About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Sam R0 contributionsA must see in DelhiDefinitely a must visit when coming to Delhi. Super interesting to see wander around the old markets which are extremely active and not at all just for tourists. Be aware when using a guide that they will regularly take you to shops that give “best prices” but are in fact extremely overpriced compared to anywhere else that sells the same productsWritten March 6, 2025
- cj_punk_0090 contributionsAmazing Tour. Definitely go with these guys!I went on a Street Art tour, and Dolly killed it! I actually went on a tour in the morning with a guide and driver that also went to Lodhi Gardens, but I learned way more from Dolly. I also very much appreciate perspectives on current news and events in India like she discussed. I'm going to book another tour with them based off this one, and honestly, kinda wish I did my multi-day tour with them. And all that is just based off of the quality of the tour. When you throw in that the company is an NGO that not only 80% of their profits to better the community, but also that they give people in the slums the skills to get jobs and better themselves, and additional opportunities for employment... Yeah, these guys are awesome.Written March 6, 2025
- Neil E0 contributionsBest thing we've ever done!Unbelievable experience... Our tour guide Tarun was excellent, happy to answer any questions & his knowledge was exceptional. Food choices were varied & excellent and took my wife's vegetarian preference with no issues.. all vendors were very friendly & appreciative... Transfers between some food stops were 'interesting & exciting' ... DO NOT eat lunch before the 5pm tour... You will not go hungry! Definitely recommend!Written February 28, 2025
- Chris B0 contributionsReal IndiaAn amazing experience. Our guide was friendly and kept us safe. This is India in its raw. A must do for anyone visiting Delhi.Written February 17, 2025
- Mert13000 contributionsOff the beaten track in DelhiI wasn't sure what to expect from this tour and am so glad I chose to go. I was the only participant and my guide Komal had an obvious passion for her work. She gave great insight about the activities and industries being undertaken by residents, as well the history of Sanjay Colony and the work of the Reality Gives organisation. I recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see one of the other sides of Delhi.Written February 15, 2025
- davidtj0nes0 contributionsDelhi Street Food TourSpent a great few hours with our guide Dolly on Monday evening doing a street food tour in Delhi. From start to finish Dolly looked after us and transported us to the various stops using a mix of Metro and Rickshaw, both bicycle and motorised. My wife, in particular, had her reservations about doing a food tour in this way as her constitution is not as robust as my own!! No need to worry though as all the eateries were well established and served delicious dishes, both savoury and sweet. Dolly was engaging and a pleasure to spend time with. As well as the food she gave us historical references and information throughout the 4 hours. We would not hesitate to recommend this tour and ask for Dolly if you want a smart and friendly guide.Written February 11, 2025
- TravelSunFood0 contributionsVery interesting food tourGreat guide, showing us around Old Delhi by foot, subway, bicycle rickshaw and tuk tuk. We got to try different street food and learned a lot about food and Delhi.Written February 7, 2025
- O7401BRrebeccaa0 contributionsInteresting and beautiful street muralsVery interesting tour of the street murals in Lodhi Art District. The murals were very interesting and beautiful. The guide was very knowledgeable about the murals and offered many times to take my photo or record a video. We also visited a nice garden, but I skipped the Khan market because I was very tired from jet lag and needed to get back to my hotel to rest.Written January 31, 2025
- O7401BRrebeccaa0 contributionsExcellent tour - don't missExcellent tour. I highly recommend this tour. I was mostly interested in the markets, especially the spice market, however, the tours of the temples and mosque were very interesting. My tour guide was Dolly and she provided so much information. I think the highlights were the Sikh temple and community kitchen and learning about the communal meals; and the Jain temple, seeing and smelling the offerings of spices and rose petals - really a wonderful experience.Written January 31, 2025
- LouT1560 contributionsA fanatic night out!Highly recommend this tour! We are a family of three and we did the Old Delhi Street food tour in the evening. Our host, Dolly, was knowledgeable, fun and a wonderful host for the evening. We would never have found the eateries on our own (and we are relatively independent travelers!). We enjoyed many Delhi treats, including Aloo Chat, Jelabi, Lassi, Kebabs, Chai, Chole Bhature and more. Our 12 year old son loved it - highly recommend for families. Even better our money goes back into supporting some of Delhi’s most disadvantaged communities.Written January 30, 2025
- U9390QGsusanh0 contributionsExperince another side of DelhiI went to India to immerse myself in Indian culture. This tour was part of the plan. Our guide, Kushi was very knowlegable about the colony. She was also very respectful of the community we visited. No photos allowed as we were "not visiting a zoo". We really toured the nitty gritty but felt safe the whole time. It was also good to take the metro with our guide to get there as another experience of Indian life. I would highly recommend this tour.Written January 29, 2025
- AdamB52340 contributionsA Must-See TourThis is a must-see tour, the art is beautiful and meaningful. It was nice to take a bike tuk tuk around to see the art as that sped things up. Ending the tour walking through the Lodhi Gardens is a great way to experience some greenery and hear birds chirping away. The tour guide did a lovely job explaining each mural and was filled with information as we walked around Lodhi Gardens. This your gives you a great way to see a different area of Delhi. Highly recommend.Written January 20, 2025
- Susan H0 contributionsLiving the local lifeWe had a lot of fun on this tour Tickets for the metro were included in the ticket price. Riding the metro added to the learning curve Our guide Rajiv was knew exactly where we going He was an expert at negotiating the busy thoroughfares of Old Delhi. The food selection was very tasty. The stops were very popular so I think the locals also found them to be good food. We even saw the famous Delhi monkeys jumping around as we made our way down one alley. This tour is a great way to experience local life in DelhiWritten January 20, 2025

