The most efficient way to get to know a place is to explore it on foot, to walk. But Floripa is a very large island and that is not very viable. Therefore, just like in big cities, we take a bus that tours the most interesting places.
The time of year when we visited Floripa (to spend the Reveillón there) is not the best to move around the island by car or even by public transport due to terrible "os engarrafamentos".
We had located in Canasviriras with the intention of resting and taking advantage of the beach. However, an overview of the island was necessary.
The hotel pick-up service was perfect, on time and opportune.
The planned places to visit (center, Hercilio Da Luz bridge, lake, etc.) were well chosen, except the entrance to Praia Joaquina. It has a unique access and the number of people at this time makes it very difficult to get there. A lot of time is wasted and being on that beach with thousands of people crowded together does nothing good, it gives no pleasure. That alone would have been eliminated from the tour, given the circumstances. The rest was very good.
The guide in charge was very professional and was always attentive to the passengers' questions, giving very accurate explanations.

We went to the less crowded places, and it was very nice. We enjoyed very good weather, beautiful beaches and water temperatures to enjoy.

We had an English speaking guide for our tour and she was wonderful. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and provided many tips about the area for even after the tour. Tour included good stops and overall history of the island. Would recommend it.

The island is beautiful, it is very large so I couldn't explore it completely. The vast majority of tourists go to the northern beaches but I recommend Riberao da Ilha for its beauty, architecture and tranquility.
