Whirlwind trip to the Taj Mahal
Arun Kumar Rajput was a good guide! He knew the history of the Taj Mahal very well and made sure I didn't miss anything. He also was able to get me past the long lines.

Really enjoyed this tour, but may be better as a 5 or 6 day trip
We really loved this trip! Had so much fun and saw many sights. First, we really appreciated our driver, KK Sharma, who took care of us and safely shuttled us through the wild and crazy highways and cities of the golden triangle. He was always prompt and ready whenever we wanted to go from place to place. It was such a luxury to be tired from exploring a monument and come out to an air conditioned vehicle and a cool drink directly in front of the entrance, with friendly Mr. KK. He also made sure to stop often during our drives (he knew where the clean rest stops were) and frequently found us snacks/cold drinks. We felt like princesses! He also packed our TON of luggage into the trunk of his car. Our guides- Ravi, Vijay, and Gus- were also excellent, and made our short but sweet exploration much better by providing historical and cultural context, as well as ushering us past lines and taking amazing pictures! One point to consider- I felt like our 4 day time frame was a bit rushed- I would recommend taking a bit longer, as we were only able to hit up the highlights, and then had to take long car rides every day. Two of the days we arrived quite late and then had to wake up very early in the morning. Hotels- we stayed in the Clark Shiraz in Agra, the Tigress in Ranthambore, and the KK Royale in Jaipur. The Clark Shiraz was very comfortable, the Tigress was gorgeous and slightly less comfortable, the KK Royale was quite uncomfortable, but they were all generally clean and good for India. Nothing on the level of a true 5 star in a bigger city, but totally fine. Food was ok, if catering toward the bland tourist palate. I am celiac, and our guides/driver helped me so I didn’t get sick, which was huge! Make sure to bring a card in Hindi explaining any food intolerances, it helped a ton! Ranthambore was very beautiful, but the safari was extremely bouncy and quite uncomfortable. If you have longer legs or are tall, you will be absolutely smashed in the tiny seats with your knees whacking the back of the other seat for hours. The seats were way too small. None of the western couples could fit all the way on the seats, so the person on the inside was hanging half into the aisle. One of us sat out the afternoon safari as it was so uncomfortable. I wish we could have had an option to pay a bit extra for a private jeep instead. No tigers, but lots of other wildlife, and it was beautiful in the morning. One thing I didn’t like was the cultural demonstrations/aka tourist traps with intense pressure to sell. We did buy some items, but hated the way we were forced to go through room after room with more and more stuff, particularly since it ate into the time to see the attractions and was quite exhausting. Much better would have been a market tour or guidance to some shops based on our interests, since I definitely wanted to shop while in India, just not for those specific things. Overall we had a wonderful time, and felt very safe and taken care of. I don’t think I would have felt safe traveling in the area alone as two female westerners, so this tour was a great chance to see the area while having a bit more flexibility than a group tour.

        Epic Taj Tour
Omkar was an EXCELLENT driver, was on time, clean car, and fantastic and safe driving to Agra from Delhi. I met my tour guide Praveen (Rocky) at the 5 star hotel (Trident) and we left to Taj. Praveen (Rocky), my guide was an AMAZING…he knew ALL the photo spots, was incredibly knowledgeable of all the history and architecture of the Taj. I have a roll of epic pics and video, and the Taj itself cannot be missed by ANY traveler. He made sure I got all the pics I wanted and free of any tourists in pics!!! lol. Breakfast at the hotel was phenomenal as well, and much needed after the early morning travel. Private guide and driver is the ONLY way to travel to the Taj!!!!

        Awful roads - exhausting trip.
TERRIBLE roads via car travel (which is the only way to get there). About 50 km of the road from Udaipur to Kumbalgarh is completely dug up dirt and there is absolutely no paved road. The journey is exhausting and not the safest as the sand created a dust storm during a part of our trip. Cannot imagine travel once it starts raining. Why not keep a portion of the road paved?!! The road to Ranakpur isn't dug up but not the best. Wait to travel there if you can.

        Ultimate day touring around Udaipur
My friends and I took a full day private tour around Udaipur’s famous sites. Our tour guide Pintu was incredibly knowledgeable in sharing the history and answering our questions. He also took gorgeous photos of us in front of the best spots so we can remember our special trip together. The next time I or my friends visit Udaipur, we’ll be hiring Pintu to take us around and capture memories on film!

We had a truly spiritually enlightening experience on our day tour. The guide and driver were amazing people, they went above and beyond to help us get arranged into our hotel the night before when we had had arranged our airport pickup through them, they were prompt and helpful with hotel staff on check in and helped us get out reasonably. I feel that they made the experience in Delhi far less confusing… we are from the US and things are very different here in India. If It’s your first time, I suggest having a local guide assist you, the culture and how they do business is very different and could easily throw someone’s otherwise magical trip into a nightmare. That said, this team turned ours into a magical adventure and my family of 6 and I are forever grateful! We plan to return in a couple months for their Taj Mahal and Golden Triangle tours!!!

I should likely also tell you how amazing the places we went were. My sons ages 10, 12, 15 and 17, had a truly magical experience at the iron pillar grounds. First a crow flew and landed on the gate as we walked up it hopped closer instead of away as we approached as if to welcome us… it was the closest any of us ever was to a wild crow. It seemed so wise. Just stared at us curiously… we all said hello… it seemed like it would of even been fine with being pet. But we were quickly distracted by a wild dog that also made a b line straight to our family where my kids gave it love and it rolled over and decided we were its new family… so we were off to explore the park and the boys were sitting by a ruin when a couple squirrels came up to them. My middle son had some cereal in his back pack and offered some so they stuck around a while. Meanwhile my twin flame and I went off to meditate and a family of green parrots came in to see what we were doing… first it was one… I said hello to it like you would a parrot in the US… It attempted to say it back a couple times and did pretty well… then it’s family sensed something was happening and we had a whole flock over there attempting to say hello! We felt blessed and went to walk the park some more… after the Iron Pillar we went to a temple complex that honors Shiva, Kali and Krishna… this was epic to me. I am aware that the soul that is Kali was also the incarnated soul that was Mary and that the soul that was Krishna was also an incarnation of the man most call Jesus. I know Jesus and Mary were here in India during the missing years in the Bible… I know Shiva represents the Divine Father, Kali the Mother and Krishna the Son… didn’t know there were any temples that honored them as a family… how beautiful! The priest was amazing. The temples were simple, clean, very powerful place to meditate and seek healing or guidance from above. We also went to the Lotus temple and a textile factory! The textile factory was a little over the top on the hard sale… but the overall education and experience there was worth enduring the pressure sales. We got some amazing deals on a Sari for myself and formal ceremonial garb for my sons. Then they dropped us to the airport after an amazing adventure we will never forget!

      Thank you Nikita Travel Team!
      God bless you! 😇