We booked a full day New Dehli tour in the car including the Street Food Tour in Old Dehli by metro.
It was a long but very varied day where we saw the main sights in New Dehli (India Gate, Gandi Museum, Lotus Temple, Spring Steps, Shik Temple, Tomb Grinders,.... Our young guide Tavery led us through the day with a lot of motivation and gave us a lot of answers to questions that arose during our 5 week trip.
The street food was very delicious.

I went on a full day sightseeing tour of Delhi with several colleagues. Saurabh was our guide. I had a great experience -- Saurabh was very passionate and invested in teaching us about "real life" in Delhi. I learned a lot. The visit to the Gurudwara Bangla Sahib was particularly inspiring. Thanks so much!

We had a brilliant tour with guide Naresh and driver Dharminder. WE were clear as to what. Interested us and that shaped the tour. Naresh really knew his stuff and was able to fill us in on lots of aspects of Indian life - not just where we were. We were very happy with our experience. We chose Reality tours as they are a social enterprise and 80% of their profit goes into support for the disadvantaged in India

I went on a tour of Delhi with Stanley and Ravinder (driver). Ravinder was very kind and picked me up from my hotel out of town. I am grateful to him for getting me there and back safely.
The tour started at the Gurdwara and I was quite overwhelmed with how wonderful it was. Stanley my tour guide was so good. He really knows his stuff and he can also speak really good Spanish! I think he is a great asset to the company. Another highlight of the trip was the Lodi Park and India Gate where he told me the history and remembered all the dates. I had the best time and will definitely go on another tour when I return to Delhi.

This was a great all day trip. We appreciated the opportunity to personalize the tour so we combined sightseeing with a tour of the Sanjay colony. We also really enjoyed visiting the Sikh temple and saw behind the scenes in the kitchens feeding 1000s of people every day. The day was very enjoyable and informative and highly recommended.

We done the full day private tour of Delhi. The first half was at the Sanjay Colony and the remainder sightseeing.
80% of the cost goes to Reality Gives NGO who fund a community centre, school and other initiatives in the slum.
Our tour guide Vijay was from the slum and was fantastic. We were able to pick which sights we wanted to visit within the time we had.
I highly recommend this tour.

I simply cannot speak highly enough of this company.
An amazing day in Delhi with friendly, knowledgeable, considerate driver and guide. The first night I joined a friend at the end of her night tour for dinner, and the owner of the business took us out for a great meal of biryanis! Also an ethical business, and the slum tour was very interesting and thought provoking. Fantastic.

I had two fantastic days with Sagar as my guide. There is something to be said for spending time with someone who lives in and loves his city. And, there is definitely something to be said for investing one's tourism dollars in a social enterprise that gives you an unforgettable experience while directing 80% of the proceeds into programs that give a hand up to youth who lack the very advantages that makes your presence in Delhi possible for you.
Day 1 was the Sanjay Colony Tour. A great experience. With Sagar's help, I was able to learn enough words / phrases in Hindi to engage a bit with the multitude of children, youth and adults who warmly embraced my presence in their community. It was also super helpful having Sagar available as a translator for longer conversations. The conversation with the physician in the health clinic was particularly a highlight.
Day 2 began with a visit to BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir (the world's largest Hindu temple) and Humayan's Tomb with the remainder of the day spent in Old Delhi focusing mainly on the market. The latter was an incredible experience. There is no way to describe sheer intensity of human activity. It was captivating... creating endless memories .... the spice market, the Sikh temple, the chicken market, the view of the market from 5 stories up, the rickshaw rides, the chaos of crossing the street at "Gate 1".
Beyond the obvious recommendation of "book with Reality Tours", I'd offer two other suggestions. First, ask to include the Metro (subway) in your experience. The majority of this vast network has been built since 2005 and puts multiple other major urban centres to shame. It is super impressive in its efficiency, cleanliness, and its emphasis on remaining affordable for all Delhi residents. Second, skip worrying about a checklist of all the sites you have seen in Delhi. There are too many. Just breathe in the experience... go deep, not broad and resist the temptation of experiencing it mainly through the lens of your camera.
Finally ... big shout-out for Sagar. His enthusiasm and optimism are tremendously refreshing and his knowledge of history, culture, religion and more are truly refreshing for a young guy in his early 20s.
