- Imini C0 contributionsThe perfect way to experience the main points of Battambang! This was such a fantastic tour! Whilst being taken around both the town of Battambang and the surrounding countryside, Bun had lots of little bits in information regarding both the history of Cambodia and nature. The drives were smooth, water was continuously available, and every stop was interesting. I thoroughly recommend booking this trip, Bun is a wonderful tour guide for your trip to Battambang. Thank you very much!Written January 5, 2025

Every destination was super great but our favourite was the bamboo train. We had lots of unexpected extra stops where he told us about the cambodian countryside and buddhist religion! Was super interesting and totally worth it. Book the tour!!Written October 6, 2024
- 603daym0 contributionsBun is so great at his job, I came back with my family.I did his street food tour in 2019. The next day, I had booked a different driver. I regretted the decision. Bun was much more informative and had much better english. This trip with my partner and 8yo son, I made sure I booked him again. He was even better. He was great with my son and showed him things kids do here - popping seeds. Showed him plants that close whe you touch them. My son loved the tour. We did a buddist temple and he told us about the local buddism cultural practices, went through a local village by tuktuk and he explained all sorts of interesting cultural practices, the suspension bridge, bamboo train and the killing/bat caves. Just wish I had booked the food tour earlier, as he was already booked on our last day... He charges a fair price and is great at his job. Give him a try!Written September 26, 2024
- huiting160 contributionsHelpful sellerHad some miscommunication & misunderstanding earlier about the pick-up & drop-off location and had to cancel the trip last minute. However, the guide went the extra mile to help me get a refund, which I really appreciated. Thank you!Written September 18, 2024

We absolutely loved this tour with Bun! He collected us in his tuk tuk and took us to loads of random and interesting places, almost every 5 minutes stopping to see something new! We walked around markets, temples, little stands to try different foods, a blacksmiths workshop, and explained lots of things as we went along (lots of things we'd been wondering about since being in Cambodia!) He drops you off wherever you fancy for lunch and then collects you half an hour later. In the afternoon we went on the bamboo train which was novel and the caves were interesting to see. Very strongly recommend booking this tour with Bun, you'll get SO much more out of your visit to Battambang and its crazy good value for money. *also I'd recommend doing the full day tour as we found the morning so much fun learning about local cultures and way of life whereas the afternoon is more of a visit to the touristy places*

Bun is fantastic: he is very nice and patient, speaks great English, and is willing to discuss a variety of topics candidly. Beyond showing and explaining the main sites well, he did the little things that elevate an experience - bringing cold water, navigating the bumpy roads as well as possible, offering to let me eat something exotic (rat), making recommendations, and, most importantly, treating me well. Don't hesitate - book a tour with Bun.
FYI: If you are a solo traveler, and no one else shows up, the bamboo train will cost a separate $8, not $5, plus whatever you decide to give the girl offering two bands for $1. And be prepared for a fun bit of labor if there is another train - the bamboo train is a bit heavy!

We were picked up promptly by the absolutely fantastic Tha, he started by explaining in detail what were were going to be getting up to today before setting off to explore Battambang.
We began with a trip to a famous blacksmith who made tools for the locals, then over to his neighbour who has been making bamboo sticky rice for generations. Tha then took us to a Buddhist temple where he sat us down and gave us an in depth history of the Khmer Rouge seizing power in the 70s, how this affected him and his family and what it means for the country today. The history is harrowing but Tha navigated the difficult subject brilliantly and we left with a much greater understanding of the dark recent history of this fascinating country.
After a wonder round the temple and torture museum we went to visit some more locals, a woman who makes excellent french cakes (unreal), a family that have been making dried bananas for generations and who also use these for their anti-aging properties and finally a stop over at a fresh spring roll stand where the family make their own rice paper and the best summer and spring rolls you’ll ever have.
We had a quick 40 min break for lunch then we were picked back up for the afternoon tour, this began at the Buddhist university before driving out in to the countryside to jump on the bamboo train. Tha made sure to point out local landmarks and stopped to explain what we were driving past at every opportunity!
The bamboo train is a fantastic way to take a gander at the local landscape, take another wild mode of transport and meet some other travellers!
We were then taken to a cool wee suspension bridge and another temple grounds with a crazy mix of stupas and statues before a short hop out of town to explore the killing cave and the temples that have been built around here.
To round off the day we sat and watched the sunset in front of the Bat Cave where you watch what has to be millions of Bats heading out in to the evening, an absolutely incredible way to finish an amazing day!
The sights themselves were brilliant to see but the tour was absolutely made by our tour guide - Tha! He was fantastic and I’d thoroughly recommend not only the tour but doing one with him if you can!

