On this half-day walking tour of Old Delhi discover some of the colorful bazaars, visit temples and gurudwaras and get a glimpse into the daily lives of its inhabitants. To date, this part of Delhi retains the character of the Mughal era. It was founded in 1639 when the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan shifted his capital from Agra to Delhi. In its heydays, the streets were flanked with mansions of the rich nobles of the Mughal court. Today much of the past lustre has faded away but what remains still gives a vivid idea of the magnificent past. Highlights • Colorful bazaars • Open air kitchens • Asia’s largest spice market

Start the day with a traditional North Indian breakfast at one of the many shops that line the street. Most have been in the same trade for generations and have their share of loyal customers who still prefer to get their breakfast from these shops rather than prepare one at home. The open air kitchen allows you to observe how your favorite foods are prepared. You may also want to try your hand at a poori or parantha (flat breads). Another street in the famous Kinari Bazaar specializes in wedding wear only. You can also take a rickshaw ride. As you navigate through the narrow alleys, you will occasionally come across a temple or a gurdwara. The oldest Jain temple in Continue your walk and reach the largest spice market of Asia. After the walk, sit down at a local restaurant and enjoy a traditional platter meal with several After lunch you will be driven back to your hotel.

          Corny and boring
Waste of money. Most of our group fell asleep! Translation is through headphones, which is quite difficult to hear. Colourful costumes.

          Beyond the traditional Idli/Vada/Dosa/ Pongal
They have revolutionsed the concept of South Indian cuisine. It's a thoroughly NEW concept of South Indian platter. I believe, the modifications are the results of diligent experimentation and intelligent innovation of the Chefs. Hats off to them. Those of us for whom "South Indian" dishes mean Dosa/Idli/Vada/Sambar/ Pongal only , would be in for a pleasant surprise. Portion sizes are moderate and the 13 course meal we opted for was enough for moderate eaters like us. Big eaters can go for the higher option. Fixed time slots ( of 90 mts) are allotted to customers based on availability - so it's better to book your table beforehand. 13 course dinner for three members cost us around Rs 13000/. The staff are polite and courteous and would patiently explain each and every food item as they are served. Yes, your favourite Dosa is also there as part of the 13 course menu but in a totally totally different avtar that would marvel you. Same with Rasam. But why hear more from me? Just book your table and see for yourself.

Nice place but watch the scammers
Nice place . The park and lake are nice. Interesting very old temple. There are fruit bats in the trees. There is a family asking for chapatis outside the gate to the area and park. Don't get scammed by them. There is a revolving bag of rusks being sold by one of the stall holder for 180 rupees. I got caught then I watched the proceedings 🤔🤪

Relaxing in gorgeous surroundings with fantastic food
This is a hidden away paradise situated on the banks of the Kerala Backwaters. You are picked up by boat to cross to an island where there are seven individual cottages with a bedroom, bathroom and sitting room. The food is exquisite, the best we had on our whole trip to India. It is made mostly from produce grown on their farm, including. dairy products from their own cows. The family made us feel so welcome from the moment we approached the landing till the moment they waved us goodbye. A highlight was the sunset punt trip where we saw the local fishermen setting out their nets.

          Just a new temple
We didn't do enough research and ended up travelling long distance to the temple, to find put that it's a new temple with no spirit, I'm afraid. We did a small ceremony, water pouring over the statuette of the Akshardham, which we haven't done before. But the music and the singing came from a CD. Don't recommend it.

          D&K Canyoneering and Zip lining
It was such an amazing experience ! The terrain was challenging but it was worth it. The views of the canyon and falls were spectacular. Amazing guides Dave, Michael and JR took very good care of us, encouraging us for all the dips from the small to large cliffs to the rocky terrain. They even took photos and videos for us. Thank you so much!

          Well worth it!
We partook in the evening cookery class with Mr Singh and his chef. This was a highlight of our trip and our teenage son was really looking forward to this experience. We first set off to the vegetable and spice markets so learn about the foods used in our dishes and where they came from, negotiating the Jaipur traffic which was an experience in itself! We then took a short Tuk Tuk ride back to the homestay, where we cooked up dishes and then partook in a meal of our dishes. This was a really insightful and pleasant evening which we enjoyed immensely.
