About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- J0burgGirl0 contributionsGreat way to experience street foodWe booked this tour after joining the company for their Mumbai by dawn tour. We love food and had booked lovely restaurants for our stay in Mumbai but looked longingly at the street vendors wondering how their wares tasted but were very hesitant to eat anywhere without knowing the food safety standards and didn’t have any friends in the city to guide us. So we pounced on the chance to get a tour. We went to a range of small restaurants and hole in the wall places. There was a great variety of street food of good quality. Our guide KP was great and tempted us with new morsels long past what we thought was our eating capacity. Beyond the food we had a good time going to different parts of the city and hearing about the communities associated with the food. Strongly recommendWritten September 11, 2024
- J0burgGirl0 contributionsFascinating experienceThis tour was recommended by our hotel. It was a fascinating insight into Mumbai. We visited the fish market at the docks, newspaper sorting, the vegetable market and flower market. It was not a tour where you sit in a bus and look at monuments. It a completely immersive experience. Sights, sounds, a taste of fruit or tea, smells from fish to flowers. It was amazing how walking some of the same streets later was a completely different experience as the first shift had ended and it was on to a different batch of people and purposes. Our guide KP was warm and friendly and a weaver of stories. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience that we would highly recommend.Written September 11, 2024
- Dominic G0 contributionsA taste of India….in an evening.Hotel pick and transport from provider to provider in a nice minibus. We visited some food stalls and some restaurants all of them serving authentic original and different specialities. Namy was great guide, she knows most of the destinations really well so you can avoid the inevitable long queues at these great places. Highly recommended.Written September 11, 2024
- R464FPsamg0 contributionsFoodtasticExcellent tour - we went to places that we might not have felt confident to go on our own and the food was fantastic. Mani had really good knowledge of the histories of the different cuisines. Lots to eat so don’t have food for a while before you go - you will need to be hungryWritten September 10, 2024
- Z8069JLkatieg0 contributionsGreat food tourExcellent tour with Namy, we were able to try many different varieties of indian cuisine that we would probably not have tried otherwise. As well as that, we were able to go around places in mumbai we wouldn’t have gone to if we were on our own, so interesting to see different parts of the city. Would recommend, and prepare to be stuffed!!Written September 10, 2024
- Sunshine451616099080 contributionsA delightful and emotional assault on all your senses As you tour the working heart of the cityA quite exceptional tour. Hard to put into words. No high architecture just the human beating heart of the city. Working folk keeping the city alive in all its basic needs. No automation here just centuries of manual skills and tradition. The pre-dawn start is worth it see the first fish catches of the day expertly thrown ashore and auctioned on the spot, moving through the early dawn with all the people supplying the basics of life. Heaving, bustling, hard but resilient and fundamentally happy and accommodating of each other. A delightful and emotional assault on all your senses.Written September 9, 2024
- Megamart700 contributionsFascinating insight into MumbaiWe were picked up and taken around markets and sites of Mumbai early morning and leant about what goes on in the city every day before most of the city wakes up. Totally interesting and informative. Namrata was so knowledgeable and could answer all our questions and gave us an understanding of a city we would not have access to as visitors had we not done this trip. She tailored the tour to our interests and made sure we were comfortable. A fantastic experience.Written September 5, 2024

- rigobha0 contributionsNarali Poornima walk at Worli KoliwadaJoined a guided walk through Mumbai's Worli Koliwada (fishing village) with the charming Nasreen on the occasion of Narali Poornima. This is a major festival for the Kolis, the region’s traditional fishing community and also the original inhabitants of the collection of islands which make up the great city of Bombay or Mumbai. It wasn't my first time in the village but Nasreen had many fascinating stories that I had not heard before, and had laid on a very special musical performance by Chintamani, the famous Koli rocker/pop star and YouTube sensation. Nasreen also walked us through some of the village's side lanes and alleys which I would never have been able to navigate without help. All in all, a very pleasant afternoon with some new stories, a new angle on the place, and lots of great pictures, especially of the festivities.Written August 21, 2024

