          Worth the trip
We had an excellent day with Anirban. The temples were impressive and worth the trip. Lunch was good, and other stops for chai and sari weaving added variety. Anirban added context. Definitely a nice way to spend a day out of the city.

5 Senses delivers another great tour
This was another great tour from 5 Senses. Anibal organised a fantastic day for us visiting former European colonies in towns and cities outside Kolkata. He picked us up from our hotel in Kolkata on time and in the car he was brimming with information about what we were going to see during the day. Anibal’s tour provided a fantastic insight into the history of the Portuguese, Danish and French in the area. He knew the best places to show us and also organised a delicious Bengali lunch. It was a real joy to spend the day in the company of Anibal. Thanks for another great trip, 5 Senses.

          For history buffs
More for people interested in local history. Not far from Kolkata but a number of the targets of the tour were closed. Anirban was a great guide and we had a good driver. 5Senses is very professional.

          A long but good day
Long drive. Great driver and Anirpur was a great guide. Might not be worth 4 hours drive each way for some but interesting people scenery along the way. Roads not great much of the way. 5Senses was very professional, efficient, responsive.

Take a day off and get to know Kolkata
A full day might be long however the city is big and places of interest are plenty. Small walks in between refreshing and boat tour lovely but short. I recommend 45 min. Delicious lunch. Professional and friendly guide.

          5Senses does it AGAIN!
I had a long layover in Kolkata and 5Senses worked with me to arrange a tour that would fit my schedule. My Cultural Ambassador Anirban (“tour guide”) met me at the airport, we hopped in the car and it. It takes about an hour to get into the city so this definitely beat taxi or Uber. Anirban took me to several locations of cultural significance and I truly got a feel for Kolkata, the cultural capital of India. Anirban was clearly knowledgeable and personable. I would definitely do this if you want a guided way through a very complex city.

          Religion, history and context
Our guide Anirban was great. We travelled around the city seeing several sites. The various sites were all very interesting and Anirban added additional context and connections so we came away with a greater understanding of how the religions of the area relate to the history and development in the region. Recommend! Even in monsoon!!

History Tour of Kolkata and Murshidabad
India is awash in history, much of which changed the world. However, there is so much history in India, it's often difficult to find a knowledgeable guide with whom to learn about and explore it. Enter Five Senses Tours. My goal in coming to Kolkata was to learn about the origins and the eventual engine of the British Raj, and to see first hand what colonialism meant from a ground-up perspective. Five Senses did not disappoint! Bratati, my guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the Raj and of Kolkata, and took me on a walking tour of the heart of Kolkata (which, if you haven't been, is stunningly like Georgian-Victorian era London, only with warmer, more humid weather). It was fascinating and enlightening. (And the chai was delicious.) But the best was yet to come. Bratati took us on a custom designed tour of the Plassey battlefield and Murshidabad, and the story of Robert Clive, Mir Jafar, the Jagath Seths, and the East India Company unfolded for me. It was, in a word, fascinating. I'm very happy that I went to Kolkata and Murshidabad, and I'm even happier that I went with Five Senses Tours!

          Mesmerizing Kolkata
We booked the the full day tour of Kolkata and Sauvik was our guide. It was an amazing experience as we learnt about the colonial heritage and influence of East India company. The Bengali lunch was amazing. The tour ended over a nice boat ride on the Ganges River. A fitting end to a fabulous day.

Nice first experience of Indian temples in Kolkata
Great overview of different temples located at different areas of Kolkata allowing the visitor to see different neighbourhoods and obtain some commentary on them. Equally interesting are the choices of the temples which differ in religion, style and atmosphere. Guide was friendly and spoke clearly.

          A great experience
This trip more than fulfilled what I wanted to experience with a trip to Murshidabad. My guide was full of knowledge of history, local culture, and customs. He was very accommodating and was willing to show me other places I requested within the given timeframe. I had a very enjoyable trip with a pleasant guide and driver. I could fault anything.

          Rich cultural experience at Kolkata
I had booked the Mother Teresa and Churches tour from Kolkata on TripAdvisor. It was an amazing experience. The tranquility at Mother's house is quite moving. Besides, St Paul's cathedral and St Andrew's Church were spectacular. This is a great way to understand Kolkata's rich heritage and past.

This is one of the best ways to spend a day in Kolkata- celebrating Bengals grèatest legends.
Our tour started with Jora Sanko and it was as if the whole household came alive for us. Tagore - The poet...his works, his family, his travels and his final journey....all are beautifully preserved in this house and our guide Abhishek made them come to life with his explanations. This was followed by a visit to Marble palace, the residence of the wealthiest zamindar family of Calcutta. The collection of sculptures, paintings and other artifacts in the halls of this house will leave you spell bound. You will also get a peak at the Zamindari system that was prevalent. Netaji bhavan was another very interesting place. Apart from the beautiful house, you get to see his actual clothes, the boots he wore, the furniture which is kept intact and the actual route by which he escaped. This place is soaked in history and will give you goosebumps as you read the various letters Netaji wrote and other artefacts that explain his life's story.

The highlight of the tour was the way Five Senses conducted it. The guide was very knowledgeable and always ready with anecdotes and stories about the legends and places. We could just relax soak in the history. The vehicle, driver and lunch arranged were excellent. We tried local cuisine and Abhishek knew just the place to take us. Right from our hotel pick up till airport drop they really took care of us like family.

Overall, I highly recommend this tour.
