On this tour we will drive to Laguna Cejar, a lagoon in the middle of the desert, that due to the high concentration of salt you can swimm and don't sink. You will be able to spend a very nice day and enjoy the landscaping that the desert has to offer. The landscape is one of the most attractive of the Atacama desert, where the blue of the sky, the white of the salt, the celestial of the water and the pink of the flamingos that come to feed. It is better to always walk with shoes because the salts have sharp points that can cut the feetPass byChile Conectado 123 Andes
About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- GLORIA A0 contributionsFantastic!!!This is a place you must visit, because the landscapes are taken from another planet, this is something you cannot miss, the guided tours are the best, our guide was very friendly and speaks fluent English.Written December 27, 2022
- Nomad_JB0 contributionsBest service and so helpfulFantastic service, ask for Alex, he is just great and so friendly. We travelled as a family of eight which included three kids, 2 thirteen year olds and an eleven year ins. The service was excellent and the kids loved Alex.Written July 16, 2022
- Hilary W0 contributionsEl Tatio Morning TourI loved this tour! I thought it was awesome to leave early in the dark and see the geisers at dawn (and also Venus at dawn, which the astronomer told us about the previous night), then be able to drive back in the daylight through the fascinating desert ecosystems! Desayuno de Alex está muy rico! Yo amo los flamencos🦩Written May 28, 2022
- michalakigalexandra0 contributionsAmazing tour!We loved everything minute of this tour! Our guide was amazing - we followed the itinerary and we had time to explore and photograph all the places we stopped. Our guide provided all the background information and answered any questions we had, including information on animals, plants and local communities. Breakfast and lunch were also very tasteful. Highly recommended!Written March 11, 2020
- 966jerrym0 contributionsAvoid this agency if you are searching for English tourWorst tour I ever joined around the world. The agency did not provide English tour at all. We were asked to arrive at the agency at 15:30 and wait for 50 minutes until someone else picked us up somewhere else. It would have been fine if the tour is in English. Nonetheless, the tour guide is actually bilingual during which 70% of his time was spent in Spanish and we get less information in English than the others in Spanish. Besides, the guide is kind of rude and he even blamed on clients which did not really violate the rules (to protect his own job). BTW, We are lucky that we have to change our schedule due to inclement weather such that we won’t attend the Iris valley with this agency again. They got our dollars yesterday but refuse to refund the money in dollars. Well... cannot believe they exchange the money immediately. Overall, it cheats in many ways.Written December 28, 2019
- Daisy02190 contributionsTerrible, if you are looking for English guided tour...If you are searching for an English guide tour, this agency is not the one.... We waited for one hour and we were led to join the other group, which is majored guided by Spanish. I don’t mind bilingual, but it should be mentioned when we booked the tour. One of worst experiences we had in our journey in South America.Written December 28, 2019
- MSTRPW0 contributionsStunning views!I went on this tour as a solo traveller and had a blast. Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate. The sunset views are stunning and a must of you are visiting San Pedro de AtacamaWritten October 21, 2019
- graphicatharsis0 contributionsIncredible and comprehensive experience of AtacamaIt’s usually a challenge to gauge tours like this based on trip advisor reviews as some people complain about the most meaningless and petty things. However, we took a punt on this one and weren’t disappointed. There is a bit of a price difference between this one and many others and for good reason. In San Pedro, there are dozens of tour sellers on each street. I would highly recommend doing some thorough research first and most probably book online. Our guide, Victor, has obviously done this 100s of times and was quick to get to the point. My wife and I were the only English speakers on a bus full of Brazilians and he made sure to give us a comprehensive explanation of everything in English as he had in Portuguese. Victor is obviously extremely proud of his country and of Atacama and it showed in the depth of information he had. He would stop on the side of the road suddenly to show us some of the native wildlife and let us take pictures. We got to see flamingos dancing, volcanoes, crystal alpine lagoons, epic salt flats, incredible vistas and experience local villages. Breakfast and lunch included were fantastic and fresh and healthy. There are so many providers for these types of tours but we felt a little more special amongst 100s of other tourists. You have to just grin and bear it some times with the amount of people but that is to be expected. Our tour group was small and considerate and I would 10/10 recommend this tour to anyone.Written September 8, 2019