I did the Colonial Walk with my sister and her 10 year old daughter. Krupesh (KP) our guide was a veritable reservoir of knowledge of Mumbai’s history and took us around old colonial sites in South Mumbai. Extremely courteous, KP ensured that we were able to visit all the old colonial heritage sites within the limited time we had at our disposal, and he also ensured we enjoyed the typical evening snack at one of the old eponymous Iranian cafes. The transport provided was an additional benefit, since we didn’t had to scout around for the location of the tour guide. It was really a nice experience. With best wishes, Sid.

We had a fantastic walking tour of South Bombay with Rabab. She was so knowledgeable and so passionate about Bombay’s history, architecture and culture that we did not see time go by as we went from one point to the other. The best tour ever !
We’re going to follow up with more tours !

This was our first activity in Mumbai and it was a brilliant introduction. Our guide, Neville, met us promptly in the lobby of our hotel and took us on a walking tour of the heritage area of South Mumbai. He covered the main sites in the area and gave us many interesting anecdotes about the city too. Neville also gave us some restaurant recommendations and texted me after the tour with suggestions of what to order, which was much appreciated. A must do-tour if you are new to the city.

The tour was very informative and enjoyable. There was a lot to know about Mumbai’s old structures and buildings and our guide Meherban was incredibly knowledgeable on all of them. He gave us insight into Mumbai’s colonial history and especially on the city’s Parsi and Gujarati heritage. He was good-humoured, open, and made the experience comfortable, interactive, and suited to our personal preferences. Meherban clearly loved the city and his enthusiasm was contagious; we ended the tour with a new appreciation and reverence for the the city and its bones all around us. I can’t imagine the experience could have gotten any better.

My tour guide Aman was exceptional. He’s passionate about Mumbai/Bombay and his passion, knowledge and appreciation of the city came through at every location and throughout the entire tour. The tour was fascinating and tailored to my own interests in and desire to better understand the history, the cultures, the people and traditions. He went well beyond what was expected in terms of the time he spent with me, guiding me through different neighborhoods and to significant architectural landmarks. The tour ended with a cup of traditional chai tea over great conversation. In truth, I felt that I spent the day with an old friend. A highly memorable experience that I appreciated greatly.

The tour gave us a good insight into the history of Mumbai and the various buildings and key influencers in the development of the city. Again our guide Meherban painted a picture of the city, its history, the key people and conflicts past and present in the area. We saw a lot of different areas of the city, each with its own unique story!

Our walking tour with Pooja was amazing. We crammed in so much without feeling rushed and she managed to get across a lot of info in an informal at with plenty of laughs. The dabba wallas waiting to meet the tiffins off the train was a highlight and Pooja was greeted like an old friend. Don’t miss this when in Mumbai.

We had a great experience with No Footprint's heritage tour. Pooja - who was a great guide - took us on a great survey tour of colonial historical buildings, which combined our interest in architecture, history and culture. No Footprints also kindly matched our schedule so we got to do our tour at a time best for us. We don't have that many days in the city so it was a great way to take some of it in!

I would have given this tour a 10 out 5 if I could. Absolutely excellent. Batul was informed, engaging, fun, and a lovely person to walk around the city with - with an encyclopedic knowledge of the city, I feel like I’ve spent so much more time here thanks to her care and attention. Worth the money and then some. I actually took the pre-dawn tour with her yesterday, and wanted to tour with her again today - she’s that good. I’ll contact No Footsteps and her again the next time I’m in Mumbai, for sure.

I joined a group tour with Aditya Pai, who was very knowledgeable and personable. The tour was about 2 hours long, which I thought was the right length. I learned a lot and enjoyed the tour at the same time. I recommend this tour to learn about some of the major sites and neigh orhoods in Mumbai.
