Memorable Day Trip at Jaipur with Janu Tours!

We had a very memorable visit to key attractions in Jaipur with our driver Jaheer and guide Vivek Singh. We were promptly picked up in the morning from our hotel at 9 am. The tour started at Hawa Mahal, followed by Jantar Mantar, City Palace and finally Amer Fort. Our guide knew exactly what to cover and tactics to avoid crowds (as much as possible). He was extremely flexible with the itinerary since we had a 10 year old with us, who needed frequent breaks and wanted to take it "easy". We learned a lot about history of kings of Jaipur, the science behind Jantar Mantar and took memorable pictures.

Two pieces of advise-:
1) In peak season (December), it's better to start at 8 am and proceed to Amer fort first and then come back to the city to complete the rest of the attractions like Hawa Mahal, City Palace and Jantar Mantar. In this way, you will be able to avoid large crowds and horrible traffic. You will be done with visiting all attractions by 1 or 2 pm-then you can relax back at the hotel or may be visit the spa!

2) If you are a NRI, please carry your OCI card with you. This will allow you to pay the regular entrance fee at the various attractions (lower fees). If you go with the guide, they will take care of the ticket for you (make sure you have sufficient cash to pay for the ticket)

Overall, we highly recommend Janu tours. They have excellent guides, seamless communication and great for families!

A wholesome experience

Our guide called us 1 day in advance to confirm the trip and asked us if we wanted an ambassador car. - Highly recommended for a full local experience!
He also asked us one day in advance if we want to start the tour later or sooner than 9:00 AM. We opted for 10:00 AM as we were tired from our trip from Delhi to Jaipur and needed more hours of sleep.

We expected a big group of tourists but it was only the two of us, the guide and the driver. This made the whole experience more intimate, as we didn't had to wait for other people or to engage in small talk with other tourists.

Our guide took us to all the sites from the trip and he also added additional sites which are not major attractions but still were very interesting. This made the tour feel special as easter eggs are always a great surprise.
We asked to go also to Galta Ji as we wanted to see the local wildlife, and our guide gladly took us there with no extra charge.

At the end of the tour we asked if we can stop at a supermarket to buy some drinks and snacks and our guide took us to a local mall where we didn't had to bargain as it had fair prices (which were shown at the shelf). He went with us and waited for us to finish our shopping which was really nice of him.

The guide knows very well the history of the city, answered all our questions, took photos for us from exceptional angles and was a very good english speaker. We went during covid pandemic and both the driver and the guide were cautious, were masks and kept social distancing.

We had our backpacks with us which we left in the car while visiting without incidents. We felt safe during our tour, entertained and well treated.

Definitely recommend!

Great Tour Excellent Guide
Had an excellent trip with our guide Surya. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the sights we went to see, especially Jantar Mantar as unfortunately the sun was behind the clouds for most of the time there making explaining a lot more difficult but he made it all understandable and rushing the the next dial when the sun briefly came out. The car was in perfect condition and our driver Nazim drove through the busy Jaipur traffic perfectly. I would highly recommend this trip to see the highlights of the city and if you are as lucky as we were you will get the excellent Surya as your guide. Thank you Janu Travels.

Perfect Jaipur tour

I found Janu by chance through this website, wanting to do a little independent sightseeing for the next day. He was immediately friendly, flexible and accommodating. There was no need to follow a scheduled tour and he proposed a reasonable price up front for a half day tour. We went to the Amber fort, some quiet extra village sites and ended up in a peaceful Royal gator. He then proposed a special tour of the observatory by Amit and I ended at the city museum ~ avoiding all the tourist crowds. He simply loves his job! Thank you for a special, personalised service where he just dropped plans on New Years Eve and assisted from 8:30 - 2.

Amazing tour with Manoj “Manu”

We did a two days tour around Jaipur with Manoj “Manu” and we can’t recommended it more.
He is the most friendly, kind, respectful person we’ve met here. He picked up from the train station, took us to try local food 🤤, drove us around the iconic places, always taking care of us and giving advices, telling us a bit of the history behind the beautiful Jaipur and introducing us to Indian culture. Super authentic.
Being two young girls travelling for first time in India (with the intensity that that’s implies) he made us feel super safe and like home. Jaipur is a magical place as well ✨
Thanks Manu for making our stay so special, and I wish everyone that comes to Jaipur can have the opportunity to meet him.

I was arranging the visit to Jaipur well in advance with Mr. Khan, the founder of the company. Always prompt in responding, he gave me the right suggestions for the day - both before the trip and when I arrived in Jaipur. On the day of the tour, Mr. Surya was my guide. He must have toured the scenic city of Jaipur a thousand times before, but was very keen to show it to me at its best. He would adjust to my pace, offered options and suggestions, and he put all information on the history of the city in a good context. It was only at the very end of the all-day tour that he apologized for checking his cell phone more frequently: It was his birthday and there were many well-wishers trying to reach him. Nevertheless, he showed a 100 per cent dedication and helped me leave Jaipur with great memories.

Great tour! Nadeem the driver was very nice and chatty and even helped me make my next appointment when the tour was over. Surya the guide was very knowledgeable, gave a nice, deep dive into the city and its main historical attractions. For me, coming to a city like Jaipur without some historical context seems a waste, so it was great to have him fill in the gaps and tell the story in a way you can piece the various bits together. Also, the restaurant for lunch was nice, with a cute kid who did some dancing for tips. Thanks everyone!

Amazing day with tour guide Surya and driver Naveen

Went on the 8 hour tour through Jaipur with guide Surya who was very knowledgeable and friendly. He took us all around the city to various historical sights, told us about each place in great detail and went out of his way to make this memorable experience. We also stoped and drank some local chai and som food. The driver Naveen was always ready to pick us up when we wanted to see the next attraction and drove carfefully. overpriced tour

This was supposed to be an 8 hour tour but it ended after 6 hours and that included lunch time and a visit to a commercial print factory/ showroom. Our guide Surya was knowledgeable and pleasant. We just felt the tour was overpriced for what was included and we could have done without the visit to the fabric store.
