- I1006NZjosiem0 contributionsGreat boat tourSuch a fun boat tour! Nikola knew so many fun facts about sites around the lake and was a great host. The wine was excellent, so impressive that the white, rosé, and red was all fantastic.Written May 5, 2024
- V8997MVvladimirt0 contributionsExcellentExcellent and friendly staff, also a calm ambient. The wine was nice and good composed with the "meze" plates. A was also truly amazed over the quality over the own brewed gin and the prokupac red wine. I will come and visit in this summer again with my daughters, and try the wite wines.Written May 3, 2024
- AmandaRoams0 contributionsA great birthday celebrationWe had a wonderful day painting and drinking wine. But it was a very long day. My suggestion to make sure you really enjoy the day is to go for the easiest painting option. 😀 The vineyard went above and beyond even making sure there was cake for my friend's 60th birthday. I highly and enthusiastically recommend the experience.Written August 8, 2023
- M2192X0 contributionsNot worth itSlow service. 3 hours to taste 5 wines. 5 minutes information from the guide in the cellar. Not able to visit the wine fields. The guide served the wine and disappered. Not open for moren questions or information. They only had a few of the wines left.Written August 1, 2023
- 230shaym0 contributionsGentle hike and beautiful wineThis is a stunning tour where you get a feel for the ohrid countryside. It's a short, accessible and interesting hike. Philip was an absolute star - engaging and accommodating from beginning to end. His knowledge on wine and mountaineering made our day. Very happy to have had the chance to walk the original Via Egnatia.Written May 3, 2023
- bozanas7700 contributionsExcellent experience. This is a must do! The monastery/wine/rakia location is set back behind a small village creating a perfect secluded area. Nothing better than enjoying the peace and calm of nature while trying some fantastic wine and rakia/brandy. You can taste their knowledge and passion. You feel like family when your there and it speaks volumes as to who they are. We went in the off season and spent about 3ish hours there. Will definitely be back. Can’t wait to see how big they get :)Written April 12, 2023
- christiaan b0 contributionsJust a great dayWhat a wonderful experience this was! Me and my wife visited this beautiful place hidden in the macedonian mountains. My wife loves art and paints some back home me on the other hand always wanted to try it but never really got the chance, what better way of combining art and the one thing im passionate about ‘wine’ . With Dejan our teacher/guide and at the end of the day our friend we had such a great time! He talked with so much love of the history of his motherland but also with a great sense of humor, and gave me a great introduction to the way of the brush. I must say that even me (no talent) with the help of Dejan managed to create a nice painting. After a day filled with creativity, great wines (which by the way are made on location) and lovely platters we drove through small macedonian villages back to the lake of Ohrid in less than 25min. Overall the best day we had in this beautiful country! I would recommend it to anybody.Written March 26, 2023
- 650aleksandarr0 contributionsTop notch authentic wines, pristine nature and serene relaxing surroundingOne rare pleasant surprise! Exquisite little winery, situated in a remote but very peaceful location, in the middle of a small river valley, surrounded with steep forested hills. Beeing there in february I can only imagine how amazing it would be with all the greenery and wildlife arround... Sorry for that one, but something to look forward to! My favourite and what I realy wasn't expecting was terrific tasting range of wines. Midrange pricewise, but top shelf quality wines, both reds and whites. Needles to say that the tasting was not enough, so I was too happy to get few bottles for home, so I can extend the enjoyment of the refined tastes at least a bit more. I also have to praise the artistic part of the experience, Dejan was a very easy going guy and an excelent painting guide.Written March 9, 2023
- 55gustavt0 contributionsdrinking wine surrounded by naturefirst of all, the surroundings are absolutely stunningly beautiful. and to sit there and drink these good wines with a little cheese was a dream experience for me, who loves wine and cheese. this is an experience I can really recommend. Philip who owns the place is a super nice and knowledgeable host who made this experience a lifetime memory.Written March 9, 2023
- Gaol4e0 contributionsLovely Place !Perfect place to spend some time, friendly stuff, good wine, very beautiful nature, big yard. The story of how the wine is made, and how everything begins is awesome. It have a monastery near by, and a very beautiful river. The whole place worth visiting. If you a nature lover, and you come to visit Ohrid, try to visit this place you won't regret. I will come back soon !Written November 29, 2022
- reljanskog0 contributionsVibes & vinesThe fact that religion has played a central part in the Ohrid area is unsurprising, since the lake and its surroundings undoubtedly has an incredibly serene and spiritual vibe. The hillside overlooking a valley where this monastery and its winery is located is no exception. Even the winery's dogs are at absolute peace, barely batting an eye before going back to their slumber on the arrival of new, wine-thirsting guests. The winemakers themselves make you feel right at home, starting with the much appreciated pick-up from Ohrid town all the way through the tour of the winery and subsequent tasting. You can tell it's a fairly new endeavor of theirs to bottle squeezed grapes, but they sure have the right mindset to make the monastery a must-visit for wine aficionados visiting the area in the future. The wine then? Well, we all have to start somewhere. But give it some practice and the presentation some more love and I'm sure the bottles will sell themselves eventually. For now, it's a perfect spot to wind (and wine?) down while feeling ever more connected to a higher power for every glass of mediocre Macedonian merlot.Written November 23, 2022
- Mykyta T0 contributionsBest place on OhridThe best place in Macedonia. The owner was most pleasant. Wine, snacks and other drinks are very tasty. I highly recommend this place to everyone.Written November 21, 2022
- mdrapes230 contributionsFantastic wine tasting experienceSpent the evening here with my partner and parents and it was fantastic. We did five wines with a pick up service. The whole experience was amazing. The pick up was punctual, the tour round the Winery was personal and the tasting was fantastic (top wine, a lot of it and with a personal touch). If you are in and around Ohrid, you HAVE to go here.Written November 15, 2022
- Nikolaos K0 contributionsGreat time with quality wines at a great calming placeVery good experience, with a small tour at the beginning inside the cellar, and a nice selection of different wines for the tasting part. They even offered one of us a different selection of wines when he informed our host that he is more a “red wine guy”. The finger food was also great for the wine tasting experience. The place is quite exceptional too, isolated by the city vibe but not too away from Ohrid. We will definitely visit the winery again when we will be around Ohrid in the future. Don’t miss it!Written October 30, 2022

