This tour will be a day excursion to the holy town of Ajmer (15 k.m.) founded by Raja Ajaypal Chauhan in the 7th century AD.
Owing to the Dargah of a Sufi Persian Saint called Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti(also known as Ajmer Sharif Dargah) who once lived and preached in Ajmer, the city is now a sacred pilgrimage spot for the Muslim community. After Chisti's death, a mausoleum was built on his grave and the Mazar (mausoleum) eventually went on to become the Mughal Emperor Akbar's favourite sanctuary. Chronicles frequently record his visits to the Ajmer Dargah, a place where the Emperor believed as peaceful and conducive to prayer.
