Kevins English is very good. He showed us al lot of different places. He told us a lot about China. About the historic villages we visited and about the culture. We saw shows. He is a good driver, we felt very safe. He helped us with restaurants and suggested local foods. We visited a really nice local foodmarket as well. He is also really good at taking pictures and he showed us a lot of beautiful places. At the end he drove us to the airport, that was really nice.

The booking for the YangShuo photography tour was confirmed at$280 and it was supposed to start at 5:30 am on Dec. 29. The tour guide, Kevin, sent me a message around 4-5 pm on the 28th. He requested me to pay extra 250 rmb, otherwise the tour would be cancelled. He said it was for transportation charge. I asked him to contact Viator to resolve the problem, because I was taking another tour. He said that he did not get any feedback from Viator, and I ended up paying extra 250 rbm. It was not fair for a traveller to pay extra charge, after everything was confirmed and I was told that I can not cancel it within 24 hours. The guide notified me to pay extra charge within 24 hours... I am wondering whether Viator can resolve this problem. Thanks, Sejin Chung

Kevin was our tour guide and showed a great deal of flexibility in our time with him. He was very knowledgeable and demonstrated enthusiasm throughout our time with him.

My husband Peter and I had a fabulous four and a half days of being ferried around by Kevin. He met us at Guilin train station in the afternoon and for the following 4 days he accompanied us to all the places we had pre-arranged with him to visit - Guilin, Longji rice terraces, Yangshou (bamboo rafting, scooter riding, Moon Hill, light show, Xiangong hill for the sunrise, tea plantation etc etc.) He was punctual, attentive to our wishes and completely at our disposal. We ate independent travellers but without Kevin we would never have seen and done as much as we did. He drove carefully and his car was comfortable. Communication by email prior to our trip was easy and during our stay we were able to contact each other by text or phone. We would highly recommend Kevin's services and we wish him well with his activity.

My boyfriend and I did a 1 day tour with Kevin starting at 5 am to see the sunrise at Laozhai Mountain. Unfortunately the weather was quite misty but the view was still epic. We explored some abandoned villages and the local market. These were places we would not have known about otherwise. At the end of the day we met two of the cormorant fishermen. This was the highlight of the tour. Because it was the down season, we were the only ones here to photograph them. We had a private photo taking session. They were amazing models for our photos! Overall Kevin was very knowledgeable and accommodating. The tour was a little pricey for us but it was worth it for the experience.

My wife and I had an excellent one day drive and tour two days ago with Kevin. He picked us up near the entry gate at the Yulong River Conservation Area, after we took the government shuttle from the (excellent) Mountain Nest Hotel. We drove the rural route for two hours to Huangyao Ancient Village, stopping for scenic views and at a village with peeled persimmons drying everywhere you looked. On the ride back, Kevin was very flexible to drive me on backroads looking for scenic views of mist on the mountains. We weren’t too interested in the typical tourist sites, so he took us to his family’s orange orchard and home village. He even insisted on giving us a bag of freshly harvested, very delicious oranges. When I brought up our horrible and embarrassing President Trump, he responded with in depth knowledge of China’s foreign policy of recent decades. I highly recommend Kevin for one day or multi day tours. I especially appreciated his enthusiastic willingness to accommodate my quirky requests.

Kevin put together a great four day tour. His English is excellent and he has great local knowledge of the area. He is very flexible, has a range of suggestions which he will adapt to your interests. Highly recommended.

