Best tour to Quillabamba and Choquequirao
Best tour to Quillabamba and choquequirao. Hernan is excellent, very knowledgeable and makes sure to take care of those on the trip with him. He is always very accommodating and makes sure that everyone is having a great time. We had an excellent trip hiking with him for 5 days to Choquequirao. He took care of everything and it was stress free as far as worrying about the campsites/tents,/etc. We had excellent meals prepared for us on the trail.

Hernan Gamarra is absolutely the best!
We would not have asked for a better tour guide than Hernan. His attention to detail with our many desires and questions was outstanding. Our time spent there was well planned out as he took care of details we didn’t even know how to ask about. Our experience was rich and wonderful.

    Machu Picchu andean city
Climbing, in the Peruvian Andes, to the heights of the imperial city of the Incas, is one of the most beautiful experiences that a person can tackle in his life. It is incredible to see how the considerable stone moles are combined in a harmonious and mystical-religious balance. Sacred City I surrender to its beauty.

    Great guide at Machu Picchu
We were very fortunate to get Lourdes as our guide. We hadn't booked in advance, and picked our guide based on how well folks responded to some introductory words in English. Lourdes came back with a snappy answer, and proved to be very knowledgeable, funny and patient. She has been at the site for 12 years and was a docent at a museum in Cusco before that. We learned a lot and had a wonderful afternoon.

Fantastic Tour Guide for Cuzco -Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu
My husband and I had the pleasure of Hernan’s expertise for 5 days, traveling from Cuzco through the Sacred Valley and on to Machu Picchu. He and his driver Isaac took us to wonderful locations, both remote and more well known. Hernan grew up in the area and had in-depth knowledge of the landscape, people and every topic on Peru we discussed. His attention to detail and his availability to us was a priority: including taking a train ahead of us to Machu Picchu to meet us for our tours. We came away from this part of our trip enriched, exceeding our expectations.

Best time with our guide: In
Our guide from the Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel was the best. Erick took us up, down, all over, with great care and knowledge. He was a pleasure to spend a few hours with and was very caring with us on the many rouch steps. He has a great casual friendly disposition and pointed out what we wanted to hear without too much detail where we did not need it. The bonus: the best pictures. Erick is a photographer and knows the best spots and then frames the best photos, Erick made our visit a real pleasure. The hotel is the best in that it is virtually by the bus station but in a nature reserve - incredibly not a part of the bustle of the township - 2 minutes away,

Hernan Hermosa - excellent private guide!
When my daughters (ages 35 and 33) and I (age 56) reminisce about our trip, the first thing that comes to mind is Hernan! From the moment he and his driver met us at the airport, we knew we had made the right decision in choosing a private guide. Hernan quickly felt like a trusted friend! He speaks very good English, pays attention to every detail and is very organized securing train/bus tickets, park entry passes ahead of time and providing our transport each day. A year or so before our trip, a friend of my daughter’s recommended Hernan to us. I began emailing Hernan to ask questions and put together an itinerary including time in the countryside, on the trails and in the city. With Hernan’s great suggestions and scheduling, we were able to spend 3 days in the Sacred Valley, 1 day on the Inca Trail, 1 day at Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu, 2 nights in Agua Calientes and then our final 2 days were in Cusco. Hernan was always very responsive to my many emails providing recommendations and tips. From Texas, we flew overnight to Lima then caught a connecting flight to Cusco for an early morning arrival, then Hernan and his driver took us to our hotel to settle in, have our first Cocoa tea and prepare for our adventure. Hernan prepared us each evening for the next day’s activity with what to expect, what to wear/layer with and how much water and snacks to pack in our day packs. On every hike Hernan was very attentive and cautioned us not to push too hard and to pace ourselves. He was very patient with our questions and along the drive or hike each day he shared the history of each area, farming and local traditions or shared his personal stories of growing up and living in the area. On some days we were the only foreigners at our destination and in the busier areas Hernan guided us away and around other groups or tours. In Urubamba, on our way to visit a family farm in the mountains, we stopped and visited a local farmers market and purchased some fruit to take with us to give to the family. Arriving to flute music and drums, we were introduced to the family members, enjoyed an outdoor lunch, then were dressed in traditional clothes to herd alpaca and participate in the Pachamamma mother earth blessing ceremony. Each day started early but we always ended each day’s activity with plenty of time to return to our hotel to rest and clean up for dinner. We felt like we acclimated well to the elevation and were excited but anxious about hiking a portion of the Inca trail. Again, Hernan made this day special. The morning of our Inca Trail hike we enjoyed a vista dome train ride along the river to the trail head which was filled with spectacular scenery and anticipation. Once on the trail, we paced ourselves with frequent rest stops, lots of water and Hernan encouraging each of us and ultimately arrived at the Sun Gate to see our first glimpse of Machu Picchu and celebrate our accomplishment! During our time in Peru, we toured many Inca sites, a weaving center, salt mines, markets, museums and art galleries and Hernan always made time for photo ops, rest breaks, great lunch spots, browsing or shopping. We were in Peru for Mother’s day and Hernan took us to a local restaurant for lunch where we were able to sit amongst and witness multi generations enjoying traditional music, dancing and a meal. Hernan had a way of making each day feel extra special for us. I highly recommend Hernan because of his expertise, personality and genuine care and his smile is an extra bonus! No words can describe the experience and we’re forever thankful Hernan was our guide for this trip of a lifetime!

