Your first stop is Confucius Temple, located in the heart of Qufu, which forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage site, San Kong. Feast your eyes on the beautifully preserved 466 halls, pavilions, and chambers that comprise the temple, built in 479 BC shortly after the death of Confucius.
Then, you’ll enjoy a Chinese lunch before visiting the Kong Family Mansion, the aristocratic home formerly resided in my the relatives of Confucius. Tour each room to gain insight into the decorative style and daily routines of the Chinese upper classes.
Your tour culminates with a visit to the Cemetery of Confucius, the final resting place of the Confucius clan, following a relaxed 30-minute walk to Shandong. Headstones mark the burial places of more than 100,000 Confucius descendants and vary in style and stature.
