Glimpse of Queens Life of Amber
Jaipur's Amer Fort, a majestic giant of pink sandstone, offers a glimpse into the lives of not just the king, but also the maharaja's wives, revealing the stories of the royal palace and its inhabitants. Peek into the Sheesh Mahal (Palace of Mirrors), a hall that shimmers like a giant disco ball with a single candle, where the queens once relaxed. Explore the zenana, the queens' quarters, filled with intricate carvings, walls adorned with colourful murals, hidden courtyards, and lush gardens. The architecture is astounding: intricate carvings, mirrored halls, and hidden courtyards create a captivating experience. Each turn reveals a discovery - a secret passage, a stunning view, or a reminder of the fort's rich history. To celebrate womanhood, the Rajasthan government offers free entry for women across Rajasthan on Women's Day.

Beautiful Amber Palace with a great guide
We did the Amber Palce Tour with Sid, who is a knowledgeable and friendly guide. He answered all of our questions and guided us to the best vantage spots for photos. And he also takes a great photo too!

A great day out with Sid
Thank you Sid for a great day out. The day was organised with us and adapted as the day progressed which worked really well. Sid was a really kind and informative guide we thoroughly enjoyed his company. It was so nice to be welcomed into ‘aunty’s’ home for chai. Thank you

      unforgettable moments in Jaipur
I was extremely lucky to meet a such wonderful guides as Raj and Umech. ♥️ Thanks to them I not only learnt a lot about hidden mysteries of Jaipur, but also connected with this city in a very authentic and deep way. And the best thing is that we had a loooot of fun !.. :) I was even invited to share their everyday life moments such as homemade Indian dishes, motorbike rides and delicious caps of chai. As a solo traveler, before this experience I always prefered explore city by myself. But after meeting Raj and Umech my opinion chanched quite radically. So if you go to Jaipur and have opportunity to explore the city with them – don't wait and just do it ! It's an experience that marks for life.

      A must for Jaipur!!
Our first time in India and Jaipur of course - we weren’t sure about what we wanted to see, but our guide, Raju, curated the experience so well. We got to visit the early morning vegetable market, drink chai in local spots, and see sights that were not crowded, but beautiful nonetheless. Raju was very knowledgeable and personable. He didn’t rush the experience and went about our pace. Very important for someone who needs chai every two hours!! We absolutely loved the block printing experience, something very unique in Jaipur! Overall, Raju and this tour is amazing!!

      The best tour guide ever!
I could not have reimagined our trip to Jaipur without Raju as our guide! He made our time memorable by taking us to all his local spots (the beautiful morning flower market, 2 amazing chaiwalas, and the block printing house he gets his clothes custom-made at - we found some amazing gifts and handmade clothes there for ourselves!) and having in-depth knowledge about the history of the city and its monuments. We went to his home where his mom Gigi cooked us a delicious lunch and then took a blockprinting class in a serene area outside of the city. Raju became more of a friend than a guide and helped us mold our time in Jaipur based on our interests. My 2 girlfriends and I felt very safe and taken care of with Raju - Jaipur can feel very chaotic to navigate on your own. I highly recommend touring with Bagheera Adventure during your trip to Jaipur!

Amazing time in Jaipur with Raju :)
My experience while visiting Jaipur was one of best in India because of Raju. He is not only a knowledgeable guide but also a wonderful human being. He did his best to make sure I had a great time in Jaipur and I could visit the most interesting landmarks. We had so many unforgettable adventures there which I will treasure forever: meeting local people and knowing more about their life and culture, hiking on the mountains, enjoying the rain and the magical views, discovering hidden places, learning a lot about history and eating the most delicious Indian food, just to mention some.. :) I highly recommend him and his tours to anyone who wants to enjoy a fantastic unique experience in Jaipur :)

      Incredible experience! Thank you Raju!
We spent the last two days in Jaipur with Raju and it has been incredible! It wasn’t my first time in Jaipur, but I didn’t do much tourism last time I came here, so one of my friends recommended Raju as a tour guide and it has been the best tip someone could ever give me. He showed us around, explained everything in detail and made sure we were enjoying ourselves. He did not only take us to the “must see” sightseeing of the city but also showed us authentic and local experiences that as a tourist we’d never discover on our own. He also helped us with some Indian logistics (such as train tickets) and gave us great advice. We had a great time, and we are really grateful for all his work and professionalism. We absolutely recommend it if you want to get to know the real Jaipur while enjoying yourself. Thanks Raju for such an amazing time!

