It was a rainy day when we arrived in Huangshan in the early morning, we thought we could only stay in the hotel. Our guide, Thomas, suggested that we visit both ancient villages Hongcun and Xidi on the first day and go hiking to Huangshan summit on the other day. Thomas told us the history of both ancient villages, the stories about the houses, and the historical figures. We learnt a lot and am too excited to share all the amazing stories with our friends. We were lucky. The weather was fine when we hiked to the Huangshan summit. Thomas knows the mountain very well and knows all the good spots. He explained to us why the mountain looks so beautiful with some foggy. Thomas is a kind, understanding, and friendly person. He lent us the hiking sticks when he knew we didn't have it. He also took us to visit Tunxi old street before dropping us to the train station on our last day in Huangshan. His English is perfect, we had a great time. Our friends already asked for his contact information and are planning to go to Huangshan for their next trip. We highly recommend him.

Thomas is really amazing. He picked me up at the railway station and managed all i needed to do this tour in the yellow mountains. Thomas knows these mountains very well and knows the good spots and places. His English is perfect. I had lots of good conversations about our countries, nature and life. I really recommend him!!

we did a 2 days private tour which includes a 7-seated private car that drove us everywhere we want to go! we visited both unesco villages, but only hiked for the sunset and sunrise because unfortunately we were not fit enough to hike to the other peaks. we end up not seeing any sunset or sunrise though because it was very foggy :( BUT the peaks itself were actually magnificent to look at (check my pictures). the tour guide spoke english perfectly and he was actually super understanding, flexible and friendly. he let us sleep in when we were really tired and let us change the schedule however we want during the tour. also, if you guys have no idea what to do or where to eat, just ask him everything. he helped our itinerary a lot. overall, it was a really enjoyable yet tiring trip. i would definitely recommend this to everyone that have not hiked mount huangshan but are interested to. so so thankful to the tour guide and also the driver!!!

We did a one day Hiking tour to the Yellow Mountains and a one day cultural walk to Hongcun Ancient Village with Guide Thomas. Thomas also picked us up and to took us back to the train station. The hiking day was just perfect and every thing went really smoothly as there were almost no queues this weekday. We did a very good size tour, 5 hours, getting up at the east of the mountain and down at the west, perfect for us. Hongcun was very interesting and Thoms shared many stories and took us to a local farmers restaurant. Food was delicious. You can ask for less oil on the traditional egg dish and it will be just perfect. Thomas has been timely, friendly and knowledgeable thru the whole trip. He loves to share stories and will do so. more than happily. We are happy to recommend his service.

We're a group of 6 that had a great time. Thomas was patient and took great care of us. He provided us with raincoats and spike shoes in the event we needed that. Thomas can easily converse in English over Wechat where we got most of our pre trip admin sorted out. We stayed at Xihai Hotel and it was splendid. Do not pack more than what is essential, you need to hike with whatever you bring up with you.

Once my event at Hangzhou was confirmed I contacted Thomas thru his Wechat published Hongcun and Xidi Heritage Villages. Thomas had kindly arranged pick up from the Railway Station the evening before the tour supposed to start. On the agreed day, Thomas punctually met us at the hotel's lobby, git acquainted and proceeded taking us to the entrance base to the Huanshang Mountains. We took a coach to the east cable car line station. The cabke car ride was fir about 10 minutes and upon reaching the final station, the journey continued on foot for 10 km to reach the peak and down to the other cable car of the west line to descent. Reached the peak we did and what we did today was probably the most steps I have made in a day in my entire life. But reaching the top was worth the effort as we got to see awesome views of the mountains and the surroundings. Thanks Thomas for challenging us to hike upto the peak. The second day's visit to Hongcun and Xidi Heritage Villages was equally fascinating. Both listed under Unesco's Heritage sites, the villages were surely not to be missed when visiting this part of China. Overall, my visit to Huangshan could not be as smooth without having Thomas to guide us around. Thank you Thomas for all your professional services.

We took the 3 day tour of Huangshan and the Unesco Villages in the nearby area in mid July with Thomas as our tour guide. Thomas was very reliable, friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Huangshan is so beautiful! We stayed in YuPing hotel which is located in the midway of the mountain and right next to the Greeting Pine Tree. We were lucky to see the sunrise from an area about 10 minutes walking distance from the hotel. After breakfast buffet in the hotel, we started hiking around 7am which gave us about 40 minutes ahead of the tourists coming from bottom of the mountain through cable car. For a good while in the morning, we were able to enjoy marvelous sceneries and took great photos without having crowds of tourists around us! Thank you Thomas!