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! While taking a taxi may cost around 500-700 Denars, it's unquestionably worth it. Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed, and as we traveled during the off-season, we had the opportunity to enjoy a private tour. Despite being a relatively small winery with only two staff members, they excel in creating a welcoming atmosphere and genuinely care about accommodating your personal preferences. For instance, we neglected to mention beforehand that we were both vegetarian. Stefan, our host, responded by providing us with an even larger cheese plate and went above and beyond to ensure we felt at home. Overall, the atmosphere was delightful and exceptionally friendly, complemented by delicious traditional Macedonian wines and new offerings from the monastery winery. While getting there required a bit of a journey, it's a journey we wholeheartedly recommend everyone to experience!

My partner and I had the pleasure of coming to explore North Macedonia for a very rainy week in early September. Two and a half months later, we are still talking about how special this experience was!
Simon was extremely knowledgeable, very kind and we came away feeling enlightened and uplifted (not just because of the alcoholic content🥂). Being an ex-sommelier, I have tried some lovely wines but I can honestly say that Monastery winery produces some of the most beautifully balanced wines that I have ever had the joy of trying. Not to mention the beautiful setting, lovely dogs and very tasty charcuterie!
We would recommend this tour to anyone who will listen and our only regret was travelling with hand luggage so that we couldn’t bring more home.

Wow! What an incredible gem. A very special place run by very special people. Hidden in a beautiful valley just outside Ohrid, the winery is a perfect example of local tradition in building, wine making and generous hospitality. The owner treated us like family, delighted to show and share. Even the priest from the monastery, which they rebuilt too, was there to share a drink. For a young winery the range of wines is impressive, each demonstrating originality but rooted in tradition. The reds particularly impressed me, King David taking the crown!
We’ll definitely return and enthusiastically recommend everyone to go.
Cheers!

We discovered this winery across a monastery in the middle of amazing nature not far from Ohrid.
The wine has exquisite taste and top quality. I have bought and shared bottles with family in Burgundy and despite their pride they recognize this wine superior to many wine bottles from Burgundy. That says a lot! I’m Coming back whenever I’m in the area.

Our first real wine tasting. We were picked up from the hotel by car by a nice couple. With a very interesting conversation in the car we arrived at the Monestry. Here we were fantastically received.
Immediately we started an interesting tour. This was done very nicely by the man who had picked us up from the hotel. He could explain this in a very entertaining way by being himself and with fun humor.
Then we were allowed to sit down to start with the real wine tasting. At the table, very tasty and local food was served, then served the different wines at the table
According to the program, it would take about 2 hours. But because of the coziness and the delicacies we certainly enjoyed there twice the time.

We contacted the winery direct and they organised transport for us. Located in a beautiful area next to the hills. We hadn't realised that there was no actual vineyard - the grapes are bought in and bottled on the premises. Enjoyed the tasting of around five wines and the meat and cheese platter. Trip around the small winery with opportunity to buy wines. Pleasant young man undertook our tour. He was a little quiet so difficult to hear above the band practising for the forthcoming evening entertainment. Still a good trip. Unfortunately our transport back was smaller than a Fiat 500 which for four large adults was challenging to say the least!

The winery has a very positive vibe and the nature around it is relaxing, it goes perfectly with tasting different wines that are made by experienced wine masters.
Next to the winery, it's a monastery on the hill where you can take good pictures.
We booked and went on this winery tour after our wedding because we wanted to relax after the stressful period of wedding planning. The host and employees made sure we fully enjoyed every sip of wine with a story behind each wine type.
Before we went home, we all bought a few different wine bottles to fill in our wine collection.
The entire tour was worth it and we'll visit again.

The winery is located in the middle of the nature near to a monastery which makes the experience so special. We tried 9 different types of wine which we really liked especially the white ones . Would definitely recommend to anyone who likes wine 🍷 and is curious to learn what the region has to offer.

Excellent activity. The pickup was actually a few minutes early despite a notification that there was traffic which might delay the arrival. Stefan was a good driver and talked to us about the towns, vineyards, and landscapes we passed. On arrival we received a tour of the wine making and distillery areas. Were then seated at a lovely outdoor area beside the small river flowing through the property. Tasted 6 excellent wines (4 white, 2 red) as well as 2 spirits accompanied by a large charcuterie plate. Afterwards we bought additional glasses of wine to continue to enjoy the atmosphere before the return ride to town. In all a great summer afternoon!

Monastery winery is set amongst beautiful green valleys and mountains in the quiet countryside just out of Ohrid. The staff were wonderful - so helpful, generous with their time and information about their wines and our whole experience was exceptional. We would recommend going there if you have the opportunity.