Honestly a let down, it was very basic information the guide gave me, which when asked further he couldn’t tell more. This felt like a let down, when it says a guided tour. The guide would also just drop you off and tell you two lines, and tell you when to be back. I saw multiple other tours which had the guide going with them.
The bamboo train was okay but not with the 5$, especially as you reach the “town” it really is just them trying to sell you everything, which wasn’t very comfortable. They also used their children to try ands make you buy bracelets, which left a bad taste in my mouth.
I wouldn’t recommend this tour.

Bun is a fabulous tour guide, probably one or the best guides I have encountered on my travels. He is friendly, has a good sense of humor and has an extensive knowledge of the sites he takes you to.
Recently I went on his full day tour of Battambang and the surrounding districts. We covered a large area and explored so many sites. The highlight for me was watching thousands of bats leaving a massive cave to seek food at dusk.
I highly recommend going on this day tour with Bun when you holiday in Battambang.
Thank you Bun for a great days tour.

Our tour guide Bun was very knowledgeable about the area. He offered us an excellent tour. We did not expect so many stops (with food samples or information about e.g. lemongrass or weddings in Cambodia). Everything was perfectly planned out but he offered us stops if we wanted to take photos. We can only recommend this tour if you want to see the countryside in the morning and the tourist attractions in the afternoon.

Bun's fullday tuk tuk tour of Battambang and of villages and sights in the surrounding countryside has been the highlight of my sightseeing so far in Cambodia and I have been here 2 weeks now and covered quite a lot of territory. The beauty of Bun's tour is that it is a well thought out tour covering a wide variety of aspects of life in Battambang and district and of the area's recent history and it effectively gives the traveller a 'one-stop' tour where you see almost all you need to see when you don't have multiple days available to sight-see in Battambang. In addition, you get this tour hosted and driven by a friendly and affable young man who possesses a lot of knowledge about the people and history of the city and district, a young man who loves what he is doing and loves chatting with his guests and a young man who drives his tuk tuk very carefully ever aware of his guests' safety. I cannot recommend Bun's fullday tuk tuk tour of Battambang and district highly enough!!!!!!!

Bun was an amazing guide. He was very friendly, speaks great English, and was very sincere about sharing the Khmer culture with us. He was also very adaptable and was able to customise the tour to accommodate our schedule. We were amazed at how much we were able to see despite the short time we had! Would definitely recommend Bun to anyone looking to tour Battambang.

What can we say. The day with our guide Tha was just phenomenal. It offered everything you want to experience during 10 hours - joy, fun, historic information, cultural insights… can highly highly recommend the tour to everyone!
Our original driver could not make it due to an accident, however he arranged everything short-notice to have Tha as alternative driver. Spoke Good English, and is a great person. Thank you!

We loved our full day tour! Rith was such a lovely tour guide, who gave us a lot of space to explore things on our own but also told us a lot when we asked questions and showed interest! You get to see a lot of different things which made the day go by extremely fast. There is a lunch break in the middle where you get dropped off at your hotel to rest and eat for an hour. We recommend getting a peppermint oil or something like that for the fish paste factory, as it helped us a lot to walk through the entire place without smelling the extremely strong fish smell. riding the bamboo train was a lot of fun and trying the sticky rice cakes cooked in bamboo was an amazing snack we later got for ourselves again when watching the millions of bats leave the cave near the killing caves. We would 100% recommend this tour to see many interesting things around Battambang!
