Discover with us this city born out of a historic coincidence, whose destiny will be to become the largest, best organised and most populous and prosperous town in medieval Istria. Together, we will start in the lower town area and slowly make our way through the upper town, travelling back in time as we proceed uphill to Saint Euphemia’s, as people used to during the ancient Holy Week procession. We are locals. We were born here. We live and breathe Rovinj at its purest. It does matter to us to present it in a genuine and true way. We will tell you where we would buy the best fruits and vegetables, where the best coffee is made, where the cakes are sublime and the gelato leaves you breathless. You will get the local point of view on many topics. And this is something you cannot find in any guidebook. Honest!

Great way to learn about Rovinj on your schedule
Goran was great. He gave lots of background on Croatia (not just Rovinj) including some tips such as "travel after Germany goes back to school and everything is much less crowded" - apparently the week before, there were 10x the number of people in Rovinj. We spent 2 hours walking around Rovinj, where he explained to us the history and today. Was very knowledgeable and his English was perfect. He offered for us to contact him any time in the coming days if we had any follow-up questions on Rovinj or Croatia. The private tour was nice as it gave us flexibility on scheduling (we specifically asked for an earlier start time to make the tour work with a dinner reservation, which Goran was able to accommodate)

    Brilliant private tour
My friend and I had a private tour with Goran in July and he was an excellent guide. He was really knowledgeable about his home town and even gave us some great tips on where to eat afterwards! Would definitely recommend checking out the tour.

    Lovely Rovinj
From Opatija at the Dalmatian Coast, we went for a day trip to old city of Rovinj. Since it was our first introduction to an old town in Croatia, we found it so charming. Narrow alleys, cobble stones & Venetian influence, particularly at the port. The art galleries here are better than the ones in the Dubrovnik tourist area. Take your time to explore the galleries & shops. We had some very good seafood here too. Average per pax for lunch is around 20 euros for a simple lunch.

    Amazing
Our guide Goran was very informative, not only telling us the history of Rovinj which was very interesting. But also advising us on bars, restaurants etc. we would thoroughly recommend this walking tour to anyone coming to Rovinj, it was a very enjoyable experience.

    Great Introduction to Rovinj!
The tour is a great way to start your visit to Rovinj. We learned about the history of the region and the beautiful city of Rovinj. Goran was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guide. He was also extremely accommodating the start time as we were delayed at the airport. He didn’t even flinch when we asked him to move the tour back by 2 hours and certainly didn’t short change us on the actual tour. Goran helped us arrange a driver for a day of wine tasting which is a must do in Istria as well as several great restaurant recommendations. This tour guided by Goran is a must do in Rovinj.

    Wonderful walking tour in Rovinj
Our stay in Rovinj was highlighted by an amazing, interesting, informative and fun walking tour with gorgeous Goran. He took us up all the cobblestone streets in the old town and imparted some of his wealth of knowledge of Istria/Croatia along the way. I was particularly impressed with his international knowledge. If you are traveling in Rovinj definitely look up Goran. Pamela

    Excellent guiding in Rovinje
We had a very good walking guide tour with Goran. We had a small group and it was easy to listen to the town's history. Goran did an excellent job bridging the town's history and architecture with life in modern day Croatia. It was really nice, and he was a easy to communicate with and very attentive. Top notch.

Excellent guide for Rovinj and Istria
We were very lucky to have Goran show us around Rovinj as our personal guide. He was very affable and knowledgeable. He was obviously very passionate to share about his part of the world and assisting us with practical things like mobile SIM cards (we needed one for Slovenia). We only had half a day with him in Rovinj as we were driving around up the coast to Slovenia but Goran made sure we had his recommendations for the next few days of our road trip! Easily one of the best guides we have personally experienced in our own travels. Will be back to Istria soon and will definitely be looking to ensure Goran takes us around again.

    The best turist guide Lili
I can recomend our guide Lili. She is wonderful guide, she showed us Rovinj, Vrsar, Dvigrad, Limski kanal and Bale. We could realy feel Istra and she showed us Istra from different point of view, very personal. There are free tours if you stay in Maistra resorts (hotels or campings). But anyway you can call on Maistra turist office (+385 91 231 00 33) and ask for turist guide Lili. You will not regret!

From the moment we met up with Goran at the war memorial he was full of passion about the information he was sharing with us about Rovinj, its history and the locals.

The tour is 90 mins but you are not walking for 90 mins, we had regular stops whilst Goran shared so much into information and insight into the Rovinj we visit today.

It is a great value walking tour in the most beautiful city. A must do for anyone visiting Rovinj.

This was a great thing to do - Goran had a great knowledge of the history of the area and presented it in an easily digestible and pleasant format. He had great energy and was full of really good tips for dining and also enjoying the area. He took 2 hours to walk us through Rovinj and it’s story. Very highly recommended.

Unfortunately we did not take this walking tour until near the end of our stay. If possible, you should take as soon as you arrive. The tour guide was very good and did a great job in explaining the history, sites and local places for food, ice cream and shopping tips. It is best to wear comfortable shoes, as the roads and paths are cobble stone and hilly. This was an excellent way to get your bearings of the town and to understand its history. Highly recommend you take the time to take this tour.

We had taken private tours in Dubrovnik and Split, as well as on vacations in other parts of the world. This was a stand-out tour - funny, engaging, yet so informative, giving perspective , history, and context for all the information. We could not recommend it more highly.

We had a great time taking the walking tour with Goran. It was great to hear about Rovinj's history and, since Goran is a local, he could provide real information about events and changes that he's observed during his lifetime. Really appreciated his perspective.

Goran, a very likeable local guy was our guide, made the whole thing so worthwhile.. a very enjoyable & interesting evening. Some excellent information about the history of Rovinj, and the Istrian peninsula.
Explanation of the different architecture styles, and giving an insight into the lives of people through the ages.
He explained where to get the best coffee & cakes, the best restaurants where the locals go.. and so much more.
If you book this tour and your guide is Goran.. it’s your lucky day.. worth every penny.

Absolutely loved Rovinj! Would totally recommend it to anyone visiting Istria, especially at sunset. Its Italian/Venetian influence is what makes it charming, as with Motovun. These two places as the jewels of Istria. Not really impressed with Pula, (apart from the amphitheatre). We generally found the food appalling in Istria and the beer fizzing and a non descript delivery of alcohol that wasn't particularly cheap. The two places I have mentioned were the highlights for me, the rest I found meh! Wont be rushing back.

We enjoyed Goran’s tour very much. He pointed out all the highlights of the town. We enjoyed learning about the history of Croatia and appreciated the opportunity to ask lots of questions. Our plans didn’t allow for joining a scheduled tour so Goran set up a time to meet us privately. A good experience.