Thomas is really helpful and friendly. He speaks good english and a funny person too! He is really doing his best to assist me and my family to get into the top of the mountain and other attractions. Our group of 5 persons booked a private tour guide and transportation service with Thomas Gao for 5 days. Everyone had a very memorable experience. The natural scenery of Huangshan was so breadth taking (and of course the 10 km walk would further take your breadth away). The visit to the ancient villages of Hongcun, Xidi, Chengkan, Tangmo, and Tangyue Archway offered so much history and culture... by adding so much perspective to our family roots. The local Anhui dishes were also unforgettable. Thomas’ experience and service attitude had been a contributing factor in making all this possible. He knows the places with good view, paths that would be too physically demanding for certain older members of our group, and where to enjoy some authentic local dishes. Thomas was very punctual, and he really took good care of our group, starting from the moment of airport pick up until sending us off to the airport on the last day. The provided vehicle was new and comfortable. Overall, we had a very enjoyable and meaningful trip. Would highly recommend Thomas’s guide services.

As Thomas is not available for my travelling dates, he recommended us a tour guide. Thomas has communicated with us since I enquired him about Huangshan private tour. From high speed ttain booking, hotels recommendation, itinerary. Victor is the tour guide for our trip. He picked us at the high speed train station, brought us to nice and recommended 'Hui' cuisine. He explained and told us to look out the mountain formation. Very informative. Our trip also included Xidi Village and Hong cun. Victor enlightened the places of interest. He is very flexible. Highhly recommended to take private tour with them because they take care of us only. Just 2 of us and you dont need to wait for big group that wasted a lot of time

We spent 4 days in the Huangshan and Yellow Mountain area with Thomas Gao as our guide. We are are a recently retired couple and were accompanied by our son, aged in his 20’s, and two of his friends. Thomas was extremely helpful from the time he met us at the railway station until the end of our time with him. He assisted with our check in and arranged early breakfasts at the small hotel we stayed in, where very little English was spoken. Our first day was a One Day trip to Jihuashan - to the Heaven Temple and Jihua temple street - which was wonderful! Quite a few steps to climb but manageable for anybody of moderate fitness. Of course, the highlight of our time with Thomas was spending two days in the Yellow Mountains where Thomas ensured we got to see the best views and experienced a stunning sunset and sunrise the next morning. An experience not to be missed! Our time with Thomas was very well organised and his driver was extremely good and careful. Thomas related well to the younger members of our group who also had a great time. Our trip to Huangshan was undoubtedly the highlight of all our time in China!

Our group of 9 friends booked a 3-day tour of Huangshan and the Unesco villages of Hongcun and Xidi and the ancient town of Tunxi with Thomas. Thomas is very helpful and prompt in answering our enquries through wechat. He recommended good hotels to stay and brought us to local restaurants that served authentic and delicious Anhui cuisine. Hongcun was a quaint and picturesque village. Thomas is an experienced guide and he guided us to various scenic spots in Huangshan. Although physically demanding as we had to hike about 10km each day through thousands of steps, we were rewarded with breathtaking and awesome views of Huangshan, reminiscient of a chinese ink painting. Being able to see the sea of clouds at the mountain summit and experience the tranquility of sunrise over the mountains, one is blissfully reminded of the beauty of creation and nature. Overall, a wonderful experience of Huangshan.

We contacted Thomas for a three-day tour, one day devoted entirely to Xidi and Hongcun, and two days devoted to Huangshan with visit to Chengkan/Tangmo on the return to Tunxi. Thomas was busy for the first day so he hired a colleague to substitute for him. All three days were wonderful. The places were awesome, of course, but both guides were knowledgeable, flexible and a lot of fun. They did everything to ensure we did everything on our programme and no extra effort was too much for them. Great value and would recommend without hesitation.

Recently, I booked a private tour with Thomas Gao to Huangshan with my siblings. We ascended the Yellow mountain via the West and descended via the East. We thouroughly enjoyed our hike up and down on those countless steps! The weather was awesome and we had a fantastic picturesque view. However, the weather upon descent was foggy. Nevertheless, the view was still lovely. Our guide Thomas Gao is very reliable and trustworthy. We could adjust and amend our itinerary according to our convenience. Thomas also came with a driver to pick us from the train station and also sent us off after our tour to the UNESCO anceint towns of Hingcun & Xidi. I have no doubts recommending him. And best if all, he speaks English 😃!