    Unforgettable experience with Camping Tours
We just had an absolutely unforgettable experience hiking the Inca Trail for 4 days and 3 nights with Camping Tours. Our guide, Paco, and all our porters were truly our family during the trip. The food was amazing, equipment was good quality, we felt safe and in good hands, and the customer service by the office was impeccable. We had a slight snaffu and Camping Tours bent over backwards to make it right. They care a lot about their customers and it shows. I can’t recommend Camping Tours enough and would come back to Peru just to do another tour with them.

IncaTrekkers: Juve is an excellent guide, and he will personalize a trip to your tastes.
Juve is very knowledgeable, he communicates very well, and he treats the site and all the people who have had a part in its history with respect. He is very willing to branch out and create a personalized tour as your interests might dictate. Being a native of Peru, he knows where to find places to explore and eat that are off the beaten path and give a more intimate picture of life in Peru. He has a very good working relationship with drivers and porters and restaurants and motels.

Best tour Guide Machu Piccu and the Sacred Valley
We spent three days with Hernan touring the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. From the moment we first made contact to plan our trip we were impressed with Hernans responsiveness and attention to detail as we customised a tour to meet our interests. Once we arrived and started our trip Hernan was wonderful, sharing not only his knowledge of history and culture but his explantion of many of the ancient folklore storys added plenty of entertainment along the way. I truely loved Hernans willingness to share not just his knowledge about peru and its people but about himself as well, this generous spirit was also displayed on the day we climbed H/Picchu - my partner wasn't feeling well and Hernan did not hestate to take our backpack although he was already carrying his own. Thank you Hernan, your generous spirit added to our holiday memories

Tourist focused care with an extreme knowledge of the area
I was amazed at how much I enjoyed my time with Hernan. He was not only very knowledgeable about the Cuzco, Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu area but he was extremely kind and willing to meet all of our needs. He was full of energy but at the same time he was sensitive to the fact that we were a little slower than he was due to us having to get used to the altitude. He took his time and most importantly his tour was something that my two kids (15 and 12) enjoyed as well. He had great vehicles that were comfortable and had great air conditioning. What I liked as well was the fact that he had made connections with locals in the area and would even have us stop by to talk with real people in the community instead of just focusing on the regular tourist stops. I would not choose anyone else and I can't wait to send more people from my family and group of friends to Hernan for their upcoming trips.

The Best Sacred Valley Guide- Creating a Flexible Tour to Meet Your Needs
We found Hernan Hermosa';s guide service on Trip Advisor and what a stroke of good fortune. I have used private guides on several trips throughout the world and Hernan ranks among the very best. He is knowledgeable, dependable, punctual, helpful, thoughtful, and funny. Hernan also speaks wonderful English and is reasonably priced, He will tailor any schedule that meets your needs... from a few hours to as long as you trip requires.. Do not waste your time weighing your options when it comes to deciding on who to use.. I can honestly say Hernan showed us the real Peru and Peru should be proud to call him a citizen of their fine country.

As we cannot travel at present, my daughter booked a 'virtual tour' of Machu Picchu for me with Hernan Hermoza Gamarra yesterday. It was a wonderful experience! Hernan was so friendly and knowledgable, and provided us with a wealth of information about Machu Pichu, well illustrated with photographs, maps and diagrams. He told us about the history and geography of the area, and showed us around the ruins and also showed artefacts found there. He really took a lot of trouble and gave us generously of his time and expertise.
Hernan is a local man and normally a tour guide, but due to the pandemic there have been very few tourists, so he put his knowledge to excellent use in taking us on this very enjoyable 'virtual' tour. I thoroughly recommend people to take a 'tour' with Hernan. It made me look forward to the future, when maybe we can ask him to take us there in reality! Thank you Hernan!