      Raju is the best
Raju is not only the best guide that you can find, but also one of the best person you would like to meet in your life. Spending time together was so nice and stimulating and I have shared real experiences with local people that were also interested about me and my culture. I felt like home with him and I felt honoured to know his family and his friends. I totally recommend Raju for every kind of trip or tip you need in India. He is your guide 😉 and now, he is also my friend. Thanks Raju 🙏 Namaste

      Amazing experience!
I did the tour with Nitin. He guided me to so many nice places and explained a lot. We've spent the whole afternoon by walking around Amer, visiting beautiful places, feeding monkeys and dogs, had a walk around the lake and finally we went to the sunset point. The experience was incredible! I would recommend to book the tour to everyone. You'll not regret it and you'll have an amazing time there!☺️ Thanks for everything!❤️

      The best Tour in Jaipur
I had the best time in Jaipur thanks to have found such an amazing guide. Raju is great explaining everything about Amber and Jaipur and he is also one of the kindest persons I’ve met in India. He helped me plan other things I wanted to do on my own, gave me the best advice and made sure I was doing well during my time in the city. highly recommended, I doubt you can find a better guide.

      Best experiencie in India
We loved the visit to Amber Fort, but what we love the most was Raju (the guide). He is very calm, nice and intelligent. You can just feel that he really loves his job and really wants to help you and explain all the things from his beautiful culture. He took us through alternative paths where we didn't find tourist people and any guy that wanted to sell you something. It was very relaxing after the first intens days in India. After 5 minutes you forget that he is your guide and he became a friend of us. I recommend 100%. He also has good people working with him (like tuktuk riders) that take you back home showing you more beautiful places for a very very low price (and believe me, having the same driver all the time reduces a lot the energy that you have to spend negociating every time a new tuktuk ride). Don't look anymore... if you are going to Jaipur, contact him!!!

Avoid this jaipur by locals they are always force buying prodect and they get commission by this
We had specifically written and told jaipur by local and our guide Raju that we did not want to be taken to ANY shopping. Yet immediately after Amber Fort, we got dumped off at a fabric printing "demonstration" that we could see instantly was going to lead to a sales pitch. To add insult to injury, the demonstration was in a mosquito-infested location and my husband and I both got severely bitten. After we left, we told the guide again "no more shopping". The guide completely ignored this and over the course of the day, proposed visiting a painter, weaver, sari shop, leather shop and two different jewelry shops, before finally taking us up to what he said was a lookout location and then leaving us at his friend's shop! Selfies: Despite the fact that my husband and I are in our early 30s, we do not take selfies nor do we use our phones as cameras. We have a very nice camera that takes excellent pictures and we use that and then upload the photos to our social media accounts. Our guide repeatedly demanded that we give him our phones for selfie pictures and when we said no, that we didn't want selfies and wanted to use our camera, he kept insisting on us giving him our phones. He eventually only agreed to take pictures with our camera if he also got to take pictures of us on our phones. In addition, he kept trying to get us to stand in yoga poses in front of historic buildings which I thought was incredibly disrespectful of the buildings. I understand that some tourists may choose to take pictures that way, but was shocked that the guide ASKED us to do it. Poor knowledge of history Let me preface this by saying that I was a religion major and a history lover who prepared for my trip to India by reading a 600 page book on its history. So I came into the tour already knowing the basics and was hoping to gain some deeper and more specific knowledge about Jaipur and its rulers. I was sadly disappointed. Our tour guide Raju did not possess any historical knowledge beyond that which can be gleaned by reading a guidebook. We were surprised at his lack of knowledge, as we had been told these guides were "trained". After our experience, I assume this "training" must be a basic course on how to navigate the city, not a knowledge-based history lesson. I found myself reading wikipedia articles in the car between locations in order to have a better understanding of what I was looking at. Our guide was not able to tell us specific dates for many of the buildings and did not know most of the historical figures beyond the five primary emperors. In addition, he repeated as truth various stories that have been proven to be untrue or highly historically unlikely. Finally, he would shut me down after I asked him several questions saying that what I had asked wasn't important, or did not matter. My husband found the guide's pushiness towards shopping and selfies most disturbing, but I was most upset by the complete lack of knowledge and general disinterest he showed towards his own history. Overall, this was the worst tour guide I have ever had. The combination of a complete inability to listen to and respect our wishes as to the camera and shopping, as well as the clear lack of training or historical knowledge made this day an extremely unpleasant experience.