Kevin was recommended by Jason with Baike Hotel in Ping’an Longji Ricefields area north of Guilin. Both Kevin and Jason spoke English very well and were easy to understand - A real plus if your Chinese isn’t very good! Kevin was punctual and picked us up exactly on time, drove carefully and seemed very interested to know what we would like to see and how we would like to spend our time. He took us through a local market, on two river trips, hiking up Moonhill and he also arranged tickets to the night show In Yangshuo, which we highly recommended. He took us through pretty areas of the country and delivered us exactly on schedule to the Guilin train station to catch a high-speed train. Both he and Jason thought the Yangshuo River Lodge would work well for us and it did! Easter, the English-speaking concierge at the hotel was also excellent. We highly recommend Kevin. He was great, his car was comfortable and he was accommodating in every way. One of the best we've ever come across. He's caring and see to all our needs. Knowledgeable, trustworthy and speak excellent English too. We spent 4 days with him. From Guilin airport to Longji Rice Terrance, Sanjiang, Yangshuo and transfer back to Guilin. He even make arrangement for his brother-in-law to pick us from Guilin Hotel to Airport on our departure. He's great at photography and took excellent photos for us too. ;-) He even pick us up at 430AM to Xianggong Hill to witness the marvellous sunrise. Waited almost 2 hours for our bamboo raft ride, before picking us up at then other end of the ride to continue our journey. He also recommend us good local meals. Thanks to Kevin that we are able to visit so many places within few days. He'll see to all our entrance tickets, so we do not need to worry about queue. Highly recommended to engage him should anyone wish to visit Guilin, Yangshuo or nearby vicinity.

Kevin is really one of the best private guides we’ve ever engaged because he’s so knowledgeable about all the best sights of Yangshuo, including the best photo spots! Travelling with a young child is never easy but Kevin was always patient whenever we were running late or walking at a crawling speed or deciding to change our plans at the last instance. He was able to put our wish list together and plan the two days we had in yangshuo around them and getting us everywhere in the most efficient manner - we saw everything we wanted to and more including an off-the-beaten track abandoned stone village and a lovely little secret cafe. For me personally the highlight was the visit to the cormorant fisherman bec Kevin arranged for us to see the very best against the most fabulous backdrop of the Li River, much to the envy of everyone around us. And another absolute plus - Kevin is an excellent photographer and he will help you take the best photos!!! My hubby is absolutely delighted today because he was keen to buy a painting by a local artist and Kevin brought us to a lovely shop with works by a artisan family with over 500 years of history in Yangshuo. You won’t go wrong with Kevin!

We spent 5 days on a recent trip to Guilin/Yangshou area & Kevin collected us from our hotel, took us to various local sites, arranged everything we wanted to do & made it all very convenient. He speaks fluent English, is honest, kind & helpful & has a good network of local people/restaurants etc that he knows so it’s easy to get away from hordes of tourists & see some lesser known spots. He returned us to the airport at the end fitting in with everything we wanted to do. Awesome service! Very much appreciated! Best guide/driver in the area.

My husband and I booked a private tour through Guilin and Yangshuo because I wanted focus our trip on photography, traveling off the beaten path, and outdoor activities like hiking. Kevin provided a perfect tour experience. We were picked up directly from the airport and taken care of the whole time. Kevin helped us for our itinerary based on our interests, while also providing expert recommendations and local knowledge and secret spots that we wouldn't have known about otherwise. We kept up a comfortable pace, and varied between sunrise hikes and lazy afternoons driving through the countryside or stopping for a long lunch. Kevin was also knowledgeable and great to talk to about sights we passed or China's cultures and communities. He was genuinely caring and extremely flexible. Could not recommend more highly!

Kevin is a very enthusiastic, knowledgeable and easy going photography guide. My boyfriend and I did a one day tour with him and he packed the day with the best locations Guilin and Yangshao have to offer. He is a safe and experienced driver and shared interesting facts about the places we passed through. He has a very good eye for landscape photography and also helped take some lovely candid portraits of us! Highly recommended.

Had the pleasure of being guided around Guilin and Yangshuo for 4 days by Kevin. He is a Yangshuo local and enjoys showing visitors around his home town. Kevin speaks great English, drives a clean, modern car and was always punctual - we kept in touch by WeChat in case any schedule changes. This trip was bad timing for me as I wasn't in the best of health - Kevin was very patient, arranged easier activities that still allowed me to see wonderful sights without getting too tired. Kevin loves driving, I would definitely book him again for a road trip.