I met Hernan as a guide 12 years ago the first time I hiked the Inca Trail. He was a great leader then, and the experience he provides is even better now. I brought a group of 17 hikers and he and his team took care of everyone, fed us amazing food, and accommodated each one of us. I highly recommend hiking this trail at least once in your life and using Hernan and his team as your guides.

This is one of the best tour guides I have ever met. And I travel a lot. Hernan truly cares about us, always making sure we are having the best time, meeting our every needs. For example, I told him I could not get up early. He then booked us into a hotel right inside the train station, so we only need to get up at 7 am for our Machupicchu journey. For Rainbow mountains, he booked us ATVs so again saved us two hours of hiking, which was a good choice. As hiking can be taxing at such altitude. I also forgot to give him one of the traveller’s passport, so he had to make calls and go to the stations to book us on the same train, bus and trail pass. So patient, so kind. We owe him much. He also took me to buy the 100 % baby alpaca blanket, and the price is even better than the factory price. He is a world-class professional guide, his van is comfortable, clean and well equipped with oxygen supplies. He is well trained in first aids as well as answer any questions you have about Peru and the attractions in perfect English. I hope to see him again and wish him success and happiness.

Hernan is simply the best guide ever! He made our trip to Machu Picchu so easy and fun. He is quick and responsive with emails when booking the trip. The van that he uses to pick you up in is spotless and comfortable with great drivers. The porters and the chef were all fabulous. The amount of food we got was almost embarrassing but it was so delicious. The chef was incredible to be able to cook all that on a propane stove.
The hike is so beautiful. Hernan paces the walk to your skill level and he is so knowledgeable about the flora and fauna, as well as Peruvian history and the Incas in particular. It's astounding what the Incas were able to do in such a short time.
Our nights were spent in a comfortable, roomy tent with thick sleeping pads and warm sleeping bags. I can't say enough about how well organized the trip was. But the warmth and passion that Hernan has for his beautiful is passed along to all the guests. It was an amazing experience. I would go back tomorrow and I use Hernan and his team again!! Thank you!!

Hernan was invaluable, both in helping me plan my 7-day visit to Machu Picchu, Cusco, and the Sacred Valley, and then in organizing his team to make it happen flawlessly. He was always most responsive, professional, and detail oriented, and tailored the tour to my interests. His team of guides and drivers was spot on, always on schedule, and courteous. My Machu Picchu guide was one of the most informative, interesting, and professional guides I have ever had the pleasure to meet. I recommend Hernan without hesitation to anyone thinking about a tour to this part of the world.

Hernan is one of a kind!!! We were so delighted with our time with him - the tour of Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley, and Cusco. His knowledge of the Incan Empire, and local customs and traditions, is vast, and he makes every story and explanation interesting. This was my second trip to Peru, and my husband’s first - I learned much more this time around, thanks to Hernan. And I was on a mission to find the perfect set of Torito de Pucara (rooftop bulls), and he made that happen for us!
If you visit Peru, whether to tour, hike, or trek, you can’t pick a better companion than Hernan.
Hernan, thank you my friend, it was a pleasure to meet you.

I know without a doubt that Hernan was the absolute best tour guide for our trip to Machu Picchu. He is a native of the area and knows so much history and interesting facts about the area. His English is impeccable! He has a very nice easy going nature and is so pleasant to be around. He was our guide for three wonderful days and was always on time to meet us with a smile each morning. He took me to a fantastic local restaurant in Cusco for a delicious local lunch. I would never have found this place on my own. He then suggested the absolute best restaurant for our meal later that night. Hernan is the BEST! I'm already planning my trip to Peru for next year and I'll definitely use this fantastic guide, Hernan, to help me plan my trip and guide me on another wonderful travel experience in Peru.

Hernan and Victor were awesome! The trail was moderately difficult, but the accommodations surpassed my expectations and definitely made it a little easier. Having delicious (and a ton of) food at every meal was great and kept us energized for the hike. I learned a lot about the trail and felt free to ask a million questions. We had a large group and everyone hiked at different speeds, it was nice having 3 guides to hike with each group's speed. I plan to go back and do the trail again (in a few years..) and will DEFINITELY use these guys again!

The company we ended up getting for the tour guide was amazing and very informative. They showed up at our hotel, brought us to a bus station, and got us to Macchupiccu. This ticket is NOT normally accepted though. We had to fight them to accept this printed out ticket. We were told they only accept tickets bought at the Macchupiccu ticket entrance area or via the peru embassy website.
