- 735radhikas0 contributionsBeyond expections! My sister and I wanted to explore Ahmedabad, Lothal, Junagad, Somnath and Sasangir. We had certain specific requirements- room with a balcony, jain food, transport etc.. Mr Ajay Sethi planned our trip and personally ensured everything went smoothly and safely. He was attentive to our smallest discomfort and changed the taxi driver who was rather rude and aggressive, as soon as we brought it to his notice. For 7 days we were immersed into the world of beautiful Havelis, the serenity of Sabarmati Ashram, felt uplifted by ideals of great men and women, walked back into time at Lothal, climbing up to the mystical heights of Girnar and become one with nature at Sasangir as the lions, lionesses and cubs went about their lives totally oblivious to our presence or a crocodile soaked in the morning sun. This was truly an experience of everything great- Mystical, Spiritual, Historical, Intellectual, Cultural and Natural.Written November 9, 2023

I made the right choice by booking with Ajay and Distant India Journeys!!
I found booking from Canadian companies to be very expensive so I googled India tour companies and stumbled across this new company. Before I go on, I was very scared to go to India let alone trust an unknown company. I wrote down a possible itinerary and explained my needs as a new Cancer survivor. Ajay stayed up late in India to call me!
What appealed to me was that he appeased my every concern from what I read in books about women travelling in India. He explained to me he had a trustworthy driver who would be with us the whole time, who spoke English, who would pick up Tour guides to give us personal tours and who would be within earshot if we ever needed him. I was very afraid of going but every silly question I had he reassured me over the phone. It wasn't agressive nor did he simply placate me with quick responses; he understood where I was coming from and gave me reassurances....at this point I made the leap to trust!!
The months/weeks prior to arriving to India, Ajay and I formalized our tour. We planned the Golden Triangle of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur with a side trip to Goa. He was extremely prompt and detailed in providing me costs, hotel choices, extra side tours with the cost of tipping and admissions. Nothing was hidden! What I asked he provided me with answers. If he didn't know, he found out and got back to me.
I tend to go over the top, but I was so grateful for his personal attention to my queries that I brought his family Canadian gifts which he graciously accepted.
Upon arriving at the airport, Ajay personally greeted us (my old college roomate and I--two married women iust turned 50) with our driver ensuring we arrived at our hotel and answering any last minute questions. Throughout our visit he contacted us or met up with us to check up on our experiences in the country and with his guides/driver. Ajay wasn't out to make the quick tour deal, as I felt with other Indian providers, he was out to make sure we had the tours we wanted and was satisfied with our plans! You must know, there are things a tour operator cannot be held responsible for like what the people are like at the hotels or services they provide... But guess what? He chose for us hotels and places where he knew people would serve us well because he checks them out! Still, if there was a problem, I know he would have had our back!!
After meeting him in person, I could tell right away he was an honest, hard working family man and he became a friend in that vast unknown country and, for that, put me at ease to experience the wonders of India. I am extremely grateful!

If you are looking for a great India tour, just contact Ajay from Distant India Journey . Why ? Let me answer that with the details of my experience with this agency.
I booked the flight from KL to Delhi on the 1st December, planning for Golden Triangle tour (covering Delhi - Agra - Jaipur). However, till 29th November I was busy with work that I hv not made any arrangement.
Ajay managed to make arrangements for accommodation in 3 different cities in such short period. To make it even more incredible, he has only my words that I will be coming to Delhi. This is as I did not manage to pass any money to Ajay for the tour fee. I had issues on transferring money from my side.
He was extremely prompt to all my enquiries on WhatsApp. When I reached New Delhi airport at about 11pm, my family and I were greeted by a man very presentable in suit and that was Ajay.
He was with us throughout our check in process to the hotel though it was very late. It was me who was eager to pass the tour fee to Ajay that includes hotel, driver, guides, etc.
Ajay was more concerned of us getting comfortable on the first day or I should say night in Delhi.
Even then I only paid half of the tour fee, asking for the remainder to be paid on the third day of the tour. I was as difficult as possible, I guess.
Ajay showed no fuss, no concern on the fee at all. He was very attentive to all our requests, he also constantly made a check if we have safely reached our hotel after each day of the tour.
On top of that he added a complimentary touch with a surprise gift sent to our hotel room.
I was travelling with 2 children, with one being a 2 years old. It was my first time in India, therefore I was nervous. Ajay completely made sure that everything went well, from the airport pick up, hotel check-in, our comfort in our travel, etc.
If he can handle my tour request with an extreme short period of time notice, without the payment, covering all the requests, imagine what he can do for you.
Just contact him, tell him your requests, concerns, etc and let him take care of the rest. Simply an excellent service.