We had a wonderful walking tour with Viru today. He was super informative (and answered our many, many questions) and we learned so much about Jaipur, Rajasthan and Indian foods and culture more generally. One of the best walking tours we've been on. Would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Jaipur.

Raju was very knowledgeable and kind. He was our tour guide in Jaipur and was very honest. About the tour itself, he explained many things about the places we visited and gave us some ideas about their culture. We even asked him about shopping and sim card, he did his best to get us one, at the same local price which was rare as people like to cheat foreigners off regarding this sim card matter. Along the way when we were visiting the places, he would show us the best places to get some snacks, lassi and dessert. Overall, I think he was very genuine and loved his job every much, he was even our photographer and has amazing photography skills.

I was lucky enough to have Raju as a tour guide two times. First time we were in Jaipur for a city tour and a food tasting evening. He was on-time, very polite and very knowledgeable about the temples and places we visited. Later we tasted a lot of different local food, so much that I could even not finish them.
The second tour with Raju was in company of my son in Amber - we visited small, old, hidden temples in the old city - he told a lot about local history, religion, legends, etc. On the end we could taste the beautiful meal of his Mom. If you have the opportunity to eat in his house, DO IT :) It was really delicious!

Three friends and I traveled to Udaipur & Jaipur for the Diwali holiday in October 2014. We improvised much of our trip, except for Raju's tour; which a friend of ours, who already toured with him, said we must do! It turned out to be the best decision ever. Raju took us to many places in Amer and Jaipur; Amer Fort, Elephant rides, temples, some really cool spots across Jaipur, his home to meet his family, and most importantly the best Paratha place you'll ever eat in your life!
The two days we spent in Jaipur were a blast. But, it was made so by having Raju guide us around.

Raju met us in the location and time as planned. We walked around The outside of the palace and went into the temple to see the worship of Krishna - that was really interesting with singing and prayers. We then got a tuk tuk to the east gate and walked through the fruit and veg market and the flower market. That was really interesting and Raju gave us lots of information about things. Then we walked through all the different areas - marble carvers, spice market , sari sellers , jewellers etc. It seemed almost Moroccan in the little alleyways. We stopped for masala chai and went into the mustard oil press and a food producers - then to sample some of the breakfast snacks and some of the white sweet almost dessert. Despite our hesitation about eating things from the streets , Raju reassured us these were the best clean and safe places to - and 24 hrs on , we are both fine ! Raju was helpful and chatty for most of the trip but was on the phone for the last hour so our information dried up then - I know he had a problem he was trying to sort so we didn’t mind , but I would have liked the flow of information to carry on.
So an interesting and entertaining tour , going to alleyways I would never have dared go to on my own, and I think I would have given it a more rave hreview if it hadn’t been for the time Raju spend on the phone. Thank you.

The tour with Rajiv was very interesting. Raju has a great command of English and was able to explain historical and cultural information about India and Jaipur, whilst keeping the tour interesting. We visited a number of places, including a Hindu temple, flower market and marble production area. The tour lasted just over 3 hours, which was enough time for us.

I had two days to fill in Jaipur and some idea of what I wanted to see – Raju effectively took my ideas and built the best trip possible out of them.  He made a custom itinerary that included all of the major palaces (water, wind, Amber; as well as Monkey Temple) and provided expert historical explanations.  He knew when to go to avoid the crowds and where to take the best pictures.  Raju knew really cool places off the beaten path – the most amazing step well, the cremation grounds of the royal family, and an area where really friendly monkeys like to congregate.  I expressed an interest in the block printing of fabric done in Jaipur – and he arranged a visit to the Anokhi Museum of Hand Printing (highly recommend); also arranged a bock-printing workshop for me in Sanganer where I got to make two block-printed scarves in addition to learning about the art and seeing how it is done on a commercial scale.  I had an entire afternoon with a very loved and well cared for elephant – absolute highlight of the trip.  And in between – we tried all kinds of great food (even with me being vegan), checked out a real farmers market, saw how the marble artisans create their sculptures, and toured historic laneways with beautiful Havelis.  Bonus – Raju is genuinely fun to hang out with! Great for solo female Traveller.
