We leave the city of Huaraz to the place called Pitec (3850 masl) at this point we will have a wide panoramic view of the southern part of the Cordillera Blanca, from this place we start the walk and after walking approximately 3 hours we will arrive at the Churup Lagoon 4450 masl, where you will stay for about an hour to take pictures, walk around the lagoon and then return to the city of Huaraz.

Amazing views just be well adjusted to the altitude
First trek on our trip to Peru….it was worth the 3hr (mainly uphill) hike there and back (would recommend this Laguna to that of lac humantay) but do be well adjusted to the altitude as after an initial flat walk along the river it then becomes an upward climb…the view at the top is something special. As well you start off with a guide but don’t expect them to accompany you on the hike, you just follow the path (and people).

          Absolutely beautiful!
The hike was beautiful! The drive was pretty long, but it was very pretty. Definitely worth going to! We didnt really get much of a tour, however, that was totally ok. It was mostly a ride to an amazing place. And out guide did his best to communicate with us in english.

          Amazing!
An absolutely amazing trip! I booked this tour around 8pm the night before. I was aware it was a Spanish only tour but being that it was last minute I booked it anyways. The guides were terrific, they apologized for knowing little English but I felt well informed by them the whole time. I did this tour the same day I arrived in Huaraz and I will say I struggled a bit with the altitude but I am still glad I did it. If you are scared of heights, get car sick, or have struggled with altitude sickness previously be warned. I never get car sick but the ride up the mountain did make me a little queasy. We stopped in the city center for ice cream after they picked everyone up. We then made our way to the park, stopping one more time along the way to put in our orders for our lunch when we returned from the mountain (it was a small family run restaurant in the middle of the countryside with absolutely beautiful views) We did the hike which was about 30-45 minutes (including pictures, which the guide did an amazing job taking for me) then we got to kayak (single, double, or they will take you out in a group on a small boat) single was 20 sol On the way back we stopped for the preordered lunch then we headed back to the city where we also stopped for a brief wine tasting and more ice cream/chocolate. This tour was way more than I could have asked for!

          Not what i expected
The Tour it self was nice and the Glacier very beautiful to Look at. I would definitly recommend it. But when we arrived to Start the Tour in Huaraz there was no "Scheler Artizon Trek" Bus but we were transferred into a "mony Tour" Bus . So we had a mony Tour which costs around 80 Sol instead of a "Scheler Artizon Trek" Tour which costs ~135 Soles. So i would recommend the visit the Glacier but Not to do a Tour with "Scheler Artizon Trek"

          High quality Huaraz trekking
My friend and I took 3 day trips with Scheler's agency (Laguna Parón, Glacier Pastoruri and Laguna 69) during our stay in Huaraz. They were very thoughful and timely on all our excursions and had by far the best customer service we came across in our time in Peru. I'd highly recommend them.

          Unforgettable experience
First to start with is communication which is professional and very informative via WhatsApp.We had to postpone our climbing experience by one day due to health issues which has been fully accepted. During equipment tests we were given first instructions regarding how to dress and eat before climb. Our guide Esteban was helpful and very experienced climber, gave us a lot of attention and hints in order to make it to the summit back and forth within 4h20min. Overall it is once in a lifetime experience for someone who never had any climbing experience so far. Safety is one of the key words of Scheler Artizon Trek which for myself played a huge role once selecting the best tour company in Huaraz.

Efficient and punctual. Great value for money
The pickup was spot on, and the bus was comfortable. The hike is self guided so you are basically paying for the transportation. Hence I recommend taking this tour over the more expensive private tours. As for Laguna 69, it's an absolute must-do! Stunning views leading up to an even more stunning lake. It's a 14 km trek back to base. Make sure to acclimatize a day before as you are going up to 4600 masl

An experience of a luve time
Great adventure. Used Johnny’s tours from Huaraz Peru. We went from rain to hail to wirlwinds eith hsil to snow. It is the smallest of the glaciars but a great adventure to climb it. It is a 3 mile climb in below zero temperatures. Dress accordingly.

          Rainy but worth it
Loved the trip! Be prepared for obscured views due to clouds and rainy conditions (also due to clouds).

Short and nice hike to the Glacier
It's 40-50 minutes from the bus to the Glacier area. You can take horses almost all the way to the top. The view is nice but it's very cold.

          Our first Laguna in Peru
It's a very nice place. Windy but beautiful. You can climb to the viewpoint or to walk near the lake. I recommend to climb first to the viewpoint. It worth it.

          Amazing trip to Mateo glacier
We had a fabulous tour with Victor as our guide. He made us feel safe at all times and provided us with a great adventure! Everything about the company was professional, from messaging the owner, to meeting in their office, getting our gear (which was all in great shape and top of the line brand name gear), the drive to and from the glacier was safe, and our guide Victor took such great care of us. I can’t say enough great things about this company. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering an outdoor adventure. Also, the glacier and the surrounding mountains were absolutely breathtaking!!

          Excellent company and guide
Three of us booked a Nevado Mateo private tour with Scheler. We had a excellent and stress free experience from start to finish. Scheler was very professional, helpful, and communicative. Not only did he help coordinate our trek, he suggested nearby hikes to help us acclimate to the altitude. On the day of the trek, our guide Victor was very friendly and skilled. He made us feel comfortable and made sure we were safe. The equipment they provided was high quality.

          High times
We had a BLAST on our trek to Mateo Glacier, where we summited to a gorgeous view of all the mountains surrounding the glacier. Our guide, Victor, was not only incredibly kind, but extraordinarily experienced and provided a sense of security during our entire trek. It was a fantastic experience and we would do ALL the treks with them if we could!
