbors hoods. The stories and about different groups of people and how they manage to make a great city together. The stories are filled with great respect for all and are sometimes funny, sometimes heroic and always put Calcutta in your heart. I loved trying different modes of transition and sohams care to small details. He is attentive and kind along the way. His excitement is infectious. I only had to think about a cup of tea and there we were at a delicious tea stand. I’m so happy I went on this tour.