- AntonioIannu0 contributionsAwesome tourThis tour was awesome, I've seen spectacular places and learn new stuff thanks to our guide that explained everything in a fun and entertaining way. The view of the sunset at the end of the tour was breathtaking. I highly recommend this tour.Written August 19, 2019
- Sunwapta20 contributionsAmazing scenery and fantastic guideWe did 2 tours with this company, El Tatio Geysers and Valley of the Moon, both with the same guide. We were picked up from our accommodation on time and although we were the only English speaking guests in the group, our guide made sure he explained everything in English to us, so we never felt left out at all. I had a few minor symptoms of altitude sickness during the geysers tour and he was very patient and understanding. An excellent guide. Unfortunately can't remember his name, but he had a good taste in music as well. Both tours were well organised. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again if in the area.Written April 30, 2019
- pedrocarvalho5180 contributionsThey will pass you to other agenciesWhen I was planning my trip to Atacama, I found that most problems would happen when the agency you hired would pass you to other agencies. When we hired 123 Andes, we asked explicitily if this could happen. Elias guarantted us that all of our tours would be directed by 123 Andes. The first tour, "Lagunas Escondidas", went great. Gabriel, the guide, was great. We also did "Rotas dos Salares", with the guide Marcel, that also went really well. The best guide was Victor. We did "Valle de la luna", "Lagunas Altiplanicas" and "Geysers del Tatio" with him. The problem was in the "Laguna Cejar" tour. We waited almost 1 hour for the van to pick us up. As we got on the van, It was really crowded and didn't even have a guide! We shared the van with people from a lot of other agencies, who had agreed with a crowded van and no guide, because they'd paid less than half of the amout we had. This agency will promisse you everything to make the sell, but will not see it through. For the price they charge, I would expect a better job. Would not recommend.Written April 23, 2019
- NOMAD0700 contributionsSalar de Tara tour was awesomeThe guide on our salar de tara tour was fantastic. The sites were beautiful .The food provided wasnt good when compared to the other companies . It was a great day out.Written November 28, 2018
- Explorer1458060 contributionsMarcel - The tour guideThe best way to understand and get in touch with the culture of a country is to have a great tour guide which is going to teach you the history of the places and how people lived in the area. When visiting Atacama, specifically Geysers del Tatio, Ojos del Salar and Laguna Cejar, me and my friends had the opportunity to meet our tour guide called Marcel. This guy is very smart, humble and wise! He knows a lot about the traditions, culture, people and the region. Plus, he loves to share all of his knowledge with the people!Written September 15, 2018
- Lara G0 contributionsVery helpfulMy friends and I went to several agencies in Caracoles before heading to 123 Andes. It wasn't the cheapest one, but we were able to negotiate a bit and Rafael was extremely helpful throughout our whole trip. We had the guide Ricardo in the first day and liked him so much that we requested him every day. He made the experience a lot richer than just looking, as he explained everything around us. The only thing I do not recommend to do with 123 Andes is the Astronomical Tour, since we didn't have an experience as good as other people who did it with other agencies. Anyway, I really recommend the agency, we did everything with them and had an amazing experience in Atacama!Written February 8, 2018
- MarcelloNitz0 contributionsGood serviceWe checked prices and testemonials of 5 agencies and decided to hire 123 Andes. It is not the cheapest but you can negotiate. A good agency is specially important for the longest tours...Geisers, Piedras Rojas/ Lagunas Altiplanicas and Salar de Tara. That is when you might feel some difference: knowledge of the guides, quality of the van, skills of the driver and quality of breakfast. They were late just once, but were able to compensate. Rafael sold us the package and always gave us full attention.Written February 4, 2018

Like the Blue Lagoon near Reykjavik, the Laguna Cejar is one of those experiences you can’t miss. High salt level, very warm but with a soft mellow feel. Very relaxing. Dropped one point because getting out was a bit tricky and sharp on the feet and hands, more so when losing grip and falling back onto fagged surfaces. No lasting injuries but either we could have been warned or advised to wear precautionary footwear or they could have build or contrived a simple easier route out. But don’t be put off, it’s not enough to miss swimming here.

Bom dia! Crianças podem fazer esse passeio? Um tem 3 e outro 6 anos. Agradeço!
Written December 8, 2018
Acredito que sim. Vi algumas crianças no passeio. A preocupação é como vão reagir ao frio e a altitude.
