- 546mariej0 contributionsA tour guide is a must in IndiaWe went to India for a friend's wedding but decided to also travel to the different cities in India. We went to Agra to see the Taj Mahal, Varanasi, Udaipur, Jaipur and Delhi. We had a wonderful experience because Tapas at Trinetra tours did a wonderful job helping us plan flights, hotels and tours. It's the only way to go in India.Written November 3, 2024
- Passenger207411672700 contributionsFantastic toursOur first visit to India and I was recommended Trinetra Tours by my brother. Usually I organise tours myself but I don't think that I could have seen the parts of Delhi without Trinetra's help. I would like to say a very big thank you to Vijay (driver) and Shankur (Taj Mahal) for showing us the sights and making our trip very comfortable. A big thank you to Tapas, Mahendra and their team for organising Amritsar at such short notice. Should I visit Delhi or India again then I would use Trinetra again.Written October 29, 2024
- Voyage424055288990 contributionsIncredible customised experience of Mumbai, Rajasthan and DelhiWe had an absolutely wonderful experience with Trinetra Tours. From our initial communications with Tapas and Mahendra during the planning stage, to our local guides, to our lovely driver, Jacko, everyone was so helpful, knowledgeable, professional and attentive. Our hotels were superb, offering the best service we have had anywhere in the world. We loved that our guides were all long-standing locals (mostly born and bred) of the amazing places we were seeing. They were always punctual and flexible if we wanted to adjust the itinerary here and there. The care and kindness we were shown was next level. We have no hesitation in highly recommending Trinetra Tours and will definitely use them again. Thank you, Trinetra!Written October 19, 2024
- vulcanov0 contributionsThe best travel agency I ever hadThe best tour I ever had. Everything was fantastic; views, hotels, food, guides, organization, drivers, quality of the cars, train, etc. The travel agency has adapted at all times to the changes that have arisen in the program. At all times we have felt safe with the travel agency, who have worried every day to know if everything was going well. The staff of the travel agency, hotels, guides, drivers, representatives has been very professional, polite, kind and helpful.Written October 18, 2024
- DrDWR0 contributionsNagaland - remote ExcitementPrivate tour to Nagaland If you need someone to construct a tailor-made tour in India then Trinetra Tours based in Delhi is the place to go. Having used them for twenty + years to organise photographic tours we renewed contact for a trip to Nagaland in NE India. From the moment we left Delhi airport arriving from the UK we were escorted to our chosen hotel. As there were 36 hours before our flight to Dimapur Trinetra arranged a bonus visit to the Lodhi Gardens and also the Bahai Lotus Temple. Great start. Our internal flights were all arranged by Trinetra according to our plans which were fully met. Arriving in Dimapur we were met by a ‘birding expert’ and his driver (also an expert, as roads are appalling after recent heavy rains causing flooding, landslides and potholes full of water.) Road development is on-going on a massive scale. However, the heights of the forested mountains with their rolling mists and the depth of the valleys were superb. We were able to visit Wokha, Kohima, Pfutso, Mokokchung quite far apart given the state of the roads and time taken. We had two objectives. The first was to visit the Nagaland Bible College. The whole area is dominated by Baptist churches. Our second target was bird-watching. We saw many birds, some in flight, some in dense foliage and some in the open. Be aware that internet access may not be easily available and ‘posh’ hotels do not exist, yet comfortable without the trimmings: but the experience will live with you afterwards. I ‘take my hat off’ to Trinetra Tours for managing to meet our objectives. Their Admin staff are very prompt and helpful as are staff on the ground.Written October 15, 2024
- arunl20130 contributionsExcellent tour of Rajasthan with TrinetraThis was the second time we used Trinetra and it was as joyful as the previous time. From the planning stage, using Tapas' extensive knowledge and experience, to the actual tour, everything was brilliantly organised and we had no concerns or issues. It was like revisiting old friends. As we had come to expect, the hotels that Tapas recommended were all excellent and we had a lovely time. Trinetra staff kept in regular contact to make sure everything was ok. Unfortunately we were advised of a family bereavement back home in the UK while we were on our trip and Tapas and team were very considerate when they found out about this. The news obviously impacted our trip but we still had a great trip. We will definitely use Trinetra again, and always recommend them to family and friends.Written October 13, 2024
- 738suhasp0 contributionsGreat Tour!We like to give a shout out to Tapas and the team at Trinetra Tours. They did a fantastic job organising our recent trip to India which included the Golden Triangle Tour and a tour of Ladakh. The tour was well planned out. All the tour guides and drivers were very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating to our group’s needs. All hotel and airport transfers were seamless. We would recommend Trinetra Tours to anyone planning to travel to India.Written October 12, 2024

