About
On this visit, we'll enjoy a bath to replenish our energy in the Puritama Hot Springs, located 30 kilometers from San Pedro de Atacama. Its waters are born in the Andes Mountains and reach high temperatures because of the proximity to volcanic materials. Afterwards, we go to the surface on the Puritama River, creating eight natural pools, surrounded by hills and native vegetation. The place has changing rooms, bathrooms and terraces in each of the pools. The average temperature of the thermal waters is 33 °C.

- genninez20160 contributionsEpic experience! What a memorable day. Our guide Christopher was nothing short of amazing, he was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic and incredibly helpful with everything. I’ve never seen someone work so hard to make sure everyone had a good time and that we learned a lot about the desert. The sites on the on this tour were all different and amazing. Highly recommend!Written November 28, 2022
- M3708NKcassandram0 contributionsA day out of ordinaryEven if the tour started 2 hours later, the guide was generous of his time and was patient with the group and gave us all time needed for pictures. He barely spoke English but it was amazing how he tried hard to please the whole group.Written November 13, 2022
- MandMorl0 contributionsA must do in San Pedro de AtacamaVery good itenerary. Caroline our guide did an outstanding job. Many thanks to her. I give a 4* because the fees to the Highlands was not known to me (19000 pesos). I suggest to be added to the exclusions. Breakfast and lunch nicely presented and exceeded my expectations.Written October 2, 2022
- kwillemez0 contributionsA must do !We are motorbike riders and hesitated a lot before taking a tour that we thought we may have done by ourselves but we don´t regret it at all ! It had been an amazing and diverse tour made very interesting thanks to the deep knowledge of Alan our guide. The breakfast was delicious too.Written December 17, 2021

In the middle of the driest part of the world, you find yourself in an oasis of credible relaxing Hot Springs.
They were not too hot, they were perfect.
This is an absolute must
We had our own car so it made things easy. And a lot cheaper than if we had gone with a group. I highly recommend going by yourself if you have a car. It’s only about $35 a person and spend several hours there.
We went in the afternoon and it wasn’t too crowded. They only let about 50 people in at a time.

This is a really lovely, tranquil place. The thermal waters cascade through a series of pools surrounded with natural foliage. It's a delight to soak in the warm (not too hot) water watching little birds flit among the reeds or gazing up at the surrounding canyon walls and blue sky.
The facilities are pristine and very well maintained and people are respectful of the space and others who are there. It is well managed by unobtrusive staff.
The booking system means that numbers are restricted so it doesn't feel crowded. However, this does mean that you need to book in advance (we only booked the day before).
Take your own small padlock for a locker if you want to leave things in the changing rooms, but you can easily just leave your things on the edge of one of the pools.
There is a bit of a hike down from, and back up to the carpark, since the pools are in the bottom of a canyon

Absolutely beautiful! This is one of the last things we did on our trip. I really recommend it to be the last thing because it’s so relaxing. The water is incredibly clear and warm. We rented a vehicle for our stay in San Pedro de Adama so we did not do a tour on this one. We booked directly on the website. It’s very easy to do. It’s easy to find. I don’t know that I would book a tour unless you don’t have a way to get there.
The owners keep the property well maintained. We booked a morning session from nine to one. They do keep track. Right before 1 o’clock they get everyone out of the Hot Springs because they have another group waiting.
There are clean bathrooms, and clean places to change your clothes. There is a pavilion to sit in the shade if needed.
This is a perfect way to end a trip!!

The place itself was beautiful, but I would definitely not recommend this company for a tour. The duration was listed for 5.5 hours, but the total trip was only 4--with a half hour delay returning included. This meant we only had less than an hour and a half actually at the hot springs, which wasn't enough time to even see all the pools or relax at all. This time included changing time (with very few rooms for all the people, so there was a line) and the hike down and back. This meant less than 10 minutes per pool and you had to walk far distances between them.
We also selected an English guide and our guide was unable to communicate in English, so we missed almost all of the information about the hot springs, the volcanic activity, and Indigenous culture (we only understood a little thanks to our knowledge of some Spanish). She was nice and this was likely not her fault, but the tour company shouldn't advertise a bilingual guide if they can't actually provide one.
Lastly, there was no communication about a very steep hike going down and up to the springs. This trip was listed as accessible and I have a mild knee injury and use a cane, and the hike aggravated the injury.
Overall, for spending half our tour budget on this one trip, we were very disappointed at a rushed, exhausting, and unguided experience.

The place is beautiful, in a spectacular location, at the foot of the Jorquencal ravine over the Puritama River. The facilities are very nice, but basic.
It is reached via route B-245, which is in poor condition, but accessible with any type of vehicle.
The entrance is expensive (if you go as a tourist not staying at the Explora de Atacama), approximately USD30 per person.
To keep in mind: you have to walk about 500/600 meters downhill, which when returning can become a challenge due to the height and slope.
In the changing rooms, they offer lockers without locks (if you didn't bring one, the only alternative is to carry your things at all times), and they do not offer rental of towels/towels/robes nor do they sell shampoo, soap, etc.
The bar/confectionery opens late and also, if someone reserves one of the 8 pools, you cannot access it, even if you have paid full price.
In short, what is really beautiful is the naturalness of the place and the facilities in general: the walkways and access to each pool.
But the service is bad and the staff VERY BADLY predisposed.
It was worth knowing it, but I wouldn't repeat it.

I did all the tours of Santiago and Atacama with Traveling With Me, including the Uyuni salar expedition to Bolivia, and the experience was amazing in all destinations!!!! I highly recommend the agency! Willian is always available on whatsapp to meet us or answer our doubts, it is mt request! The tours were wonderful, beautiful places and all the guides who accompanied us were very good! I highly recommend! ❤️❤️❤️

We closed the Vacation Package of 6 days of tours with Willian, from Traveling With Me. Everything was great, all the tours were performed at the scheduled times, exactly as described in the closed Vacation Package! Excellent Trips agent, attentive and always available to ask questions and adjust routes if necessary! I indicate this agency for sure! It was a great choice! The local guides with which VIAJANDO COMIGO has partnered, are all great!

Best tour of the Atacama. Very relaxing. I was on my first day in Atacama. If I knew it was so good, I'd have Pro scheduled more than once for the last day to close the trip with the Thermas. Quiet walk, mild temperature, we leave the hotel at 08:30/09:00. Therms open at 9:30. We stayed there until 11:45. We made our tour with the agency Feel Atacama. I suggest going in the morning shift. They claim that in the afternoon shift it is cold at the end of the tour and selling a lot.

Guys, it was worth closing the tours with Will! Got it all right! My 10-day trip was seamless in Atacama and Bolivia. You can close with him peacefully!

When we went, we were able to see pools 2 to 8... Pool 1 was closed, but it didn't interfere at all. Crystal clear, warm water. There is a bathroom and a place to change. A tour that is worth it.