My plan was to see as much as possible from India in 4 days together with my dad. We did the Golden Triangle Tour. The driver was very nice, speaks good English, is patient and relaxed and drives also responsibly (without honking). He also stopped at the right restaurants to prevent stomach ache. The sightseeing was great and we now have the feeling we have seen a great part of india. I would recommend this tour.

I Would definitely recommend Kashmir tour to other people.
Overall the Kashmir tour is a memorable one. The team were very responsive and corrected from time to time where the lacking happened.
everything was perfect, right from House Boat Manager, their service, Shikara ride everything was excellent.
Dal lake is famous for Houseboats, Shikaras, Shopping under lake etc. Must try ones when you are in Srinagar and if possible stay one day in houseboat. You will really enjoy that. Guides are so friendly n educated, hotels and foods are good
My tour planner was Mr AJAY SETHI from delhi (distant india journeys)
He is so kind, helpful and good gentleman.

Sorry I'm late on this review, but I can say, DIJ, and Ajay Sethi are the best. First of all, you can trust this company will provide you a complete and thorough itinerary, staying at first class premier hotels, and employing knowledgeable and friendly guides and drivers. Our group of three and another group of five (separate vehicles) traveled throughout northern India for nine days, including three air flights, and elephant & hot air balloon rides. We celebrated both the AARTI and HOLI festival during our travels. I am happy we have a ten year Visa , as we look forward to returning to India, and will only book with DJI, and Ajay. (Note: This tour was booked prior to our World Cruise, and we left the ship in Singapore, flew to Delhi, and returned to the ship in Mumbai nine days later).

Our association with Ajay Sethi and Distant India Journeys was part of a 25-day cruise to southeast Asia, India and Arabia. Ajay arranged five days of tours in India including airfare, private air-conditioned car, drivers and excellent and knowledgeable guides. The first two days, in Goa and Mumbai we returned to our ship at night. On the third day we flew to Agra and were booked into the Oberoi Amarvilas for two nights in a luxurious balcony room facing the Taj Majal. Observing the monument from dawn to dusk is a feast for the eyes. Our tour of the Taj was leisurely; our guide shared history and details that can only be shared in a one to one interaction with a guide. On the fifth day we arrived in Delhi, again to stay in an Oberoi property overnight. Our local tours at all locations were wonderful...in particular an in depth visit to a Sikh temple in New Delhi with a Sikh guide. Ajay spoke with us in the mornings before we departed with our guide and in the evenings after we had returned from our days' adventures, making sure that all was well and always asking if there was anything extra he could do for us. To sum up this review, Distant India Journeys gets an excellent ++ (plus, plus) rating. There is no comparison to the land tour offered by the cruise line: Our total cost was 1/3 less than that of our fellow cruisers; private car and driver versus bus transportation, private guides instead of large groups of fellow travelers, luxurious hotels, delicious local cuisine...it was a magnificent journey!

We really loved this tour
our guide Mavi Singh was amazing and went above and beyond to make sure we all had a good time he was so friendly and informative and I think this help to make the holiday enjoyable
We were a group of 23 age range from 20 to late 70s
I would mark a 3.5 but there are no half scores
Bad points
Air India are a terrible airline and I am not looking forward to flying
home with them a part of our group who left before us complained of cockroaches on the plane blocked toilets etc
The hotel food is all buffet and although it was ok it caters more for the local people than European taste
Check in on hotel arrival in Delhi was diabolical with some people waiting 5 hours for their room it did improve the rest of the other hotels
There is a lot of travelling but this is what we signed up for and we did enjoy it we saw and experience many wonderful things
We added a 3 day stay to Goa but it’s southern Goa and not the other side so apart from the hotel there is absolutely nothing to do here
I appreciate it is done like this for a rest after the busy time
We felt a bit abandoned in Goa we did try to contact distant journeys but!!!
The tiger tour is pot luck some saw tigers some didn’t but take a fleece as it’s cold on the early morning trip
Enjoy
