A wonderful tour with a great Guide
We had a great few hours on our tour with Farooq. We did not have a huge amount of time and so Farooq simply listened to our requirements and adapted the tour to ensure we saw as much as possible in the time that we had. There was a lot to see in Jaipur and unfortunately we were not able to see everything but what we did see was both beautiful and fascinating. Farooq is extremely knowledgeable and gave us a fascinating insight into all the sites we visited. He also has a great sense of humour so it is not just a constant stream of facts and figures, Farooq also makes the day a great deal of fun. I would highly recommend anyone to use his services for his amazing knowledge but also for his fun and friendly personality.

Farooq is the BEST tour guide in Jaipur
BEST tour guide in Jaipur We met Farooq and on very short notice he agreed to take us on a tour the next day. Farooq is a fount of knowledge and such a positive person. He made the tour not only very interesting but also wonderfully fun! He listened to our wants and adjusted timings and attractions so that we could see and do everything we asked for (plus a spot of lunch and a shopping sojourn thrown in for extra measure) we could not have asked for better tour guide or nicer person. To top it all off, he is an outstanding photographer and know all the best locations for photo ops, so we have an array of wonderful photos to remember our day in Jaipur by. Definitely the best in the business!! FABULOUS person all round.

    Trip to Jaipur
We spent two days with Farooq from India City Walk Tours. On the first day we toured the historical sites of Jaipur. Farooq is very knowledgeable, well known and very accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and learned a lot! On the second day we went on a walking food tour. That was fantastic. Tasting local Rajashani foods in safe and welcoming establishments plus getting a second tour of the business district at the same time. I look forward to going back and exploring more areas with Farooq. Highly recommended.

Full day sightseeing fun with Farooq
We came to Jaipur with a list of things to see, but no knowledge about them. Marriott, where we stayed, provided us with a wonderful driver, Mr. Ashwani, and a funny, sweet, and very knowledgeable tour guide, Mr. Farooq Khan. Farooq created an itinerary for us and spent two full days taking us around to museums, palaces, manufacturing companies, restaurants, and shopping. His fun personality made days fly by, and I hope we get to meet again on a tour of, perhaps, another city.

    Exceptional Tour of Jaipur
We booked a day tour with Farooq through Marriott Hotel in Jaipur, and the experience was exceptional! Farooq was very knowledgeable, insightful and experienced in all topics regarding Jaipur and Rajasthan. To top it off, Farooq has a great sense of humor and that made our tour even more enjoyable. We visited City Palace with tour of Royal Family private quarters, Amer Palace, Jaipur Observatory and the Jaipur Market. With Farooq’s expert commentary and explanation, we gained a great appreciation of Rajasthani culture and heritage. I would wholeheartedly recommend Farooq as a tour guide to anyone visiting Jaipur!

    A seven star tour guide
I returned to Jaipur after 4 years this time with family but once again with Farooq taking us around. We had an excellent trip and a good part of the credit goes to Farooq. I can say that apart from a good hotel a good tour guide can make your trip to a historic city even better . Farooq makes it a seven star experience with his charming and witty anecdotes. He is obviously well researched and loves sharing his wealth of knowledge with visitors . Hugely appreciated and even highly recommended. .

    First class private guide
I had the priviledge to have Farooq as my private guide for a whole day in Jaipur in December 2019 during my solo trip visiting India for a month. I travelled all around the world and had many private guides in my life : but the knowledge and the kindness of this first class gentleman were beyond my expectations ! Would definately recommend him anytime to enhance your experience and get the most of the « Pink City »...

Aimlessly walking around Jaipur, guide book in hand until we met FAROOG
After two days of wandering around Jaipur on our own, meandering about and wondering how to dodge the oncoming traffic, we were fortunate to come across Faroog who was introduced to us by an American traveller. The first thing Faroog told us was how to cross the road safely, 'slowly like a cow' so that oncoming traffic can gauge whether to pass in front or behind you... It worked and we are now confident travellers in India! We warmed to Faroog immediately, he is smart, courteous and extremely well mannered and knowledgeable. His enthusiasm and knowledge for Jaipur is infectious and we learnt much more than just the history of the city but about the people living and working there today. The day started early with a walk through the pink city to the flower market, which was a feast to the eyes. pure visual delight and an experience I would not liked to have missed. The colour and bustle of the market was intense and after savouring the smells of the coriander and other herbs and spices we moved through the market to the milk market where the oxen milk was being syphoned from large churns carried in from the country on the back of scooters. Back to the hotel 47 Jobner Bagh for one of the best breakfasts in India before our second trip of the day with Faroog. As wallpaper and fabric printers in the UK we were interested in seeing not only block printing but screen printing. Faroog knew exactly where to take us, we would certainly not have found the small off-grid places he took us to. As I look back it strikes me what an amazing day we had with Faroog, it is at the forefront of my mind when I think of our trip to India. We saw, craftsmen chiselling out designs in blocks for printing, screen printing in operation, dyed cloth hanging out to dry on long washing lines, billowing in the wind. A potter, who showed us how he makes several vessels from a single lump of clay on a very basic potters wheel. A series of highly skilled artists painting tiles and assembling spouts on thrown teapots. A large well organised paper making factory where we saw groups of women working on the floor folding card to make into boxes which are then distributed around the world. From small enterprises teaming with skilled craftsmen and working in often cramped conditions we moved on to see the Gem Palace, an extraordinary architect designed factory, making fine jewellery. The skill and precision was beyond anything we had ever seen. Despite clearly not being in the market for a piece of fine jewellery, Faroog introduced us to the charming young man who's Grandfather had started the business and which now houses, the great collection of artefacts which his Grandfather had collected from around the world and is now archived and on display in a secure room in the factory. By all accounts the V & A museum have been out to see and been impressed by the collection. Thanks to Faroog we saw all this and when on the way home I asked if he knew where I might buy a paintbrush like the ones the potters were using, he directed the driver and took me to a small shop where I scooped up a variety of brushes which in fact I have used today. Thank you Faroog, it was a pleasure to meet you and a joy to be shown so much. I look forward to returning to Jaipur and meeting you again.

Touring Jaipur with Farooq Ji was an absolute delight and one of the highlights of our family trip to this wonderful city. His knowledge of Jaipur's history, architecture, and culture is unquestionable. He's fluent in English and Hindi which was important for us.

Farooq Ji's warmth and helpful nature made us feel at ease from the moment we met him. He showed great understanding of our needs and was flexible in accommodating our preferences. He not only shared fascinating tales about the Pink City but also gave us unique insights into the local life, something we would have missed without his guidance.

What stood out about Farooq Ji was his tremendous sense of humor. He had a knack for infusing history with entertaining anecdotes, keeping us engaged and entertained throughout the day. Our children especially enjoyed his stories and games, making the tour educational and fun for them.

Above all, it was his passion and love for his city that resonated with us. He did not merely act as our guide but became a part of our travel memories. His amicable personality, professionalism, and dedication made our day tour truly special.

I wholeheartedly recommend Farooq Ji to anyone looking for an informative, entertaining, and heartfelt tour of Jaipur. Thank you, Farooq Ji, for making our Jaipur visit unforgettable!

Bonus: He is the best travel photographer for your family photos :)
