First up, this is a mountain bike tour. We do not offer tours by e-bike. Be prepared to pedal!
Setting off from Korcula you’ll pass by beautiful countryside, vineyards & olive groves whilst enjoying fantastic views of the village, archipelago and the Peljesac channel. During a couple of rest stops (make sure you bring water) we will share with you local knowledge about the area and answer any of your questions.
Towards the end of the bike ride, you’ll head to two family-run wineries to refresh & reward yourself with delicious wine grown in the area. This includes tastings of Grk, a unique and flavoursome white wine originating from Lumbarda. Traditional appetisers will be served at one winery to accompany your wine tasting.
Once joyfully filled with wine and snacks it's time to head back to Korcula Town. And relax at ease, we will provide a transfer for you and your bike – so no need to worry about cycling back after a few drinks.

- Important note about the cycling. Bikes are mountain bikes. We recommend that you have a good level of fitness and experience of riding a bike. You will cycle around 10kms and this includes several hills. The route may include some unlevel surfaces and off road terrain. Keep in mind as well it gets very hot on Korcula, especially from late June until the end of August and you will be cycling in the sun. We would class the ride as moderate but the hills and heat can be more of a challenge for some people. Although the ride is leisurely, we just want to ensure you will be comfortable to complete the ride.

John is a great host, really knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Korcula and the wine specific to this region. We lucked out by sharing our tour with a group of three American friends who were travelling together and an American girl part way through her European trip, along with John hosting they were all great company. It really was a perfect way to spend an afternoon, drinking some lovely wine in two of the most friendly wineries I’ve visited and learning more about this beautiful country and its history. The bike tour was not too intense—though you should have some experience on a bike and there are some hills. And all of the stops were wonderful—this is a perfect way to learn more about Korcula’s agriculture and foodways, and to see some of its beautiful countryside. We especially enjoyed the time we spent on Ivan’s farm. The entire experience, which included a honey tasting on the outskirts of Korcula and wine tasting in Lumbarda, was wonderful. This was absolutely one of the best experiences we have had in Croatia—or anywhere, for that matter. John and Rachael are kind, engaging, and gracious hosts, and there is no better way to spend an afternoon. I would absolutely recommend any tour that Korcula Explorer offers!Written October 5, 2023

- brandyu20020 contributionsReally great excursion in Korcula!Rachel is great! The entire tour went off smoothly even though thunderstorms were forecasted by the end (and we made it just in time!). We started our bike tour in Korcula town and rode across the island into Lumbarda area. We rode on a bunch of surfaces, main roads, dirt roads and through vineyards and villages. The biking isn't strenuous and very enjoyable. The views are great and you're able to stop in the vineyards for pictures. We biked to 2 different wineries and tested some great Local Croatian wine and snacks- oh the fresh figs! The group was only 8 people and such a great way to meet others who have a same interest in biking and traveling, and drinking good wines. Rachel was very knowledgeable and so genuine. An amazing afternoon ride and wine tasting with John. His knowledge of the area and the wineries was sensational as was the scenery. Highly recommend taking this trip, great way to see a very special part of the island and to visit some local family run wineries.

John is a brilliant guide/host.
We were a mixed aged group of friends ( the oldest was 81} At every stage John was very clear you should stay within your comfort/safety zones. which meant we walked up a couple of hills and walked down a slope.
For most people this is a well thought out easy cycle ride. The wine tasting was superb . The host vineyards are lovely people. The views are lovely as is the wine and the food.. If you are looking for a fabulous afternoon ..book now...you will not be disappointed.

Our guide was excellent. Very knowledgeable of the area with many interesting stories.
The route was good and challenging in some spots due to terrain and the heat.
The Vitis Winery had some tasty wines and very friendly & knowledgeable owner hosting. Food was delicious and generous.
Ended with a stop at the beach, so remember to bring your swim suits & towels.
However, we thought we’d be going to more than one winery since it called a tour.
Our host made arrangements for a return trip via a van, for 30€ as we were exhausted from the heat.

Hello. I'm glad you had a good time on Korcula, however, this review is not for our company as we do not take people to the beach on our regular tours and our Bike & Wine Tour includes 2 winery stops and a return transfer is included in the price of the tour (as we don't cycle back to town after the wine tasting).

This was definitely a highlight of our 4 days in Korcula. John creates a really fun atmosphere and our group stayed over an hour past the end time because we were having so much together. The bike ride is lovely, a few hills but nothing crazy. It was pretty warm, so make sure to bring a big 1.5 litre water. The wine tasting and snacks were fabulous and the scenery is unreal. Thanks John!

We had a lovely afternoon with John cycling around the beautiful island of Korcula and finishing with wine tasting at two adjacent vineyards. After the seven mile bike ride, which was largely traffic free, we arrived at the first family run winery where spent an hour tasting a selection of wines and liqueurs. We then moved to the next winery and repeated the process but this time with a delicious platter of meats, cheeses, bread and olive oil, all of which was produced locally. We stayed there for a few more hours before getting a taxi back to Korcula town. We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon out with John who had an extensive knowledge of the island and the local wine industry. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour with the fabulous host John!

Enjoyable bike ride to the neighboring town of Lumbarda through vineyards and local bike routes. Group was small, about 10 people. Bikes were in great condition and adjusted to our height, the route was not too difficult (it had a few hills), it was scenic and fun. Visited 2 small wineries and tasted local appetizers. Returned via taxi back home, so we could all enjoy our wine 😀We took this tour on the first day in Korcula and then rented bikes on our own and repeated the route. The guide, John, was very engaging and pleasant to talk with. I reached out via WhatsApp app while making a booking request, and communication with Rachael was prompt. Highly recommend this tour!

This is an odd but informative review. We were signed up for a bike wine trip today- fully paid for in advance. The weather was threatening- but they could have insisted we go through with the trip. Honestly we really wanted to- but had zero interest in pedaling through the rain ( should it occur). They offered the option of taking a van to the wine tour- which didn't appeal to us. They gave us a full refund. Not optimal for them ( no pay) or for us ( not their fault but really wanted the activity) . I give them 5 stars for the way things were handled.

A properly memorable trip to visit some of the renowned wineries of this stunning island.
Spent 5 hours mostly drinking and getting to know a wonderful, like minded group of people, and seeing parts of the island off the beaten track.
John is a superb host, couldn’t have asked for more from an excursion; very well organised and super relaxed. Absolutely loved it and came away with 2 rucksacks of world class wines.
An absolute must if you have the time on your visit to Korcula

An interesting way to have fun. A small group of us lovers of fresh air and wine visited a couple of local wineries and their cellars. Tried and delighted. The problem is when you go by bike, you can't buy and take more than a couple of bottles of wine.
