Monica was the best tour guide! She was very knowledgeable and made sure we all had plenty of time to view all the sites. It was a fantastic time!

Monica, was pleasant, polite, caring and knowledgeable. She went the extra mile, far and beyond as a tour guide to ensure everyone was fine. I was intrigued by how fluent she is in several languages, multilingual. She was always there when we needed to take photos, tell us the good spot to take photos, lending hands, and she made our experience in Rio very memorable. She was AMAZING!! Our driver Janel was also pleasant and drove smoothly. The journey was enjoyable and stress free.

The tour was about 9 hours. We were able to visit the Christ Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain for about 45 minutes each. The other stops were about 15 minutes each. Lunch was at a buffet. Drinks were not included. The fact that the tour does all the work for you is worth it. Our guide was knowledgeable about all the stops and very friendly.

Not worth the price. This trip can be done on your own without a guide. The guide was on his phone every now and then. The explanations during the tour were not very detailed. The air conditioning wasn't turned on, the windows were down for the transport. Had to pay for own admission to the Botanical Gardens (R$73) on top of $USD $140 for this tour.

The tour guide was very friendly and very knowledgeable. The overall program, transportation, and lunch were very well coordinated.

OVERVIEW Definitely book this if you like seeing sites that are then expanded upon by an expert. It’s well paced where we didn’t feel rushed but also didn’t feel like we missed anything. I took this tour with my girflfriend who found it through TripAdvisor. It was our first full day in Rio and we did the afternoon tour with Meilin. TRAVEL She came to our hotel on Copa Cabana and picked us up in her car (she is an excellent driver) and we went first to the Parque Lage. On the way she described the history of Parque Lage which she knows well having gone there from a young age when her mom taught there. She also made sure to point out notable things we passed on the journey as well as generally describing different areas of the city we went through. PARQUE LAGE At the Parque Lage she took us to the building which itself is stunning. Meilin asked whether we would want to stand in line for the photo that most people take in front of the pool (we declined) but still took great photos off to the side. We then walked the grounds which are so peaceful and she provided more history. We spent an appropriate amount of time there before getting in the car to go to the Botanical Gardens. BOTANICAL GARDENS A short car ride later we arrived and took a short (~5-10 minute) walk to the entrance. We paid for our tickets in cash but they apparently have just recently set up credit card payments on site. It was R$75 (~$13.50 USD) per person for the tickets. Once through, we first went into the welcome building where Meilin showed us the remaining parts of the first palm tree in Brazil and then took us to an aerial 3D map where she explained what we would see in the gardens. Just as with Parque Lage, it’s clear she really knows her stuff, both about history and botany. The walk was deliberately planned in a way that highlights things big and small which we wouldn’t otherwise get without the guided experience. RETURN As the tour came to an end we returned to the car and she drove us back to the hotel. She could tell we have interest history and culture and continued to answer our questions and offer more interesting facts.

The food was absolutely delicious and the Samba show was very entertaining. We were fortunate to have a Portuguese speaking native in our small group of 4, who explained the different dances and the history behind them. If I was to change anything, I would provide a program outlining the show and the history of Samba.

This full-day tour was the perfect addition to our week in Rio! Our guide Monica was incredibly friendly, and she is supremely knowledgable about the history that brought Petropolis to life. She was an excellent guide! We loved getting out of the city of Rio itself and into the mountains nearby. Highly recommend!

Monica the tour guide was awesome. Informative, articulate in english and spanish and just an absolute pleasure. The food stop was great and timing of everything was very well organized. I highly recommend!!

We really enjoyed the tour to Sítio Burle Marx!! He was not only an accomplished landscape designer, but also a very talented painter and sculptor. The sitio contains numerous plants from all over the word, and various settings where he experimented with different characteristics for growing the plants. In his home, where he lived until his death in 1994, contains numerous paintings by Burle Marx as well as from other artists. Our tour guide Monica was also excellent. She was very knowledgeable of Burle Marx’ life as well as his many accomplishments. Monica is very friendly, and in addition to sharing her knowledge about Burle Marx and Rio de Janeiro, provided great conversation as we explored the sitio. Overall, a very nice afternoon if Rio>

Our coffee farm tour in Rio was an unforgettable experience, largely due to our fantastic guide, Monica. She expertly guided us through the rich history of coffee, weaving in interesting stories about Brazil and Rio de Janeiro's past. Monica’s deep knowledge and enthusiasm made the tour both enlightening and engaging. For anyone interested in exploring Brazilian culture and history through the lens of coffee, this tour is a must. Highly recommended!

Good way to see both the Christ Redeemer and Sugarloaf. Decent amount of time at both locations. Van comfortable. Easier than doing it yourself.

Absolutely worth the trip. Our guide, Heilo, was the best! His fun talkative vibe made it more amazing than I could have been. Getting a Cariocas to guide us through his favela made us feel so welcome.
