About
Your guide fell in love with Wadi Rum sands, turned goat barbecue to #kozza_milk_bar and able to talk non-stop about them and other fauna (and humans too - from biblical times to nowadays), flora and rocks of the surroundings. We have chosen Al-Mishrak mountain to live here far away from the tourist centre, not just coming and going back to the city, we know and love every corner of it and want to share the beauty of the desert without peple crowds and engine noise

About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- U48JCmelissag0 contributionsToo expensive for what it worthJafar and July are really nice host. Just to know, the camp is unavailable by car. The rooms are great. Unfortunatly, there were no hot water to take a shower... The food was good, especially July's potatoes for breakfast. The price is way too expensive for what we got. On booking, we did the reservation for a room (for 2 people) for 23jod. But then, they ask us to pay 23jod per person plus 10jod each for the dinner (chicken and rice). The diner was good but expensive too.Written February 22, 2023
- Irina S0 contributionsStaying here has made for a lovely experienceWe were very pleasantly surprised by the comfortable, homey environment. The opportunity to sit together and relax in the common area was welcome after the sights that the hosts took care to drive and guide us through, and the ethnic, home cooked food only added to the experience. Coupled with the beautiful views, colorful sands and iconic hills, arches and mountains (and even a fun dune to run down from!) And that's without even mentioning the opportunity to herd their flock of goats and delve further into the mountains' less traveled paths which truly ended up being the cherry on top for us.Written July 2, 2022
- 763carlotas0 contributionsBest people and experience ever! The best people and the best experience!!!!!! It was great to meet them and most friendly people ever! - chjac7770 contributionsLife changing experienceIt was wonderful to meet the Jafar and July and feel their enthusiasm and visions for their bedouin heritage and future development. Espescially was I guided up and down a mountain with great support from July to overcome my fear of heights. To have that experience walking her goats to the top of the mountain was life changing! And to watch the stars, the sunset and sunrise with my husband in the quiet surroundings in the dessert nature was too! July is a well of knowledges telling all about history, geology, nature based in her archealogy/history degree from a Russia. Thanks for this stay!!Written January 6, 2020
- DragonLPP0 contributionsGreatest tour in Wadi Rum - Highly recommended! Our guide Jaffa was really kind and funny (like crazy funny :D ) and the tour itself was amazing. Pickup and dropoff (Aqaba) was smooth, just in time as agreed before by the email. Along the way we could sit in the back of the truck and we stop by all the main landmarks and got all the necessary commentary from the guide. Definitely bring the camera because of all the beautiful sceneries, also the guide is willing to take pictures of you. In the end, Jaffa took us to his home (he lives genuinely in the desert all the year) to meet his family and offered us food and tea. If we had more time, we would definitely stay for the night - there was barbecue fire place and rooms ready. Thank you!Written January 6, 2020
- Kamiel S0 contributionsFantastic stay at this beautifull campMost friendly people I ever met. Great food, great hikings. I would definitly recommend this place! The jeep safari was awesome, the accomodation was good, good beds, toilet, shower. At night you can look at the stars(beds outsite).Written November 3, 2019
- EdithS8250 contributionsAn unique expérienceif you want to live all the stereotypes of a night in the desert (luxurious tents with air conditioning, campfires with musicians and full of tourists clapping their hands), the Malakot Inn is not for you. on the other hand, if you wish to live a real authentic experience then go for it! Jafar and Julie welcomed us as friends or family member. they allowed us to live a very beautiful adventure on a human scale in the heart of the desert. Julie knows each plant, each typology of stone, and takes care of the goats (we accompanied her after sunrise to walk the flock). Jafar is a true desert man who cooks really well ... a real treat! the accommodation space is simple and functional, no useless luxury, just the essentials (a comfortable bed and a good down) to enjoy the experience. we can only advise you to share a unique moment with Jafar and Julie at the Malakot Inn Edith and FrançoisWritten November 3, 2019
- OlaSpak0 contributionsOne-of-a-kind hosting in one-of-a-kind surroundingsFood, hospitality and surroundings amalgamate into a unique experience. If you judge your experiences by how the waiters are dressed, how soft and spotless the bed in the room are, then avoid. But don’t miss it if you want something to remember for the rest of your life.Written July 27, 2019
- Oleg D0 contributionsGreat desert and tour!It was amazing tour, the best experience in all our traver thru Israel and Jordan. You will never forget it. If you plan to come from Israel, Eilat-Aqaba border crossing, you can leave your car on a big free parking around the border crossing. Julia can help you get transfer taxy from the border to the desert, or to Petra first and next day to the desert for example.Written May 13, 2019
- Chris B0 contributionsGreat experience!!Jafar picked us up at the railwaystation and the tour inmediatly started, through the dessert offroad with his pick up driving like mad max. Later in the afternoon a great tour without any other tourist hit the high lights in wadi rum by sunset in a rush. In the evening chicken and vegetables out the ground and eat like bedouins on the ground. Next morning hike with the russian lady, Julia, the goats and dogs around their mountain. Great experience of the beatten path for the tourist who liked that. Thank you, Jafar and Julia.Written October 29, 2018
- GubchikA0 contributionsUnforgettable Wadi Rum!That was an amazing desert experience - jeep safari and night under the stars in Wadi Rum with Julia and Jafar. You will get to see many incredible rock formations and climb them too, sink your feet in the warm sands of the dunes, learn about history of the place and see beautiful sunset while making the tea in the desert, spend a night under the stars in between the rocks on the top of the mountain wrapped in a thick blankets. For those who prefer comfort there are soft beds and modern shower with a toilet. Julia and Jafar made this experience unforgettable. Thank you very much! AnnaWritten October 26, 2018