- Sherpa070058555790 contributionsA wonderful customized experience touring the Golden Triangle of Delhi, Agra and JaipurTapas and his team fashioned a wonderful customized tour for us, which afforded us an experience we will treasure for many years to come! We began our tour in Delhi, with a timely and warm greeting at the airport — and this was the start to a 7-day journey that included not only the sites of Old and New Delhi, but also a breathtaking sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal in Agra and beautiful sites in Jaipur, including a kite-flying adventure on the rooftop of a local family’s home and a fun leopard safari where we were lucky enough to see three or four leopards! Our driver was outstanding and attentive; our tour guides in each city treated us with great courtesy and impressed us with their knowledge and expertise each step of the way. We visited awe inspiring sites, rich in history, architecture and culture. We felt secure, well-tended, and well-fed! On our recommendation, my sister and her husband took a separate tour with Tapas’ team and were thoroughly pleased and delighted. Tapas is a true gentleman, and his wonderful wife is equally gracious. We are thankful for such a wonderful trip. We would highly recommend Trinetra Tours to anyone visiting India.Written September 17, 2024

- drsaloni0 contributionsThe Magic of Tapas !It started about 6 months before my trip that Tapas poured his heart into planning just few short days for my family. The level of details and humorous emails were a Treat that have spoilt me. Tapas plans for all my physician moms and had an amazing reputation that was put to test. Every tiny detail was taken care of,superb guides on Jodhpur, Jaipur and the most award winning driver. I have grown up in India but moved away 20 years ago and this trip was to show the kids Indian Culture. We are savvy, well traveled and Tapas impressed us in India like no other. He has my loyalty and friendship now and I truly recommend him. Bravo !!!Written August 23, 2024

I travelled to the north on the first part of this trip to see a different part of India as a solo nature woman traveller. I loved the history and spectacular scenery of India
The toy train from kalka to Shimla was different and took in the first glimpses of the Himalayas.
I was happy to have the very professional and attentive care of the Trinetra travel team.
They met a guided me thru various airports or stations so I always felt safe
They arranged fantastic drivers - which is important as we travelled thru busy cities full of people animals and varied modes of transport
Trinetra chose midrange hotels as requested- all clean and well appointed
I loved the detailed itinerary they prepared before travelling but also that I was able to change and add in things I wished to see and do
I would always use Trinetra for any travel in India - thanks to Tapas and his team

