I have booked a taxi from Agra to Sawai Madhopur after my train was delayed by 25h and I couldn’t waste an entire day. The service was very good, I’ve asked to stop at an additional national park for a couple of hours on the way which wasn’t a problem, and the driver has set up a hotspot for me so I could connect to the internet. I had to do a bit of navigation on the way with google maps, but we have made it to my destination safe and sound.

I stepped in to the Tourist office on the platform of the Agra Cantt train station and met Pramesh. We had a quick talk. I already knew which hotel I wanted to go to and Pramesh helped be book a taxi at a very fair price (250 rupees). He escorted me outside and made sure I got into the cab. The driver was driving calmly and patiently. A little overselling his tour services but did also accept that I didn’t want to go on any tours. On my initiative, he gave me a price offer to take me to Delhi airport, but I found it to be to the high end (and also later, I got a better offer from Ramesh). Next day I needed a taxi to take me to a gem stone shop. It was a new driver, also driving calmly and patiently. He was also slightly overselling his helpfulness and suggested to take me to a different gem stone shop than the one I had decided for. Also in the end listened and accepted my preferences. The driver waited for more than an hour, thereafter took me to the hotel and then to the Taj Mahal. All for 350 rupees. Ramesh had informed me to pay what I wanted. Last trip was to Delhi airport. A new driver showed up. Again driving calmly and patiently and slightly overselling his helpfulness and services. Suggested we’d go to see something on the way. I insisted on now and we went to the airport. Price was first agreed to 3500 rupees but landed on 3.215 which was my last money! All in all very good help and service from Ramesh, always informing me about the driver with name and Id number. Fair prices. The drivers was overselling their services and helpfulness a bit, but always accepted a no thank you in the end.
