Nagarkot - Bhaktapur Excursion Nepal

By Idex Volunteer Tours
Nagarkot is a scenic hilltop village at a height of 2195 meters. It is known for its glorious sunset views of the mountains, as the last sun rays strike Everest and its neighboring peaks creating an orange-red glow amidst the white snow-capped mountains. The Bhaktapur area is also known for the best possible views of all the Himalayan ranges. The name Bhaktapur means the “City of Devotees”. It is an ancient city with palace courtyards in a pagoda and shikhara-style, the reason why it is a listed UNESCO World Heritage site. The medieval buildings and shrines are known for its intricate carvings of wood, stone, and metal.

Kanchanaburi and Kwai River Walk/Hike Review
I really enjoyed this activity today and was amazed by the bridge at the Kwai River. Kanchanaburi is a wonderful rural area and the locals were friendly and respectful. Pok was also very kind and did a great job showing us around the place. I would definitely recommend this activity to anyone visiting Thailand, especially if they are staying in Bangkok.

      Group Volunteering
Very reliable and committed to giving travelers great logistical support. Friendly staff who are intent on providing the best possible service. On the volunteering side, they have connections to certified NGOs who try their best to improve the lives of local communities.

      Orphanage renovation and turism
I was in this program for 2 weeks and it was perfect for me because I've never had volunteer before. So basically we worked half period in renovating an orphanage painting and drawing in some walls, where it will became a computer lab for the children, woth the help of volunteers! It was a very gratification job and made me realize that everyone can contribute someway, whatever it is. On late afternoon and on the weekend we usually did some turist (but very interesting) stuffs. Like promissed, it wasnt just a lot of turist attractions, it was a cultural imersion for real! Very interesting! On the second week, we went to Goa just to chill, go to the beaches, to the market and to a spice plantation, but I actually missed the volunteer work. I wanted more! And now, i feel like it would make much more sense to do something about the world while I travel around. Thanks Idex, for plant this seed in my heart!

Well spended 15 days in India!
The program was very well organized both volunteer work and travel. I felt Very safe and even if I went alone from Sweden, I got a nice relation both to others in the program and Idex staff. It was a Good first introduction to get to know India and to see if volunter work is something for me, as this was my first time. I can recommend anyone to do this, I really liked that it was short. For me it was hard to be Off longer. The way to Discovery India is also Very safe!

I've officially fallen in love with Nepal
I could not recommend the Nepal trip enough! I've just returned from doing 2 weeks of doing the teaching children project and it was by far the best 2 weeks of my life! I wish I could have stayed longer! The project executives were absolutely amazing, they feel like a second family to me now, they're so kind and are without-a-doubt some of the sweetest souls I have ever met. I miss them already! The project itself was incredible. Spending my days with Grades 1-6 were truly incredible, so many emotions were had and so many fun fond memories were made. Saying goodbye to the children was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I also did the weekend trips to Pokhara and Chitwan which took my breath away. The kind people of Pokhara and the mountains had me like a kid in a candy shop, it was incredible. The safaris at Chitwan offered a completely different side of Nepal, a quieter and adventurous side as we came so close to many rhinos. It was incredible! Overall, I'm really going to miss my IDEX family and I cannot wait to book my trip back there. Nepal has officially secured a place in my heart. I will be seeing you guys again. Thank you!

      Volunteer Program with IDEX
During one month I worked as a volunteer for a program which is organised by IDEX. I had the chance to visit different kinds of projects, which was amazing for me. The feeling of being able to help someone, or to put a smile on someones face made me happy! I learnt a lot of new things about people, culture and about myself. I had a great time in Vietnam! Doing volunteer work is the best way to travel!

      Volunteer work with kids
I came for 2 weeks to Chiang Mai to give my help (teaching English) to such amazing little ones.. This experience exceeded my expectations. It was perfect in so many points, since the staff from Idex very friendly and helpful, to the kids who were adorable, to the activities that Chiang Mai have to offer and to the people who I met through Idex (my colleagues). I felt well welcomed since the first day and I recommend this experience for who that want to embrace this cause. These children deserve all the smiles of the world.

      2 Unforgettable weeks in Vietnam
Two weeks in Ho Chi Minh City was definitely not enough time spent here.Very busy city, that never sleeps but friendly people, great food and amazing chance to meet the most amazing people in the volunteer house. The projects are very different but you learn so much from them. Really loved the elderly center, the staff and elderly women were very appreciative and welcoming of our time there. Spending time at the orphanage was really sweet! The children are amazing all they want is a hug, some love and just to play and spend time with them. Beautiful time, amazing people!
