Highlight of our trip to Kolkata- fantastic guide and food tour of the newmarket area. I would highly recommend as a great way to get amongst the local culture and cuisine. My wife and teenage daughter all enjoyed immensely.

Just finished a 4 day visit to Calcutta arranged thru Calcutta Caravan and specifically with Mark Deep.Our visit included 2 walking days and 2 heritage days with transport.All I can say is it was one of the most gratifying and enriching experiences we have ever had on our travels. It was a comforting experience from the very first call up until the very end. Mark is an excellent point person/guide/contact/friend all rolled into one. Going into it head-on, trying to eek out what the client wants, and then going ahead, and delivering on that. That's what I guess, he excels at. I must say, my Kolkatta visit would have been incomplete without the tour Organized by Calcutta Caravan. From the time I contacted Mark for the first time to get details about the tour, till we ended the tour, the entire interaction was handled with absolute professionalism and commitment. Mark went out of the way to ensure my requests are fulfilled , that too with a great enthusiasm. Be it my request for having authentic Rasagulla or Tram Ride.. Since I was travelling with my parents and Kids, I did not want it to be a hurried tour. That was so perfectly well handled. We took a Heritage Walking Tour with Calcutta Caravan. This was a fascinating walk taken by a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide who gave us a lot of interesting information about Calcutta (Kolkata Now). I have been to Calcutta many times earlier too, however never got an opportunity to know the city. Pinning on this walking tour was definitely a wise decision.  It was fascinating to watch the magnificent buildings built during the British era and know the history behind them. We also had lunch in The Lalit Great Eastern Hotel, which is apparently the first 5-star hotel in Asia. The ferry ride across the Ganges was so soothing at the end of the tour. The placid breeze was everything we needed to refresh at the end of a super active day. The entire tour was very well planned and timed.

I have lived and traveled in India for over 5 months now and my experience with Calcutta Caravan was definitely one of the most amazing experience I have had. Initially, I was hesitant about the walking tour but I am glad I let my friend talk me into it. As Mark, our tour guide says "The best way to feel the texture of a city is to walk the streets of that place". I can't agree more with him. We walked through the lanes of residential alleys to experience the lives of the locals and it was so overwhelming to see them up close. On the 23rd of December a Kids Carnival was organised at The Lalit Great Eastern Kolkata and was an awesome event to attend the children of the family enjoyed to the fullest. We had paid a nominal fee and received 5 star services ,food, freebees and also a goodie to take along. Will surely attend all the events organised for children.

I had made a good decision to choose calcutta caravan as a guide during my stay in calcutta. It was a fun trip with a lot of activity fun things to see... I would recommend it to my other friends as well... 👍👍

Snaking across the city, highlighting different areas and stopping for well-chosen snacks and drinks, with careful attention to dietary needs and different tastes it was a perfect mix of just everything that was essential.The stops reflected the diversity of the city and Deep is lovely and enthusiastic.He shared beautiful snippets of Kolkata's rich history and information about the goodies which are just right for the event. I took two walks with them, The White Town Walk & The Black Town Walk. What an experience to know the city with it's diversities and confluence of culture. It was a great decision to take walking tours. It's the best way to know the city . There is so much to see and know while you take a walk. Our guide mark was very informative and friendly and he had a great sense of humor which made our walk enjoyable and happening. I would surely recommend Calcutta caravan to everyone.
