About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 863debangshuc0 contributionsCouple of days in MurshidabadWe drove to Murshidabad from Kolkata via Mayapur ( a day well spent) with not much expectations ( Hazarduari is the only publicised landmark). We skipped Plassey landmark while going but regretted later because it became dark and raining next day when we were returning to Kolkata. For balance half day and full next day, our perception changed totally, and this happened due to the tourist guide (Riyasat Hossain, 97326367755). The city of Tombs and Mansions became alive with images of people associated with them with untold stories. Some of it was known history and some of them were unknown ( not to be found in Google). In half a day we could cover Jahan Kosha Cannon, Katra Masjid, Hazarduari Palace and Museum, Nashipur Rajbari, House of Jagat Seth. We had booked accommodation in Hotel Jalchhabi which is on the banks of river Bhagirathi. The hotel owns a boat and offer evening boating service for the hotel guests ( chargable). We were too tired to avail this and went for multi cuisine dinner instead, which was very good. Early up next day, we enjoyed the morning tea on the lawn by the side of river Bhagirati. Tanked up full with Breakfast, we covered Khoshbagh Garden, Roshnibagh Mousoleum, Shri Kiriteshwari Shaktipeeth Temple, Kathgola Bagan, Motijheel Park, Cossimbazar Palace of the Roys etc etc etc, before heading back for Kolkata by 5.00 PM. Offcourse, we spend couple of hours in between at Jiagang to buy local authentic Silk Saris, which Murshidabad is famous for. Lastly, a stop at Mother's Hut mid way for dinner was also a pleasant experience. We came back quite fulfilled..Written November 1, 2024
- hc220180 contributionsWonderful history in the City of JoyWow! There was a cyclone in Kolkata this day. Our Guide, Bratati conducted the walk anyhow. We only had this day in the city and I was keen to learn about the British history of the city. Despite the torrential rain Bratati was superb. She explained things so well and told many great stories about the history and the buildings. In the end the rain flooded the streets! So we had to abandon the tour for safety. But Bratati did so well to fit in lots of interesting information and she was so calm and resilient. Highly recommend this company and hope to return on a sunny day! Thank you Bratati 🙏😍Written October 24, 2024

Our guide Anirban was wonderful and helped us understand the impact of the various European powers on Bengal. There were fascinating monuments designed in European style and we also had a lovely local Bengali lunch. Highly recommened.Written October 20, 2024

- 930koenv0 contributionsExperts in touring European influencesAnirban picked us up in the morning at our hotel. We then went on quite a drive towards Kolkata's colonial past. We saw influences from the British, Dutch, Portuguese and Danish. All with their own stories and style. Anirban was very knowledgeable and friendly. We had a very good time with him. And the Bengali Lunch by his recommendation was delicious (and vegan friendly possible).Written September 30, 2024

- alsk30 contributionsWorth the tripWe had an excellent day with Anirban. The temples were impressive and worth the trip. Lunch was good, and other stops for chai and sari weaving added variety. Anirban added context. Definitely a nice way to spend a day out of the city.Written February 18, 2024
- 223MarkG0 contributions5 Senses delivers another great tourThis was another great tour from 5 Senses. Anibal organised a fantastic day for us visiting former European colonies in towns and cities outside Kolkata. He picked us up from our hotel in Kolkata on time and in the car he was brimming with information about what we were going to see during the day. Anibal’s tour provided a fantastic insight into the history of the Portuguese, Danish and French in the area. He knew the best places to show us and also organised a delicious Bengali lunch. It was a real joy to spend the day in the company of Anibal. Thanks for another great trip, 5 Senses.Written January 24, 2024

Bratati my tour guide was the best I could ask for she always had a smile on her face, knowledgeable and patient. She also knew various people who allowed us to enter various sites. The transport (private car) was comfortable and had air condition. The highlight of my tour was visiting the House of Mother Theresa. It is a peaceful and spiritual place right in the heart of Kolkata. Thanks Bratati for showing me your town the only thing I would change is perhaps not visit the artisans & pottery otherwise the tour was good.

Today I was fortunate to get my host Anirban again for my tour of Mother Theresa's house and missionaries of Charity along with other sights. The St Andrew's Church, St Paul's Cathedral, and my favorite the South Park cemetery. Just a delightful day with a delicious thali lunch and thoughtful as well as amusing commentary by Anirban. Traveling alone at 60 the tour guides have been so essential to making this a magical trip to Kolkata!!

I had booked the Mother Teresa and Churches tour from Kolkata on TripAdvisor. It was an amazing experience. The tranquility at Mother's house is quite moving. Besides, St Paul's cathedral and St Andrew's Church were spectacular. This is a great way to understand Kolkata's rich heritage and past.