Booking a private tour in India over the internet can be an anxiety provoking experience. Based upon the hundreds of rave reviews of Trinetra Tours, I took my chances and was exceedingly pleased. From the first email I sent to the welcome back home email greeting sent to me by Trinetra, the communication was fast, detailed, responsive and thorough. Many, many emails, many, many questions, all were responded to with gracious hospitable and informative replies. Trinetra worked with me on creating the exact trip I wanted at a price that was pleasing and far less than had I booked with an American company. Trinetra owners and managers live in India and have first hand knowledge of the properties and sights. They provided me with pros and cons of various sights, cities, and hotels, helping me to narrow my choices. They tailored a trip to my interests, level of hotel, and desires of what I wanted to see. I was exceedingly pleased with their selection of hotels, some of which were boutique hotels with excellent accommodations, uniqueness (200 year old palace on the Ganges; tented 5 star camp in the national park) and top notch service.
I was worried about the quality of the vehicle but was glad to ride in a clean, comfortable, air conditioned van with working seatbelt and a pleasant driver who was a joy to spend time with on the long drives between cities. While you may be able to fly between some of the cities, we opted for driving for most cities as a way to see the country and more deeply experience the culture. This turned out to be a good experience, as we felt we really got to understand the Indian culture and see their way of life outside the bigger cities. However, the roads are in poor condition with lots of holes, unpaved sections, and a lack of stop signs and stop lights. The driving is beyond crazy and you have to put on your seatbelt and just not look ahead if you are to survive being driven anywhere. Our driver was safe, but the rest of the people on the road drive wherever and however they want, even on the opposite side of the road and freeway. Stop lights and stop signs are wholly ignored. Cars share the road with animals. Horns honk continually, so much so that you can't even tell who is honking at who or why they are honking. India has not figured out how to drive in lanes, drive a straight line, share the road, take turns or drive with caution. It is the only aspect of the trip I wish I did not have to endure....but even if you fly everywhere, you still have to be driven to and from the airport and to and from the hotels....so you are certainly going to experience the Indian "Me first!" driving philosophy.
The guides were all professional, knowledgeable and respectful. They accommodated our request to skip the tourist shop presentations and the tourist lunch spots.
Any requests we had to make changes were immediately addressed by Trinetra and with a smile and everything is truly "No Problem". Trinetra wants their visitors to have a great experience of India and their desires to ensure this happens really shows. They monitor their drivers, guides and city representatives to be sure all is going as planned. You have a representative in each city who has the sole job of taking care of any requests, concerns, changes or problems you might encounter. You have 24 hour access to your representative if need be.
We visited New Delhi, Udaipur, Jaipur, Agra, Rathambore National Park, and Varanasi. My recommendation would be to skip Rathambore unless you are completely willing to see nothing. Tiger sightings are rare and despite the guide books saying there are plenty of other animals to see, it simply was not true. There are deer, but who travels to India to see deer? If you do go to Ranthambore, I highly recommend Oberoi Tented Villas. It is a 5 star treat that made up for seeing nothing but bushes in the park. We were treated like royalty at the Oberoi. The food, the accommodations, the atmosphere are all top notch, and they create surprise experiences for the guests which adds to the feeling of being in a really special place.
I would highly recommend Varanasi on the Ganges to see how life is lived on the most famous, but most polluted river in the world. Trinetra recommended the Brijama Palace, which was so unique and beautiful, with excellent food, quiet but beautiful music and dancers in the atrium, yoga on the deck over looking the river, happy hour on the veranda, and a boat to take you to and fro. It was one of the highlights of the trip.
My other recommendation is to stay in nice hotels if your budget allows. After a long, hot and humid day in the crowded villages, amongst the poverty, dirt, cows, pigs, camels, donkeys, beggars, overloaded buses, street side sewer drains, completely insane drivers, constant honking of horns, and crowds of people almost impossible to walk through, to retire to a luxury hotel is a nice way to rejuvenate.
I confidently recommend Trinetra. Should I travel again to India I would most definitely book with Trinetra.

We were a group of 17 travelers from the US, and we had two days to get back and forth from Mumbai, and see the sites in Delhi and Agra. Trinetra staff was very helpful and thorough as we planned via email, and always promptly responded to our many questions. Our travels went very smoothly, everything was executed professionally. Our tour guide was excellent, very knowledgeable, interesting, kind, and curious about our goals for the trip. I highly recommend working with Trinetra to plan your time in Delhi.

Knowledgeable tour guide who brought me and my friends to explore the mystery of Taj Mahal. We were rushing for flight returning to home town and was thinking to skip the lunch but he made good suggestions of buying takeaway of roasted chicken and beef. Overall the trip was fun, safe and smooth.

I undertook a 14 day tour of Dharamshala, Shimla, Haridwar and Rishikesh designed in conjunction with Trinetra. It was thoroughly enjoyable and I found Trinetra to be a well-organised and impressive tour operator. Their communications were fast and reliable. Their drivers, guided and hotels were a great introduction to India and I do not hesitate to recommend them.

Trinetra put together an amazing tour for us (4). Everything from beginning to the end was seamless, our reps, guides, drivers were outstanding, from the time we've started, Feb.1, 2019 to March 6th, our departure. We have visited Delhi, Udaipur, Ranakpur (Jain Temple), Sardargarh Fort, Jaipur, Agra, Khajuraho, Varanasi, Darjeeling, Kathmandu, and Nagarkot in Nepal. We have stayed in fantastic hotels, some of them were converted Maharaja palaces which enhanced our Indian experience. Mahendra and his team put together a fabulous tour for us, highly recommended. Everyone of our guides made sure that our dinning experience was safe and enjoyable. The guides accent and pronounciation was always understandable, and they were very knowledgeable and informative. They have taken us to places that we would have never discovered ourselves. We were so lucky to have booked our trip with Trinetra.
